As a father of young kids, I would rather be lit on fire than something unspeakable happening to them. I have thought about the scenario this book presents countless times and i know myself well enough to say that I too would cross the barrier in the pet cemetery.
@@TomOrangeBTW, there’s a prequel movie from 2023 streaming about Judd when he was a young man and the guy who was killed in the war. Pet Sematary Bloodlines.
So well said about the sense of dread King builds upon! You mentioned the “what if you could change things” question, and I think this is also perfectly explored in 11/22/63! The two books are extremely different-practically different genres-but they are my top-tier favorite King novels. Great review!
I mentioned this is discord but I am really excited to read 11/22/63. I think that "what if we could change things" idea is a really fun thing to play with
I love King’s meandering! It can feel a bit bloated in some instances but it’s definitely one of his strong points. Also, one of the most polarizing things about his writing style haha!
This book is so fxcked up I can’t even talk about it. I had to stop reading it for a week because it affected me on such a physical level level. Wow wow wow. and that final scene?! Wow. My favorite Stephen King so far too
@@TomOrange, like you mention, I think King writes the human aspect very well when he's truly invested in a story. Some books like IT, The Stand, and 11/22/63 really show this. I'm excited to see you read his stuff. I wish I could read some of his books again for the first time!

I think that's part of why it is so impactful its what most parents would probably do

So far in the books of his I’ve read I really enjoy it
The scene of the altercation at the funeral is one of the rawest most infuriating and saddening scenes in fiction
Absolutely. Really takes you though the range of emotions
I just bought this one in original hardcover and cannot wait to read it!
Thats a good find! Hope you enjoy
I always get kind of sad when there's people who don't like it. It's been my fave book since the last 18 years. Glad you liked it.😊
I would be sad too!

My favorite King as well! It’s such a haunting book. Anytime I drive by a cemetery I think about
I think it's my wife's favorite King book and she's read quite a few. I know the movie is also one of her favorites as well.
I need to watch the movie
This book is one of the reasons SK is in my top 5 authors.
Yeah he was already climbing up for me and this one really pushed him up more.

Ive actually never watched the whole movie. Just bits and pieces of it
Maybe my second favorite Stephen King book
Is IT your number one?
@@TomOrange at the top three I have the Dark Tower as a whole, It and Pet Sematary
Have you read 11/22/63 yet?
Not yet! I really want to though
