      Have you cleaned the carb and changed the spark plug?

    • @upnorthvlogs
      @upnorthvlogs 2 месяца назад +2

      @@MunkyWrench I have changed the plug and sometimes when I spray ether in the carpet starts, but no, I have not cleaned the carburetor taken it off yet that’s my next step. I feel like it’s not getting gas.

    • @MunkyWrench
      @MunkyWrench  2 месяца назад +1

      @@upnorthvlogs that's usually the case when it's hard to start. Pull the carb apart and spray it out. Run a bread tie or small wire through any holes u see and it should come right back

    Those Snapper like mowers are crazy expensive compared to a normal full size rider. A Cub Cadet CC30H is only $160 less then a full featured Cub Cadet XT1 Enduro LT42. Nuts!
    Years and years ago I worked at a Honda Kawasaki dealer, and the shop had a sign for the customers to read and understand.
    Labor Rate = X
    You want to watch = 2X
    You want to help = 3X
    You want to DIY = just buy a new machine.
    Sounds like this Snapper was a 3X 😆

    • @MunkyWrench

      Alot of people like them for the style im guessing and the size. they are so basic and flimsy but if they are popular the price goes up

    Was you gonna pump grease in all the ports on that one i done it on my friends and his shifter and it really helped the shifter alot and check the rubber boots but on that model snapper should have made a chain cover or gear cover i can't remember much of it but that part isn't covered and its low to the ground were it can get damaged just from mowing i think its on the gear selector

    On other mowers ive used the old piece on new parts so the little plastic piece from his new old part might would have worked
    I know sometimes its a bitch getting those linkages out and back in but thats what i have done before was used the old one in the new part.
    And I've bought many aftermarket reject carburetors in the past and learned you gotta take the carburetor apart first before putting it on to check for burs little bits of metal
    One was so bad with burs the butterfly flap wouldn't close how it should i tried cleaning the burs off and it didn't help any because the carburetor was a reject it was no good then got another one and it worked fine until the bowl gasket went bad that was on my Kohler pro cv16s engine

    Where is the battery? I see a key switch. I have to turn my key on before my snapper will start. I had to go thru it last year and fix quite a bit of things

    • @MunkyWrench
      @MunkyWrench  Год назад +2

      There is no battery on this mower as it's a pull start, there is a space for adding a starter as an option but this one has none.. the key is literally just to kill the spark and shut off the motor. In start position it allows spark

    DUDE. FIRST, YOU DO NOT HAVE TO REMOVE THE FOUR SCREWS TO REMOVE THE CROWN, SIMPLY BACK THEM OUT 3/8 IN. WHEN YOU HAD THE NEW OEM CARB IN YOUR HANDS, TEST THE FLOAT BY A) POUR OUT ALL THE GAS AS BEST YOU CAN; B) BLOW WITH YOUR LIPS , HOLDING THE CARB WITH THE BOWL ORIENTED DOWN, INTO THE FUEL INLET NIPPLE. YOU SHOULD FEEL THE AIR GOING INTO THE CARB VIA THE FLOAT NEEDLE VALVE. C) TURN THE BOWL UP, BLOW THRU THE FUEL INLET AND YOU SHOULDN'T FEEL ANY AIR PASSING THRU THE NEEDLE VALVE. I DON'T THINK YOU SHOULD HAVE TAKEN THAT OEM CARB APART TO BEGIN WITH. YOU SHOULD HAVE TESTED THE FLOAT NEEDLE VALVE FIRST. LASTLY, WHEN YOU FINALLY FIGURED OUT THE FUEL TANK ORIENTATION, YOU HAD THE FUEL HOSE TWISTED AT THE TANK OUTLET..LOOK AT THE VID 38:52 THEREABOUTS. BTW, THERE SHOULD HAVE BEEN A NYLON GROMMET WHERE THE THROTTLE LINKAGE WENT THROUGH, BUT YOUR CUSTOMER TOSSED IT WHEN HE PUT THAT NEW OEM BRIGGS CARB ON. I HAVE THE SAME IDENTICAL SNAPPER, JUST 12 HP AND ELECT START. I HAVE BEEN ROUND AND ROUND ON MY MOWER SINCE 1985 (I AM 74).LISTENING TO YOUR DEMEANOR (ILL PILL), IMHO, YOU SHOULD DRAG OUT A BIG FAN, LAWN CHAIR AND A COLD BEER TO GO WITH THAT TARP SHADE. I LIVE JUST NORTH OF MOBILE AL, SO I CAN IDENTIFY WITH HEAT AND HUMIDITY. YOU SOUND AS IF YOU ARE JUST GETTING STARTED, SO YOU ARE DEFINITELY GOING TO RUN IN TO SOME PUZZLING SITUS! TRY PUTTING A DRIVE PULLEY ON THAT THAR SNAPPER, LOL!! YOU WILL LEARN TO SEARCH HELP ON RUclips..I DO ALL THE TIME, KIDDO! I WISH YOU SUCCESS AND PATIENCE. DO NOT GET ILL AND START SLINGIN SHIT ALL OVER YOUR AREA, LOL! I WISH I HAD YOUR FINE TOOLS YOU HAVE, ESPECIALLY THAT 1/4 IN. IMPACT!!! GOOD LUCK, I SUBSCRIBED AND AM FOLLOWING FOR A LITTLE WHILE...YOU CAN MESSAGE ME ON FACEBOOK.
