One important thing to mention - HOPPIE ACARS logon code expires after 120 days of inactivity .. so always check , if your profile is still active on their website . :) Otherwise you risk high stress level in your cockpit and blaming PMDG for CPDLC not working etc :) .
The APU PWR button in the elec field is the button to connect APU PWR to the elec system. If you push it and APU is not yet running, then the plane is smart enough to start up the APU and then connect it. A level of automation that neither Airbus nor Boeing has or even had given the age of the MD11!
Does this work for every controller or do we have to check if the controllers have a Hoppie logon code? Most in America I never see using Hoppie unfortunately, or do we always just connect to the current ground airport:? Also do we need to switch our logon facility everytime we transfer from tower, to approach freq, etc?
Hello, I’m a zla controller for ksan gnd, I can tell you that as of now, no one in the zla arttac talks about or uses hoppie(or atleast not that I know of), we were never trained to use or do anything over hoppie as we can already issue ACARS message through your vatsim client. Edit: this is only for American, I cannot speak for europe
I wish more controllers used CPDLC in the US. I can rarely get online for long enough to use it in europe and Oceanic doesn't seem to like me as they always end up logging off by the time i get to them
Yeah, I’m trying to wrap my head around why we haven’t gotten cpdlc. We have a faked system that just sends ACARS through vPilot which we use but not the same obviously
I set flight plan with Simbrief EGKK to EGLL. I could log on to EGKK in MFD COMM ATC page. But my downlink request to EGKK for Departure Clearance is not working! I am confused. What should I do with VATSIM? Am I missing something? Please help. Regards, Haseen Ahmad.
There are some problems soundwise on this aircraft currently: 1- Engine sounds are generally disliked by the community including me and I hope they would improve it. 2- Whenever there is a single door open on the plane the whole outside noises can be heard as if you would do in external view from the cockpit and its really unrealistic. 3- Most sound effects (mostly stuff you can move like the chairs arm support, the thing you move to the left on the windows) they cut off way too quick or so late that you even hear background noises of the recording they made. If PMDG somehow manages to update the aircraft to make the sound quality as good as what fenix did to their a320 this plane would be 10/10 for me. Also does anyone know if GSX is going to do a fully update on this aircraft? My cargos are clipping right through the aircraft

It is however worth noting that you do not need to LOGON (that is a CPDLC feature) in order to get the PDC. You can request the PDC right away.

That's correct as ACARS are sent usually via VATSIM controllers.

hello does ayones gsx work properly with the plane, mine dosent seem to be workig properly the cargo loader is way too high up any fix on this?

I’m used to not logging on first but requesting clearance directly. Is this a difference with the 777? Have I been doing it wrong in the fenix?
do you actually need the hoppie acars client software for this to work or is it simply enter your hoppie id into the efb and off you go ?
You only need the hoppie ID, nothing else.

That's CPDLC. ACARS is not yet simulated.
