I dont know where i was going but i was just trying to get out and on my bike home i heard this constant harmony and couldn’t figure out what it was. It was strangely beautiful and created this weird memory for me. I guess im dumb for not realizing it was my guitar until now but im glad it made that noise when it did.
Dude!! This was my childhood best friend. We drifted apart over the years but I recognized him instantly. That's so cool to see how far he's come, he's extremely musically gifted and he's extremely smart. Happy for you my guy! Edit: Also what's crazy is when we were kids we were both really into science and robotics, now after years apart we're both heavily into playing guitar, he plays other instruments too that I have no clue how to play, but still cool.
This raises a good point though, why don't we have a stringed instrument that you blow into at a specific angle to rattle the strings? Then you use keys of sorts to lightly choke the string/strings at certain spots for other sounds... Like a stringed flute if you will, it could work if the string was loose enough to wobble from basic blowing. 😝
For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. Jesus Christ loves you so much that He died for your sins and rose from the dead. If you repent from evil ways, believe that Jesus has paid the fine for your sins on the cross and confess Him as your Lord, you will be saved. You see, we all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God, that's why Jesus Christ, fullness of Godhead bodily, lived a perfect life, fulfilled the prophecies and law, shed His Blood at the cross just so you could be forgiven, reconciled back to the Father, receive God's love, be made a new creation, whole, sanctified. It's not about religion and what good works you can do to earn salvation, it's only by grace through faith in the finished works of Jesus Christ. Read God's Word, preferably start with Gospel of John, pray for the Holy Spirit to fill you, give you wisdom and revelation that way you're born again and see your life changed by the Spirit of the Most High. Much love and God bless you!

Here in Chile, in a city called La Ligua, we have a unique instrument called "El Viento," which means "The Wind." It's a wind instrument made from steel sheets and wires that produces calm and soft tones when the wind blows through it (though sometimes it can be a little eerie). It was built in 1986 on the top of a hydroelectric plant, and it's a giant structure with a beautiful view of the valley.
I love how serene this is, and how much contrast that has to the grey city world in the background. He found a way to destress in a legendary spot. It's a few steps from a city street, but that sound brings you hundreds of miles away from this world.
I used to do something totally similar to this when I was 17. My room was filled with instruments and depending on the chord I played the other instruments would vibrate at the same frequency and it was like the entire room was playing with me.
It was so crazy finding this video. I met Jaden in our home state by a college campus. Played guitar with him for hours and his talents amazed me. He wore bells on his heels to create a beat, and introduced me to the tongue drum. Such a talented musician

@@beau1908 Thanks to your comment, I tried fitting myself with two guitars to get an idea of what that type of harness would entail. It is actually just as easy to use two guitars with normal straps. You put one guitar on your back as if your back was facing forward, and the other guitar you put on normally. Just keep the angle of the guitar on your back more vertical and tighten the strap in place with the normally positioned guitar strap over the top.
The sand added a bit of percussion and it actually sounds pretty rad, like a rain stick or something. If you could harness it when it gets powerful instead of it just sounding like static. When it’s lightly hitting the guitar body it sounds rad.
That shot of the camera falling over at 14:25 somehow managed to be so smooth and cinematic. I bet they felt like this video would be a little chaotic while filming, but somehow the chaos of the sand and wind really created something special

I come from a pretty grim world, and I tend to only see things a certain way because of this. I see people and things in a manner that puts me pretty far away from others, even if I'm right next to someone. But seeing this video.. It makes me feel like things are going to be okay. The simplicity of two beings who came together, not for money, or fame.. but to just sit, enjoy one another's company, and play in the wind... wow. It gives me hope. Like seeing two kids in a sandbox playing life. The serenity of the music, and the wholesomeness of the vibe just solidifies how undeniably beautiful this video is. I'm so fortunate to have come across this video. Thabk you for sharing this.
When you hear them play together, with this soft sound of wind passing through the strings, it's like feel the wind blows on your face in the morning. Simply amazing
i had to do a double take because the chord progression sounded so familiar and ended up realizing that it sounds kind of similar to sometimes by my bloody valentine. kinda funny since thats considered their “acoustic” track.
this is so cool! Loved hearing Jaden describe how he plays, checking the movement of the water, the sand and the birds to understand the wind better. Wholesome music, wholesome scenery, wholesome video, thanks for sharing
Dude could so easily come off as a total hippy cornball, but for some reason he doesn't? I think it's because you can immediately tell how sincere he is. What an interesting guy!
The sound of the sand once you moved the beach really added to the atmosphere along with the music. It was like natural radio static in the background of the droning harmonics. SO nice!
man the conversations, poetic observations, scenery, sand, the laughs and the seagulls in the background everything about this video is music to my ears, eyes and soul🤍
I played guitar at the beach in the winter everyday back in 2019. I'd get these wind harmonics going while fingerpicking and with the guitar in my lap. The wind would often blow strong enough that it would feel like it was going to blow my guitar away. Sometimes I liked how angelic it sounded, and other times it sounded abrasive. I left the beach area shortly after. But I still remember those days as a really peaceful time. Nice to see this video and be reminded of that time in my life.
I love this for two reasons, firstly, because it sounds absolutely great, and secondly, because of the idea of onlookers wondering wtf you two are doing waving guitars around on the beach
My favorite parts about these videos are when Rob and his collaborator go quiet and let the music (and sometimes the Earth) do all the talking. Gorgeous stuff.
So once we were camping on the beach and I ended up sleeping on the sand, using the guitar as a pillow (yeah…). Next morning I was awoken by this ethereal sounds, lovely harmonics coming from nowhere, later I realized it must have been the guitar being played by the morning breeze. Lovely stuff.
This is pure creativity and i love it. Lots of people might not get it but I've sat listening raindrops outside my window and heard songs that I've tried to copy. I've woke in the early morning between sleep and being awake and heard the best music in my half dreams ever... That i can mix and change almost before i think about it, half my brain says "get the hell up and record" while the other half says "chill dude, it's so beautiful here, just listen and relax" i always listen and relax then forget what I've heard lol, I've talked to loads of musicians and producers about this thinking they've all experienced the same but no one has. I hope it's not just me
I’m so inspired by this. Love seeing traditional instruments played non-traditionally. Beautiful, ethereal. Have never seen anything like this on guitar. Wow
This sounds a little bit like the sea organ in Zadar Croatia. The rocks are hollowed in a way that the sea makes sounds as it comes in. It's beautiful.
It would require a trip to Croatia so doubtful. Rob if you ever get to Croatia we have a lot of traditional stringed instruments you can play. Tamburica for example.
It sounds like this is the way mutter is supposed to sound with the winds harmonics. Like its a token about the winds "Mutter". Wonderful video. I'm glad people can come together and enjoy music and share new perspectives on what it has to offer.
Wow, here I was years ago thinking I was crazy for blowing air on my guitar strings while holding chord shapes and thinking it sounded beautiful. Great video.
@@SylasG No, Steve does a joke where he turns his guitar's sustainer into harmonic mode at the same time he blows on it. He's talked about it, and you can see him flip the switch in any video of him doing the trick.

I remember standing atop a hill with my guitar to my side and hearing such a soothing sound. Took me a bit to figure out it was the wind blowing my strings just right. Loved to hear the exact sound I heard that day!
my heart dropped when you both started playing at around 3:30, I can't believe how well it works. What a happy coincidence, a cosmic coincidence like something we forgot.
There's a place in West Virginia called dolly sods. It's a rocky outcrop on top of a mountain that looks down on a beautiful Valley, and constant predictable steady winds sweep over the top of the mountain. Not only for the constant and predictable wind, but also for the beautiful setting, I think this type of music would be Stellar if performed in that location.
I think you're onto something, my friend - an album (do we still make these daze?) with the tracks titled after the various locations they were field recorded, which would of course include the ambient sounds like sand, or bird song at Dolly Sods, or waves from an onshore breeze in Hawaii...
Been trying to figure out how to describe stuff like this for a while without long explanations to people, I didn't know it was a genre but I totally agree! Thank you for saying this from a former parking structure performer!
@@IanTranSend Aw hey sure thing! A parking structure sounds like a cool place to make music. To be totally clear btw, I just pulled that name out of thin air. I don't know if the genre/technique has a proper name 😊

What a beautiful soothing noise. Jaden's a great guitarist. You guys did some really beautiful stuff here, love it. Also the sand makes my brain tingle I really like it.

In 2019 I was at the beach on a windy day and I had my guitar with me. When I started hearing sounds it took me a while to realize they came from the guitar. Then I started playing with it. It was such a cool moment and I'm so glad that more people are doing this. Thanks Rob for sharing this with everyone :)
I've always appreciated the crazy, beautiful world of Rob, ever since I went looking on RUclips (purely for shits and giggles) and found his banjo covers of Slayer songs. The more I searched, the more of this kind of stuff I felt privileged to find.
This is true childlike curiosity and amazement and fascination of the natural world and how it works. Just playing with things around us that we usually just forget about cuz its normal and everyday and finding or learning new things about this reality we live in... Its kinda like when youd cup your ears over and over again in a loud setting as a kid and being amazed by the sound altering it makes
So, Rob has played with water, earth, and now, wind. If he plays music with fire, he solidifies himself as the musical Avatar.

I have some friends that have been doing that since they were little. They always told me when they discovered it, it felt like magic and alien. Imagine how it must feels listening this out without expecting it.
From 10:32 til 11:33 needs to be published as a track to listen to, it's so beautiful including the laughs at the end
i had to do a double take because the chord progression sounded so familiar and ended up realizing that it sounds kind of similar to sometimes by my bloody valentine. kinda funny since thats considered their “acoustic” track.

I love that Rob travels all over the world just for jam sessions. Wholesome and cool to see
But doesn't he live in Chicago? So for this one, he didn't
He lives in Chicago.
travelled outside for this one
@@iwillspam5985more than I do most days, that's for sure lol
Travels the world, a very distant couple of miles to a lake Michigan beach.
this is so cool!
3:05 the way he describes playing with the wind is so beautiful. taking turns to play a melody and having a "conversation"
this is some magical ass shit man, jaden needs to create a youtube channel, dude would be insanely big. he has an eloquent way of work.
Agreed! I'm surprised I haven't heard this before.
youtube.com/@Aether333
He’s in a band called Galactic Harmony, they’re great 😊
he has a youtube channel! www.youtube.com/@Aether333
I’m currently in the process of kicking off a RUclips series! Stay tuned
Thank Jaden so much for sharing this gorgeous technique and Rob for giving him the platform to do so. This was so wonderful!
Having the wind play the strings and the sand blowing across their guitars is beautiful harmonies and a rain stick. It's a new form of Folk Music.
The sand blowing added a really cool texture to the sound. It almost sounds like an old record player....
He is spot on. They are quite literally having conversations with the wind through music.
Seeing people just PLAY and EXPLORE like this together gives me so much joy...
this is one of the most beautiful videos I've seen in a while, from the music to the the environment, and Jaden's vibe is unmatched
I need an entire album like 8:00 for my saddest moments please. This wind-guy is fenomenal anyway
That i can mix and change almost before i think about it, half my brain says "get the hell up and record" while the other half says "chill dude, it's so beautiful here, just listen and relax"
i always listen and relax then forget what I've heard lol, I've talked to loads of musicians and producers about this thinking they've all experienced the same but no one has. I hope it's not just me
it's not just you i experience this too!
I’m so inspired by this. Love seeing traditional instruments played non-traditionally. Beautiful, ethereal. Have never seen anything like this on guitar. Wow
Just 2 guys, chilling by water, playing guitar with the wind. Beautiful
This sounds a little bit like the sea organ in Zadar Croatia. The rocks are hollowed in a way that the sea makes sounds as it comes in. It's beautiful.
I’d love to see him do a video on it
It would require a trip to Croatia so doubtful. Rob if you ever get to Croatia we have a lot of traditional stringed instruments you can play. Tamburica for example.
It looks like a wonderful spot to lose yourself and become Zen. But I love my acoustic toooo much to find out what salt air and sand could do with it.
oh my god i was wondering what this reminded me of, i was there this march before the travel season. so weird where stuff pops up.
There's a similar one in San Francisco, not nearly as impressive as the Croatian one, but similar idea
That kid is so Incredibly open. I feel like every word he speaks carries his soul.
bro when both of you started playing it physically relaxed my shoulder muscles. that is incredibly soothing.
That performance of Mutter is just astoundingly beautiful. The song keeps getting better each time I hear it
This is a very unconventional way of playing guitar and i love it...
This shows how beautiful man in complete harmony with nature can be. So majestic and ethereal. Beautifully soothing. I love this.
It sounds like this is the way mutter is supposed to sound with the winds harmonics. Like its a token about the winds "Mutter". Wonderful video. I'm glad people can come together and enjoy music and share new perspectives on what it has to offer.
I love these guy's vibes. Please protect them at all costs.
Wow, here I was years ago thinking I was crazy for blowing air on my guitar strings while holding chord shapes and thinking it sounded beautiful. Great video.
Steve Vai does it frequently.
@@SylasG No, Steve does a joke where he turns his guitar's sustainer into harmonic mode at the same time he blows on it. He's talked about it, and you can see him flip the switch in any video of him doing the trick.
@@xtraspicychkn That's cool.
two artists doing art together, this is incredible
Everything about this video was simply just wonderful . Your interactions together , the peaceful beach , him saying you inspired him to play , the serene sound of the wind with the guitar . So much soul
When they filmed the wind across the sand and basically caught the waves that gave me goosebumps.
Truly awesome !
I love the reverse swell effect. This is beautiful
The sound of the wind blowing the sand on to the mic and guitars added an extra cool element 8:00
I like the layer the sand sounds added, hitting the guitars bodies and their jackets, it sounds so ✨texture✨ and rounds off the whole feeling
The sound of the sand blowing about really adds to the atmosphere.
I still have sand in my guitar from that day
i think i speak for us all when i say we need a full album of improvised wind songs with sand omg im in heaven
100%
Im usually not very fond of ambient music etc, but this hit me deep. Gave me same vibes as the minecraft soundtrack
This really inspired me to relearn guitar and experiment with the wind! So beautiful!
this is so wholesome, this video felt like an adventure time episode
Environmental music (that is, music where the place has a key role in the performance) is something I'd love to see more of!
I don't know if the genre/technique has a proper name 😊
the vibe in this video, the joy in your faces, the sight of happiness in the face of a dude that played with a artist he really likes. I hope that one day, I can play with my idols and get this feeling
What a beautiful soothing noise. Jaden's a great guitarist. You guys did some really beautiful stuff here, love it. Also the sand makes my brain tingle I really like it.
Another thing I love doing is fingering a C major cord on guitar and then play a C major arpeggio on my trumpet and listening to the guitar resonate with the sound from my trumpet. Beautiful sounds.
My face hurts from smiling from 00:00 to 17:39. Thank you, truly
Wow! 100% natural shimmer/feedback effect! Really compliments the harmonics!
A full song of this would be so peaceful. No lie i cried just feeling the emotions flowing through the guitar
Try low roar
Jayden’s got two songs out now, and they’re pretty great!
Jaden's melody making is really nice.
i remember watching this a little over a year ago, the way you and jaden play together with the wind joining in sounds so beautiful
Thank you SO MUCH for this! I love the wind. I love guitar. I love experimenting with sound as an art. I love learning to interact with people who are different from me or have a new perspective. Thanks for recording this and sharing it. Thanks for being willing to express yourself. Please continue to work toward the humility we all need, or none of it is worth anything. Give thanks. I am, for you both.😄👏👏👏
Gratitude!!💕
What a beautiful sound
This is easily one of the best videos on the internet at the moment.
the jams at 6:26 and 9:32 are just immensely beautiful!
So nice sounding, i could sense the wind through the screen
I discovered this with my fiddle about 20 years ago while I was high on mushrooms with a group of good pals in the Alvord desert in Oregon. I’ll never forget the magic of that moment. Good on you for taking it next level!
This is incredible. The ringing notes and the sand blasting sound. Ambience
Rob I'm just starting out on the video but just want to say it's so good and wholesome of you to give credit where it's due for the discovery and to lift up musicians with smaller followings.
I love how enthusiastic about his music he is. And robs acompanyment is just perfect
