Great video and information. You have done your studying on that truck and everything makes sense for the person who is getting into the hobby of Monster trucks. I got into RC when I was about 25. On road cars, plains and now rock crawling / trail challenges. I watched many test and info videos before I made my decision on which all around crawler to buy for what I wanted to do. People like you that provide test and comparison videos make it easier for us to make our decisions. Thank you
This comparison really helped with justifying the money on getting this truck. Love my Smt10 but you're right, to get it to the same level you're dropping way more money. Just the upgrades I've done to get the Smt10 a bit more scale (and still has link mounted shocks) I'm probably close to the LMT, and that's still on brushed power. Rtr $300 Short links $100 Savox servo $100 Duratrax Munitions 2.2 $30x2 (still not scale looking but a good upgrade from stock) Traxxas 12t 550 $30 $590 Not counting the HW 1080 I already had, and receiver (again had) to bind it to my Tx. Again, it's WAAAAAAAY fun, shows that this LMT is good value for money even at $600 RTR. On the Smt10, you can get it lower by mounting the shocks in the hole above the stock position. Just needs longer hardware with a spacer to keep the shock body off the cage, still not scale, but with tires and body mounted, but not to noticable (still is when you know though!). Look forward to see the paint scheme and body you go with, it'll be killer I'm sure.
Great video as always! Your command of the English language is amazing, I lived in Germany as a kid for four years, and never came near to speaking German as fluently as you speak English as a second language. Well done!
Nice video. I have an smt axial and I want to put Jay concept Renegades on there. But I think there's a 12 mm hex drive on the axial, and it sounds like there's a 17mm female on the Renegade Wheels and Tires. Will an adapter work?
Thanks for doing this video. I'm looking to get one and was undecided on wich one to get. You just help me pick the right one for me and what I want it for. Good job thanks
Great comparison Chris you did axial & Losi their due justice I have 2 smt 10's & just ordered 2 Losi LMT rtr's the GD & S uva D kibda big investment butt worth it no need for upgrades and for scale realism next to a scale 1/10 crawler the size more realistic, look forward to your body choice & paint job
Nice video! Nice comparison! it really points out how the SMT10 is really a repurposed crawler. Not bashing the Axial, I just got one! But for those critical that the Losi costs twice as much, I have found out the hard way, that upgrading mine (beef tubes, front sway bar, BL system, steel drive shafts, titanium steering link, etc.) I have now spent as much as I would have to get the Losi! There is LOT to like about the Axial, but compared to the Losi they are two different trucks completely, which is ironic, since they are both a Gravedigger mosnter truck model. Ultimately, if you like tinkering, you can have a lot of fun upgrading the Axial. But if you break down what is in the Losi, the price is justified.
Hmmmm luv my smt replaced the rear axial to a vanquish I run jconcepts firestorm tires Amazon 22 dollar axials no issues with a hobbywing brushless but you can't compare it to a 1/8 drivetrain beast ...the losi is on a different level....nice review brother 👍
Hey Hemistorm could you do a video on how to mount a body to the roller? I want the roller but I'm wondering how to fit a body shell cause i know its a little abnormal
Wow! Thanks for putting all those trucks side by side and with the bodies off. We can really see and compare. The shock placement has got to help with durability and probably handling too. Does it have a center diff? You probably covered that kind of stuff in the unboxing. I'll head over there. Don't know why I didn't get that in my feed.

This LMT seems stronger than the SMT version. I don't buy the last version cause of the lot of upgrade necessary to have a quality models. But I have a better feeling with thisone. Is it the case?
From what I have been able to see so far, the LMT is in an entirely different league all together. Way stronger, everything oversized, truly on a whole new level.

The SMT10 will always have a place in my heart and collection, but the LMT is just more purpose developed and it shows. I know it yields a larger price tag, but some of the upgrades you mention like a brushless system, the lower links, some proper sized wheels and tires, some steels gears quickly put them at an almost price comparable level. Not a big monster truck RC fan, this may change my mind🤔 Great comparison Chris! What about the 66 Ford or Chevy or maybe even the 56 Chevy or VW Bug. So many choices 😬
I wasn't a fan of the monster trucks either, never even looked at the SMT10. As soon as I seen the Losi monster truck, I knew it would be a hit. It even went almost to the top of RCs I want to get.
If they were only a little bigger like 1/8 or so. The LHS has one, but I hesitate to get it. Maybe Losi will come out with one, a little bigger than the LMT.
So they are both gravedigger but ones double in price so it should be better quality I saw a bash video and after 3 backflips it broke the back axel on the losi The amt10 did like 10or 20 flips and broke nothing......
Can’t wait until I can get mine I do enjoy the black unlike the SCX Gravedigger. Looking forward to seeing which system your going to put in. Take care brother ❤️👍😎
Awesome looking truck the only thing I wondering is how the links hold up with that mounting point in the axle housing. Thanks for the vid can't wait to see it once your put your touch on it 👍🤘😁
Hello Alex, in all the bashing videos I have seen the mount of those links seems to be no problem at all. I can't wait to try mine out to see for myself how much abuse this truck can actually take. Thank you for watching!
Great video and very help for me since I'm looking to get a modern scale MT. Within 2 minutes of your video I could tell the Losi LMT is not as scale as the Axial SMT10 in terms of axles and inner rims which have a much larger diameter than the outer rim. It looks great other than that. A bigger issue for me and I'm sure a lot of enthusiasts is the HUGE price difference between the two which I think hurts Losi. A Losi LMT roller can be had for $400 while a ARTR/RTR version is $600 USD. An axial roller is $200 and a RTR version is $300 USD. Even the HPI Wheely King RTR is $220-$240 USD so even if the latter trucks need a few upgraded parts they seem worth it over the very expensive Losi truck.
Yeah I bought a smt10 for that same reason but I’ve easily put $400 CAD into that truck to make it durable and faster. Would have been cheaper for me just to buy the Losi.
The axial is far from more scale. Tires are way to small on the axial. Axles look 10 times more scale on losi. And the suspension performs much more accurate to a monstertruck.
Totally need one of these in my stable! That LMT looks beefy! The cost of the Axial is enticing too! Let's be real, eventually, I'll have one of each lol!
Ok $699 ends up being around $770 after tax So with $770 limit you can get a pretty bulletproof Smt10. The size is different is so be considered though.

Lol cheese and rice dude! you can’t compare the 2, ones 300$ and it’s a 1/10 the others 600$ and that one’s a 1/8 scale.. There’s no comparing the 2 if you can afford the lmt buy it if not get the smt10. Lol
This is a great starting point Losi has offered. But I would LOVE if they offered it in a kit form. I know this will not be under TLR side of Losi but a kit would be cool for the builders of the RC hobby.
From what I have seen axles might be sold separately, and I can imagine it only being a matter of time before a kit will appear at some point. Let's keep our fingers crossed!
Sadly I call shenanigans on the durability. The axial ar60 axles are far stronger then the lmt axles. A quick search will prove how brittle the lmt axles are and how much abuse the smt10 can take. A cheap brushless upgrade on the smt10 and it surpasses the lmt in every way
Just found your Instagram and your channel! Great review bro! I’ve been thinking of getting the LMT! I’ve noticed in the vids I’ve watched it seems to be a bit front heavy/prone to nose dive. Have you noticed this? It may be just bad driving😂! It also seems too heavy in the corners😬. What are your thoughts on this and maybe a fix to help it bash better? I’m newish to the hobby and have had an e-revo 2.0, have an XMAXX, and just finished my M2C upgrade on my newer Mojave. I love to go big on the jumps!! Thanks in advance for you insight to this nooob!
Basically one is typical traxxas and one is typical losi. Losi always puts a lot of R&D into all their rigs. Traxxas is more about entry level and cheap replacement parts which is great for the industry but in the quest to build an ultimate rig it will never be a traxxas. Or if it is, is has so many aftermarket parts on it you will be lucky if your receiver box is still traxxas. But there is room for everyone in this hobby, to each their own
Thanks Hemi! I was wondering about the size comparison and you’ve answered that :-) What are you plans for paint scheme? Themed perhaps? I call my SMT10 the “Spartan Warrior” I’ve always admired your paint work and design. I use some of your techniques myself. Thank you for those how to videos. It really helped me improve my skills. Now if I just had more time 😂 Your new studio looks awesome too!
Cannot wait to see how this one turns out, so impressed with what Losi have created with this rig. Add that with the amazing paint job you will undoubtedly create and then BAM.!!! L.uda-chris M.onster T.ruck Cheers mate👍
Yes indeed, the extra time Losi took to develop something that is purpose built really shows. I think they set a new bench mark for solid axle monster trucking with this LMT. Thank you for watching!
All Axial with these Axles are a Nightmare an real Money Pits.Looking very cool but 0 Capable out of the Box. Yeti, Wraith, Smt10 and Bomber are the worst Rc's from a Big Rc Brand I know. Every Screw, everything is in Dimensions for a real 1/10 Scale. But they are bigger, almost like a real 1:8 Scale but not the Screws and driveshafrs etc.!

Sadly I call shenanigans on the durability. The axial ar60 axles are far stronger then the lmt axles. A quick search will prove how brittle the lmt axles are and how much abuse the smt10 can take. A cheap brushless upgrade on the smt10 and it surpasses the lmt in every way
From what I've seen there is no comparison.
A quick glance might have people confused. A close inspection will indeed show that it’s apples and oranges. I hope you’re well!
I would love to have a lmt grave digger but I don't have the money.
I drive a 18weeler for a living
I think the smt10 looks better and more realistic as far as the chassis goes. Real trucks don't have vertical plate chassis
Awesome brother 👍👊😎
Basically one is typical traxxas and one is typical losi. Losi always puts a lot of R&D into all their rigs. Traxxas is more about entry level and cheap replacement parts which is great for the industry but in the quest to build an ultimate rig it will never be a traxxas. Or if it is, is has so many aftermarket parts on it you will be lucky if your receiver box is still traxxas. But there is room for everyone in this hobby, to each their own
A messed up I bought the Axial smt 10 first a week after here comes the Losi Grave digger Im like is that fair...lol damn
Running vidio please
Thanks Hemi! I was wondering about the size comparison and you’ve answered that :-) What are you plans for paint scheme? Themed perhaps? I call my SMT10 the “Spartan Warrior” I’ve always admired your paint work and design. I use some of your techniques myself. Thank you for those how to videos. It really helped me improve my skills. Now if I just had more time 😂 Your new studio looks awesome too!
I have a lose grave digger on order
Cannot wait to see how this one turns out, so impressed with what Losi have created with this rig. Add that with the amazing paint job you will undoubtedly create and then BAM.!!!

Cheers mate👍
y such a long channel name
It wouldn’t be hard to turn the smt10 into a crawler
It woild be a Wraith, haha!
Love you/elsker deg ❤️
Elsker deg også! :)
Interchangeable
Losi just makes a better RC car.
Axial and Losi made by the same company
The LMT cost twice as much as the SMT10...
The SMT10 is a kids toy, and the LMT is for adults. Plain and simple. lol
As you'd expect, Losi did what Axial failed to do. No disrespect to Axial, but they're easily beat here
Yes indeed, the extra time Losi took to develop something that is purpose built really shows. I think they set a new bench mark for solid axle monster trucking with this LMT. Thank you for watching!
You can't really call this a vs as Losi, and Axial are both owned by Horizon.
It better be sweet. Its literally twice the price.
It is sweet I ashru
I love axial.... but..... there's no competing with the losi haha.
Its so bad ass.
Cool.
I broke 2 survos for the new axel sc10 I would have never bought the Axels sc10 if Losi was going to fix the issues I would have waited
Sweet sorry I’m late Chris in the hospital got fluid in the lungs a d mystery liver damage. Day two wish me luck ps getting old sucks lol
Oh no, please stay safe and healthy, Mike!
