I am an Igbo man, but this attempt is very inappropriate. Why trying to be a Governor of a state owned by the Yorubas, when you are not one legitimately? If this was a Presidential affair, it would be acceptable, but this attempt is a trespass of expression.

How can you even dream of becoming a Governor in Lagos when you cannot speak the language of the people over there? This is very funny.

Even if he speaks the language we wouldn´t allow such to happen because Igbos will not give such a chance to a Yoruba Igbo professor if such exist. What you are seeing here is evidence of the disrespect of the Igbos for the Yoruba people and the disregard for our language. All over in Yoruba land, you heard Igbos telling Yoruba don´t speak that ngbanti nganti here o! Imagine a foreigner telling the indigenes not to speak their language. And at the same time, the bastard will turn around to start speaking Igbo with his bastard fellow Igbo brother.

@@oluwalomejooda001thank you for your submission. These bigoted minorities are so hypocritical, and they despise Yoruba with passion. Happy to see your comment because it means Yoruba socio-political awareness and ethnic consciousness is intact.

This once again proves that the Yoruba are social, kind, welcoming and generous unlike some other tribes. Only the Yorubas will gladly go out of their way to provide and shelter others in need. Its in the blood... History repeating itself. Long live awa omo oodua in diaspora.

why fight a war u know u cant win? the foolish man is dividing igbo vote by running...The wise thing would be to gather APGA vote and give to PDP or APC and negotiate for political or economic favour in return.. Nigeria is not developed enough for a man from anoda tribe to win election outside his tribal location...may be in the next 100 yrs

This outburst is really not necessary, the viewers were the ones who wanted the man to speak yoruba and not channels and i don't think there's any discrimination in that. But logically, i think a governor of a state should be able to communicate with his people in their local language in whichever state it may be. Buhari will not be involved in the everyday running of affairs of states in the south east and neither will Johnathan be involved in the everyday running of people in the north. Governors will meet people within their states almost everyday and if communication is lost, then it's an hopeless situation. Of course you can talk about using an interpreter which i won't dispute but believe me, the best way to bond with people is to learn their ways especially their language. If people are discriminating against this man, he wouldn't have emerged the candidate of the said party which am sure it's likely to be dominated by yorubas.

nnadoo I agree with you on that, but I don't think the moderators meant any harm. They probably expected him to be able to say a few words in yoruba especially for someone who has lived in a lagos for at least 5 years, this I think we can compare to the "Oga @ the top" drama. It was meant to be a roller coaster but it went sour.

nnadoo you just said National Language not a state or regional language. how will he speak or relate with farmers, market women, public drivers? or maybe he doesn't even involve them in his plan. we are country, we are diverse and we need to respect the diversity. why would any Yoruba or Hausa in his right senses want to be governor or representative in the east. you are not from there by birth, you are not attach to the root, you understand the tribe and culture to some extent and you will never cherish or develop or die for another tribe or place over yours. we all know what the hidden agenda is here. America that is most open country in the world but has its limit concerning this, Obama went through a lot to prove he's a citizen.
