They are known to be the best live sounding band out there. Even better than Leprous which is also known to be that. They make any venue sound absolutely amazing.

It's really sad that they had to doctor his performance so heavily on record to justify people's attention... I saw them in Toronto at the end of 2023 and he was using at least half a dozen vocal backing tracks and was dipping out of at least 50% of the challenging vocal lines. This was the beginning of their tour. Y'all are being fooled by studio magic when it comes to this singer. If you want to hear a true monster go check out Devin Townsend... The dude's over 50 and is THE most impressive vocalist of the entire genre.

Yeah, Tesseract's vocal lines are very challenging and sometimes it's hard to sing them live. But usually he does a very good job. You can check out his singing streams, for example, and hear, that his voice is not very different than on record. And listen to the concert Portals. You can definitely hear great live singing with minimum of post production (i'm sure it's live because he f up chorus in Juno😀).
And volume of backing track on live shows is usually lower than volume of micro, it's easy to distinguish live singing from back track, so it doesn't look like lipsync.

I saw them at the end of their US tour and he sang all the challenging vocal lines lmao. He came off having a pretty bad illness right at the start of the tour dude. Is there backing tracks? Yeah. But they boosted them for the shows he could barely sing on. When I saw them, the tracks were much lower and less prominent.
I’m a fan of Townsend but that guy sounds like shit now and all his live DVDs are overdubbed with so many vocal effects it isn’t funny.

All you have to do is look up some of the other performances on the tour hereon RUclips, and you see him attempt the tough parts. It's not easy to maintain for a whole tour. You have to cut him some slack.

Ik this was like 5 months ago but I saw them in Bristol on the same leg of this tour. Dan announced pretty much at the start that he wasn’t feeling well and thus prioritising his vocal heath justifying the ducking of certain lines. Still one of the most impressive performances that I’ve ever been too though.
