I love this. I’ve been a huge Springsteen fan for most of my life. I’ve seen him live over 40 times. I love his music, his lyrics, his voice, his stage presence, humor, humanity, politics, his openness, the man he is and the man he strives to be. I’ve recently discovered that he has a massive global audience. Such a lovely surprise. His artistry, storytelling and personality transcend language barriers. His audience spans generations.
I loved your discussion about my favorite songwriter. He’s touched my heart, soul, humanity, and more. I’m so pleased that you quoted so many of his lyrics and so much of his book. This was like watching a masterclass of Springsteen’s work. Thank you both so much. Liked and Subscribed. Can’t wait to hear more from you on any subject. Cheers.
Just lovely..Two fans talking about the person they like.. mind blowing.
No Ajay Sir, we have nothing better to do. Can you please just do this forever along with this other gentleman whose name is unseen?
Looking dapper Amit!
You just made my weekend, Amit and Ajay. Down with a bit of bad health and it felt like a freshly brewed pourover.
Liked the excerpts, stories. The commentary on how you and Ajay discoved Springsteen took me back to my childhood. I discovered him in my sixth standard when for some reason I had to stay in a different city, with hardly anyone to talk. I had three cassettes and a walkman. One of them was the boss's album, yes the iconic one-born in the USA. Had no lyrics and my bengali ear did not allow me to decipher it. After 30 plus listen I was able to figure it out a bit, and if not anything else, the beat of "dancing in the dark".
Many of us have stories of how we meet an artist or a song. Some of us have Springsteenomania😮, am with you there.
Thank you for making my weekend.
And can't stop mentioning this- Ajay was talking about songs that are long, I was so much waiting to hear a mention of brothers in arms. Am a Knopfleromaniac too. And I also find different versions of the same song fascinating. ❤
What a wonderful story! Thanks for sharing that. 🙂
Long songs, this is 6:58, squeals in na?
Not Telegraoh Road? 14:18.
To Ajay and Amit. This is one of the thousands watching you; this (infectious conversation) indeed is one the better things we do! So please do carry on to your hearts' content.
J. D. Salinger once wrote "There are still a few men who love desperately".
On : Who are all these people watching this show.
Happy to be your tribe. :)
Finally here!! Why wasn't this released yesterday!!? Anyway, finally the wait is over!
Edit: Got it why.😅😁
Not a Springsteen fan but loved your passion towards him.
Do experiment with the playlist that we have assembled, alongside this show. Maybe you will like some of it.
John Landau's story is amazing, Amit!
Thank you for the passion, the deep thoughts. Every episode is an eye opener for me
Was eagerly waiting to watch this episode and I lost all sense of time as I watched you both talk passionately about Bruce and many musicians and their work while I switched between RUclips and Apple music to hear all your recommendations. We are the many gentle readers indeed who love your show and will keep watching :)
We have assembled a RUclips playlist for you. :-) Every song mentioned in the show, in roughly the order in which they appear.
Thank you! Gentle readers zindabad!
Beautiful...only Amit and Ajay can create such amazing podcast
Thank you, Usha ji!
What a lovely episode! The passion is infectious. I've never seriously listened to Western music - I listen almost exclusively to hindustani classical - but I'm planning to spend the next few hours - days? weeks? - listening to Springsteen
Naren, maybe the playlist that we have made might work for you.
Naren, we must have a Springsteen meet-up!
Amit: your student’s story reminded me of another (probably apocryphal) anecdote about Thomas Wolfe. He bought a copy of Ulysses while embarking on a sea voyage and spent months copying it out word for word in a notebook. When he was done he threw the notebook overboard. When his shipmates asked him why he did that he replied “because now I know how to write a book”.
What a fantastic story! ❤
Not familiar with Bruce Springsteens work, but the key takeaways were the arc of an artist, the drive to create, the father-son relationship, and seeing reader Ajay Shah possibly moved by the description of a song.
Love the show as usual...whoever is doing the audio mix needs to work on the track better. Happy to assist if you need help. Keep up the great work.
Could you please tell us the flaws that require attention?

After watching and listening to the podcast, I have a few suggestions as an audio technician:
To achieve optimal sound quality, it's crucial to position your microphone correctly. Place your thumb near your nose, and your pinkie finger on the microphone; this is the ideal distance. If you get any closer, the microphone will pick up unwanted mouth sounds, and if you move farther away, it will capture more room noise. (These observations are based on what I noticed in the video.) This is likely why there is more hiss in your podcast audio. Following these steps should help reduce it.
It seems that your Zoom recorder serves as the primary source for your microphone inputs. Ideally, the recording sound level should be maintained at 6 dB or higher, corresponding to the range of voices being captured.
If possible, consider having your podcast files professionally mastered. This step can significantly enhance their overall audio quality. In the meantime, please ask the video editor to balance the initial music at the same level as the dialogue; currently, it is much louder than necessary. I hope this advice proves helpful.
I'm willing to assist with mixing the sound for an upcoming episode and working with your team to explain what needs to be done. It's not a complex task, but many video editors may miss the nuances of audio.
I'm a fan of your show and work (both You and Amit) and believe that 'Everything is (indeed) Everything.'

Thank you.
Google Maps is nearly an accurate map of the world - and yes, it is nearly as big as the world itself. But, it turns out, that isn't a problem if you have a good enough UI. :)
Classified areas blurred/blacked out and lag of real time street view updates is months/years
Great point, Pranav!
Ajay, had to be Dylan before Springsteen :)
Sorry, I could not relate to this Episode as I am totally unaware of Western music. Even in Indian Music, I am more used to Carnatic classical, I listen to Hindustani occasionally though.
No worries, different strokes for different folks. Thanks for watching!
