Im surprised so many of you liked this series, i thought it waa so subpar.
15 minutes in the first episode and there was sex scenes, violence and people jumping on tables and shooting submachine guns like crazy psychos.
Lucy is supposed to be an innocent cgaracter that doesnt know shit and always expect the best out of people, yet shes the first one to figure out that the people coming to their vault were raiders, titus is supposed to be a well rpepared knight but even after going years of mental adjust and conditioning to be loyal to the bortherhood, she is willing to ignore the mission to "shoot some stuff". It feels cheap and in fact, cheapness is another problem, everything is a olot device, titus himself existing purely so maximus have a power armor.
Notice how in a lot of action scenes characters will have a chance to kill someone but they will stop and stare or not shoot until they get killed? (Mr handy surgery, Ghoul vs the brotherhood knights,etc..)
When you mix it to the plot holes and characters being pretty much caricatures while theres barely any civilization in this world and yeah... Didnt like it

I'll try to address some of the things but I agree with most of your points!
I feel like the fact that the action starts pretty quickly and interrupts the idyllic life of the Vault is a good thing. Fallout is not the type of universe where you spend too much time talking or setting things up, it's not Westworld, it's relying on plot twists and changes of tone to be successful. And this goes from comedy to horror and melodrama into action. I think the tone of the series is its most important asset!
When it comes to Lucy's character i feel like it's not a coincidence she's the one who ends up leaving and going on the adventure we see. She's more resourceful and clever than the people in the Vault. That's why she figures it out and she barely escapes, in fact she doesn't even manage to kill her opponent since he comes back at the end of the ep. I think her character is really well written! She's the moral compass of the show to the point of being too naive at times.
Titus is portrayed since the very start as a bit of a loser in my opinion. The way that he perceives himself does not match his skillset at all. He kind of embodies the type of player who just wants to be in a suit and doesn't care what it takes to wear it. I also always felt that his character was emotionally stunted, I think he abandons his mission to hang out with Lucy because he's like a teenager following his attraction for her. He's not a teenager of course by age but mentally and emotionally speaking. Because he's been trained by the brotherhood to just be a good soldier, nothing else (and he fails at that as well ergo being a loser type of character).
When it comes to the action I completely agree with you! Unfortunately for us there aren't that many Game of Thrones out there. Show where the actions have consequences and the brutality of the world doesn't forgive our main characters even if we love them. For me it's not really a fair critique though because every single action movie / tv show has moments like this. John Wick is built on the idea of being invincible, The Last of Us if it was realistic Joel should have been infected by day one. Same goes for shows like The Walking Dead....interesting conversation though! thanks for the comment! :)
This makes me realise i wished i went more into details in this video specifically about Fallout! Gonna ping your comment to the top so that people can participate! Take care

@@Jrdotan I played Fallout 4 and New Vegas! And what I mean by that is that Fallout as a franchise it’s not Succession or Gilmore Girls (to give an example very heavy on dialogue and low on intrigue). The main interesting thing is not political machinations. Of course there is a lot of talking in Fallout but nobody gives a shit about it.

@@tornapart You didnt think political machinations were the interesting part of new vegas? But that game is mostly about that
Like, almost every quest has a gigantic ammount of text and you are basically building the relationship between differrent factions, stablishing economies and choosing the government status of the towns around the wasteland.
The main plot itself is about choosing one of four political powers to take over vegas, making the choice based on what you think is going to be a better ideology to manage Vegas between a Democratic republic (NCR), Autocracy based on ideals of economic liberalism (Mr house), Anarchism (Yes man) or Monarchy based on Roman society model (Caesar's legion)
The choices often impact minor societies and a huge portion of the gameplay is purely talking, in fact, the game is fully beatable full pacifist.
Its also not a question of nobody giving a shit, almost every discussion in FO groups when it comes to vegas is in fact, the political parts of it.

I have some small corrections to add for this week’s video! First of all I thought it was obvious but I played all of the games that I’m talking about! And I actually spent disgusting amount of hours in them! So before you type anything about how I’m not a real gamer well…not true xD I probably spend as much time gaming as watching films at times! Second of all when I talk about bugs in videogames (fallout and cyberpunk) I think I didn’t make it clear enough that I meant game breaking bugs. Bugs that prevent you from saving your progress, bugs that shut down the game unexpectedly, bugs that prevent you from finishing a mission or even finish the game. All of these things happened to me while playing those games and it broke the immersion so much to the point I felt that what i was doing was completely pointless. Hope you liked the video! Let me know down in the comments what you thought about all of this! :)
