MsMojo OA For Richer Or Poorer, It Takes Two, Look Who’s Talking trio and Village Of The Damned were all my favorites when she was starring in them. ☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️
Rest in peace, Kirstie. I grew up watching her in "Star Trek", "Cheers", "It Takes Two" and the "Look Who's Talking" Trilogy, and she brought joy and laughter to my childhood. She'll be forever missed. 😇❣️
She is Rebecca from Cheers to most folks... To me she will be forever linked as Virgilia Hazard from the mini-series North and South. she was brilliant in that and so feisty too
I just rewatched that show with my family, and I cried even more than normal when her character dies knowing the actress is no longer with us anymore. She was truly brilliant.
Thank you for including "Drop Dead Gorgeous" on this list! When I heard the news, I looked for a gif of the scene "The swam ate my baaabyyy!" to tell a friend, as we both loved the movie and her performance!
Someone wisely stated : “Kristie Alley was so widely celebrated not because she was flawless but because her flaws were so visible - she was among those celebrities who are compelling because they eschew the carefully managed image of the famous in favour of offering something that feels completely unfiltered and thus far more intimate.” Cheers to you, Kristie Louise Alley, and may you Rest In Peace (1951 - 2022)… 🌹
I loved her in North & South in which she starred along side Patrick Swayze, David Carridean and so many other absolutely amazing award winning actors. It was about the American civil war. Its an amazing mini series which showed what a truly talented actress she was.
After not having seen the mini-series "North and South" for over 20 years, a friend gave me his used DVD boxed set a couple of months ago. So I have been slowly working my way through this outstanding show. I had forgotten that Kirstie played the important role of Virgilia Hazard. Even though she was performing with Hollywood luminaries, Kirstie dominated ever scene she was in by sheer force of personality. Amazing actress! She will be greatly missed. 😢😞
She really was one of the greats and in that role as Virgilia she proved it as she was totally captivating. I think the world lost a legend and half of them don't know what a truly amazing actress she was because most have never heard of the show. I am watching it all over again due to her passing. She really was one of the greats may she rest in peace.
I honestly think Virgilia was her best role. When you first meet her in North and South you think, "OK, she's headstrong and passionate, I like that. She speaks her mind and is clearly frustrated with having to live in a man's world." By the time you get to episode 6 you think, "Holy crap, she's psychotic." It would have been easy for a character like that to slide into camp or one-dimensionality but Alley was able to keep Virgilia relatable and even a little vulnerable throughout. That takes talent.
Such a unique soul. She was a huge part of my life growing up. She was just so compelling to me. Funny, clever, fierce, beautiful, & talented. Her eyes just brightened up your day. I was very saddened to hear of her passing. The world's loss is heaven's gain!
She was a Scientologist (highest level OT 8 with supernatural powers). From her point of view her soul (Thetan) will take an another body to live so she’ll be back. From a Christian point of view she will not go to Heaven but to the slightly warmer place..
@lottnio8207 she grew up in a Christian home. She was raised Methodist. She didn't become a scientologist until her late 20s. According to her she was still a Christian as well as being a scientologist. She was a Christian first tho and I 100% believe she's in Heaven. I'm Christian btw.
She was one of my favorite actresses and I had such a crush on her for so many years because of those beautiful eyes of hers. She will be missed and hope her family finds peace during this time. RIP Kirstie we love you!
Ela era uma incrível atriz. Conheci ela no filme "Olha Quem esta falando", e depois disso, sempre que via um filme com ela, era um prazer. Que ela descanse em paz.
Her death this week really hit hard. As a kid I loved the Look Who's Talking movies. And when she was the Toothfairy. That movie is what got me into Bonnie Tyler, all because of Kirstie. Also really loved It Takes Two, and For Richer For Poorer.
❤RIP, Kristie. She was such an inspiration. A young woman from KS who leveraged talent and courage to bring us laughter and entertainment. We will miss her. thanks for sharing her best moments in public. ❤
Her performance in the miniseries North and South was incredible! While known for her comedic roles, she was equally amazing and certainly underrated in her dramatic ones.
Usually when they replace a character on a show it doesn’t work but it did with the Rebecca character and it really did feel like she had been on the show from the beginning💯 R.I.P. Kristie Alley
The likely reason that Kirstie is so emotional during Spock’s funeral is bc she booked the role in Wrath of Khan within days of losing her mother and nearly her father to a drunk driving accident so it likely didn’t take much to bring it to the surface
RIP Kirstie Alley, taken from us too soon. Fabulous actress but my personal favorites are Cheers, Look Who’s Talking trilogy, and as a Star Trek Geek I was thrilled to see her play a Vulcan❤️thanks Msmojo for the great list.
I love kirstie Alley. I cannot believe she is gone. She was so funny. I used to watch her in the " Look who's talking movies, as well as " It takes Two. May she R.I.P.
I loved Kirstie Alley in any movie or tv show. I'm really going to miss her especially seeing her on big screen. I still can't even believe this, it's been like 4 since I been mourning over her. I would like to thank her for all the laughs and smile, she has given me. RIP To True Soul "Kirstie Alley"
She was so wonderful as Virgilia Hazard in North and South. And soooo funny in the movies Sibling Rivalry and Madhouse! I could watch any of those again and again!
One of her more underrated roles was as Ann Putnam in Salem Witch Trials. I still remember how well she played her as a vindictive, bitter, resentful, cruel woman who got in over her head. There's a scene where some of the women are executed and she watches as they are hanged and suddenly realizes what she has done and just breaks down. It's powerful and memorable and stuck with me all these years.
I love, love, LOVE Drop Dead Gorgeous… she totally makes that movie and does a hilarious over the top Minnesota accent. It’s hard to find, but if you’re ever lucky enough to find it, and want to watch something so ridiculous that it’s actually funny, I highly recommend it! “Close your legs… I can drive a boat show in there!”, “The Swan ate my baby!”, “Get up, baby, we gotta go to State!” 🤣😂🤣😂🤣
She really was a great actress. People's passing shouldn't be about political disagreements; that tacitly means it's about us instead of about them (and in that vein, happy to see that most of the comment section here is being classy). RIP Kirstie and sympathies to her family.
Two of my fav moments were both from Cheers. One was when Danson tried to catch her smoking by busting into the office. She just looked at him. As soon as he left, she produced the cigarette concealed in her mouth which was still lit and continued smoking. The other was when she went into her office and found it filled with sheep.
Between "look who's talking now" and "it takes two," two of my favorite movies as a kid, she was on my TV a lot and she'll be sorely missed. Another thing I found out later after becoming a Prince fan- on his Symbol album, there are two segues and she plays a reporter trying to get the full story from him about how his name (whether it was a calculated move on his part or not, it was still his last album before he changed his name to a symbol in 1993)
the GREATEST scene was when Rebecca met Diana...."I'm with the firm of Emerson, Lake and Palmer"......sounds familiar, says Diana.........laughing.......rest in peace, Kirstie

My favorite Kirstie Alley moment? When she plays Gladys Leeman in “Drop Dead Gorgeous.” This movie introduced me to her acting, as well as Allison Janey. Both funny ladies.
Unbelievable loss my book. She always had an amazing subversive, snarky sense of humor. There is a moment in David Letterman where she talks about Sharon Stone's no underwear scene in Basic Instinct and her take on if Stone didn't know her crotch was being filmed as Stone claimed. It's an epic boy. And fall out of your seat funny as F*ck. Letterman was dying which is extremely rare. She's always been relatable and grounded and beautiful in all her fun sizes. Rest in peace, gorgeous. ❤️😶
Didn't she say something like 'if the measuring tape makes a beeline for your V and they film you from the front, they're going to get a picture of it.' Then she makes the V sign with her arms. 🤣

Definitely "It Takes Two" and the "Look Who's Talking" Trilogy.
Cheers. I have a childhood crush on Kirstie Alley, Shawnee Smith. Susanna Hoffs, Ally Sheedy and Vanna White.
I also like Tiffany, Debbie Gibson and Venus from Bananrama. I like Bobbie Brown from the glam scene.
