This was the closest impact driver showdown to date, both are very very close! Here are the quick specs Hikoki Torque - 1903 in-lbs RPM - 3400 IPM - 4100 Makita Torque - 1590 in-lbs RPM - 3600 IPM - 3800 Also I did finally find the XDT19 tool only on Amazon for $163!
Hey, Do you notice a small click on the xdt19 as you engage the trigger? do you prefer the xdt16 over the xdt 19? Walmart has the xdt19 for $115.88 right now through Mass Depot. I do have to say that Metabo triple hammer had a much more sensitive trigger...in the lowest slow mode I was able to place 1 1/4 screws for shelves with ease without pre drill holes. I did opt to use the star shaped screw heads to avoid cam outs and stripping the screw.. not one bad screw doing it that way. The triple hammer definitely great with the 1.5 hour battery for light duty work but has more than enough power when needed. The metabo may get warmer than the Makita and I can't speak to using it all day in a trade for instance.
Love your vids! Just an fyi. You may already know this. But Japan uses a different size anvil on all its bits and bit holders. The Japanese anvils are 13mm and the U.S are 9.5mm. Since you purchased a Japanese domestic market Hikoki is has the 13mm Collet for a 13mm Anvil I’m guessing that’s why you are having the problems with the Hikoki collet. Of course you CAN use US bits but there is a tone of horizontal play. And there not seated in the collet in the designed position. It should be a one handed collet lake most if not all high end drivers now days. I would recommend ‘JDM’ Vessel bits. Amazing quality in my opinion. Just a thought. Hope this helps! Keep up the great and informative vids!
Thanks! Yes, so far the US bits haven't given me any issue yet, I have a few guys I know that only buy JDM impacts and run US bits now for years with no issue. I have a new JDM impact arriving tomorrow so I am hoping to further test that out in a future video. Thanks for the info!
I just got a TD172(xdt19) in purple Japan made. It’s been a great change from my gen 3 Milwaukee. Apparently the xdt19 has been out for a year or so in Japan. Wish I’d have known earlier. Also makita is releasing a new impact soon that looks awesome. One of the colors is the green as their outdoor adventures stuff.
@Rudy is here! I love Milwaukee tools. I’ve always had a few makita tools that I like better. One of the things that is oddly most noticeable is how much harder the trigger pull is on Milwaukee.
@@bbbrendenbeen trying to decide between the Milwaukee gen 4 and Makita xgt 16. Have access to trying both, and even though the Milwaukee is a beautiful and very powerful tool, something is drawing me to the Makita. How do they compare in your experience in long term use?
Dude you have to check the way you look for kits pricing: Makita XT288 kit (XPH14 + XDT19+ 2x 5.0ah batts): $190 home depot (return *FREE* tools) The 18v Metabo WH18DC with impact and 2 x 2.0 ah batts is $130
@@UltimateToolReviews I cannot tell you how much I like it, trigger control is unreal and collet has no runout which is awesome. Ergonomics is great as usual

Omg thank you I'm buying the Hikoki bare tool. I have so many batteries unless lowes has a sale I'll go that route.
Have fun! I am definitely buying more!
I’ll take the Hikoki

Yeah top end makita impacts have really excellent trigger response, very soft and precise. Also if you want ip56 makita td002gz has it
That will probably be on my next Amazon Japan order, lol.
