It's even more amazing that dexter is still healthy, fit and active. No major injuries, surgeries, health complications etc, he's probably the only one whose come out of pro bodybuilding perfectly.
I'm 54. I've been bodybuilding for 40 years nonstop. I work 50 -60 hours a week. I have no trainer, I cook my own meals, do my own meal prep. At the end of the day, nobody gives a shit but me. Nobody gets how hard it is. This isn't my day job. It's never paid the bills. Every day, I fight harder than the day before. I will never quit.
Same here...I'm 52 and been training since I was 12. Won the Armed Forces Classic twice. Keeping it up when you have peaked and on the downward slide is the real challenge. Training is easy when your young and making gains....try getting through the front door day after day when those gains are not coming anymore. Keep it up! The other option is not an option.
I'm 59 years old its tough. Building takes sooooo long and Gains fall off quicker than ever, and injuries can happen without even trying. I aint giving up though... 💪
You have to change it up champ. Our bodies cannot handle the rigorous workouts that we did in our twenties. I don’t lift that heavy no more because I know injury will follow. Keep it light, time under tension and make the foundation of your fitness program cardio and you will be fine. It’s about keeping that heart healthy and mobility as we age.
Dexter has to be one of the smartest pro-bodybuilders out there. Throughout his career he trained smart & didn't go to do crazy stuff like lifting inhuman weights etc. As a person born in 1969, he looks fantastic & healthy. Ronnie is 5 years elder to Dexter, but look at the sad situation Ronnie is at now.
they both live and have achieved greatness in 1 shape or form during their prime. whats sad are those that never did even 0.01% of what ronnie did and is 10-20 years younger then both of em and is broken and can barely walk 10 paces without being out of shape.
I've been around this training world sense 1975 and I've seen a thousand times, when you go off the gear the freaky muscle goes away. You can still be muscular and some what lean but the out of this world muscularity, definition and leanness goes away.

Yeah or never get 23-inch arms lol. It's insustainable and the amount of food you need to maintain is causing 10-15 years off your life. 18 inch arms are great already, those 5 inches won't weigh up against the risks/cons of steroid usage and hardcore eating/training

@5:58 he looks healthier and younger here than he has in the last 30 years! He's lucky he managed to get out with his life and health. Now you're out Dexter, stay out!!!
Of course he lost his gains. The idea would be to downsize and stay in shape. He, like many bodybuilders and non-bodybuilding men would go on TRT which is a pretty low dose of test. and maybe some deca and HGH depending on the clinic and situation. Why retire just to carry the mass and continue to use higher amounts of PED's? If your sane you would do what Dex has done and he still looks good by the way. He is a legend!

@yahcobysrayah Oh yes Kenny Hall was so sad I never got to meet Kenny when I worked at 5 ave gym. But some guys showed me pics of him. Great dedication Kenny had.
