I didn't look at the scans of every card, but of the ones I did look at that had a low grade, I'd say the common factor was corner damage. There were several cards which had multiple corners with white showing.
The Mike Trout /99, for instance, came in as an 8. I'd say that's because of the bottom edge and corners on the front. Both corners show white and the bottom edge has some minor wear. Wherever you have a solid color like that red, and there ends up being some of the white base color peaking through, PSA's going to hammer you.
The Jackson Merrill, which was a PSA 6 was off centered left to right on the front, but the biggest issue I saw was on the back. The bottom corners both show white. In fact, the bottom right looks like the damage was so bad that top layer of ink is missing, at least in the scan on PSA's website.

I can see white corners on your paper cards, also some of them had edge snow flaking. Centering was the biggest issue I saw with you getting 9's...I think you got tunnel vision on looking for 1 thing and missed some of the obvious...I make that same mistake too...I end up after its slabbed seeing a lot of issues I missed...You really have to be confident with paper cards. The edges and corners will get you every time...Panini chrome baseball cards are notorious for surface issues, you may not be able to see it right away, but a couple of yours had print/roller lines. keep on ripping, dont get down on it! I have been ripping/collecting/grading/flipping/selling since 1988, i still make mistakes...1993 Upper Deck was Jeters Rookie Card FYI...Good Luck on your journey!!

What are you looking at before you send them in? That was a lot of 6's and why send in a stars of MLB card that is a waste

2 points.....1996 upper deck is not a jeter rookie, and 1996 also is not vintage. Cards are not like cars where after 20 years it becomes vintage. Vintage was an era, roughly 1940-1980.
