This is like the "lost interview" of the Scorpions... Raw ,intelligent with very interesting questions, digging into the bare bones of how the band constructed their materiels. Especially the part when the guys are asked about the work division on guitars between them. Being a guitarist myself, I was always intrigued by that issue, since Matthias and Rudolf have such different skills. one is. a great song writer and composer, the other is super talented arranger with awesome tech skills and feel. There is 0 overlapping between them, that's why it works so perfectly! Great job on interviewing Mattias and Rudolf! ❤
When you can afford to say its crap lol ,though the simple guitar rigs of that time period just nailed it .less was more ,you had to search given the limitations you had at hand ,and usually a month or so to get it out. Good stuff
18:05 I never heard that Michael was that much retribution and anger towards Phil Mogg coming out of UFO. Michael justifiably felt bullied by him but I never heard Michael say he was out for revenge. I think Michael was a major creative force , not a destructive revengeful one…I think when Uli Jon left to do his own thing combined with Rudolf recruiting Mattias things were very much in flux and much confusion was involved. And when Michael was coming out of UFO because of ugly band politics this added to the confusion around the time of Lovedrive album being produced….In this confusion it is really not surprising that historically there was controversy about who wrote what and who should be given credit for what at the time of Lovedrive which after all was the album which made the Scorpions in America…I hope Rudolf doesn’t mind me saying this but possibly it is a bit unfair of him to call Michael’s temporary arrival in the band ‘a mistake in the construction’ of the Scorpions because Michael was a sensitive creative artist who was being bullied and he wanted to get out of that situation and turned to his big brother for help. Michael didn’t intend to disrupt the evolution of the band and he played and wrote a lot of good ideas on Lovedrive even if he was such a creative force that he could only have been happy doing his own stuff. In the long term Scorpions evolved into the world renowned band they became under Rudolf, klaus and Mattias and Michael created his own path as a brilliant guitarist….(Paul)

Hi, Thnks for uploading this Beautiful Videos, This my Favourite Band Group, From German, 🇩🇪, “ SCORPION 🦂 “, Since i was young, 18. Years, Until Now. İM, 65. 😊🤝👍🇸🇬🇸🇬🇸🇬🤝
Real guys, real deal and humble with amazing talent. I think they are also Christians which is a plus because in this business and the dark rock n roll world which is un Godly and honoring the enemy.... But these guys seem to remain very grounded. Their music is very tasteful and melodic with amazing vocals and guitar work that stands out in every piece of music they produce.
Congrats on being able to secure this interview with Scorps! 🤘 You're so lucky to be able to sit & chat with them legends. Not many people will get such an opportunity. I enjoyed this interview. I'm sure you've had the time of your life as well. As a hardcore fan, I have watched literally anything & everything-Scorps over the years. Good interviews, bad interviews. Good concerts & not so good concerts. All of them. However, maybe there are a few little things that need to be addressed - just in case you'll be interviewing more artists in the future. 1. Notice how both of them clears out their throat throughout the video. It sounds like they're having a dry throat or something. Having some drinking water on standby probably helps. As young as they look physically, both of them are in their 70s & old enough to be our grumpy grandpa. & These aren't our normal grumpy grandpas, these are the world-famous members of Scorpions. 2. They key to moderating a session or conducting a great interview is by having a good sense of balance. We understand you're probably excited & deep down, you're a fan too. There's so much you need to get off your chest, but : ▪︎ Do not cut off the guests while they're speaking. ▪︎ Make the conversation "less about me, more about the guests." (It's hard, I know. Especially when you interview your idols). Some people hated being cut off mid conversation & it just threw the vibe out of the window. Rudy & Matthias here calmly showed how professional they are in this scenario. 3. At the end of the video, while discussing Uli/Lovedrive, Matthias said, "Last words?" Before the video gets cut off. IMO the session will be better if it ends with something current. As a nod or courtesy to them. Like, ask more stuff about Matthias & Rudy, or the current state of the band, etc. They're literally in front of ya flying in from halfway across the globe. I think most viewers here also would love the current updates since we clicked to watch the latest interview on Rudy & Matthias. The topics of 70s Scorps hv been covered soo many times before. Again, balance is the key here, especially if you're running on a limited time. Just my honest opinion commenting as a fellow fan & a viewer. Hoping the best for your channel & thanks for the videos. Keep em coming!
Many thanks for your valuable input! Ive send their management my whole history as a musician so they would know that they will be interviewed by someone who knows whats hes talking about. They wouldn't agree i think if i haven't done that. But in any case they gave me a great shot here, many thanks for them. As you said, im not an interviewer im musician and definitely i have like a zillion thing to learn. - Regarding the drink they had beers with them but they put in the back of the couch, i should have put some kind of a table in the front for to have their glasses. But that was back stage and that room actually had only these three couches nothing else. But that is definitely something to remember next time. - yes its very hard not to put your opinion about their career which leads to interruption. That's also something to train on. - The interview was cut out by their tour manager. There was zero time to do anything as a final. But next time i should watch for the time to leave a mi ute for that. Many thanks again 🤘🏼
Just 2 very humble and down to earth guitar legends. Love them both! Went to see Scorpions when they played 2 times here in my town during the Humanity Tour (2007 and 2008 I believe). Greatest memories. One of the Best concerts I ever went to
Trust me big people like them wouldnt even care about this detail. The important thing is the background of the person talking to them. Will they be asked crazy questions or questions they can relate to and have a meaningful conversation. My channel is new, but they were told about my whole career prior to their acceptance to do that. Life is not only followers and likes.
Now I understand why the new album sounds so familiar to me. I was growing up in the 80's and "Blackout" is my number 1 album with Scorpions. And also the"Lovedrive" album with the outstanding vocals on Always somewhere"
The name of the Danish guy who makes the Scorpion’s amps is Steen Skrydstrup. That is a mouthfull, so the name of his company has switched to Caveman Audio
You’re welcome. Skrydstrup is even difficult to pronounce for a native Danish speaker, so I don’t blame you for not catching the name. He makes great - and very expensive - products, though
I'd like to know how worked out the Leads behind the Vocals are, Mathias is the top dog for playing a lead behind a Singer and having the Melody push the Vocals. Did he just comp out a few takes and go with what sounded best, spice a few takes to get what sounded best, was it worked out in the rehearsal, or did he go home and process the part and write a outline of what he was going to play. And was there a bit of give and go with Klaus adjusting his vocals to fit with the part he was putting in.
Crazy world in my humble opinion is one of the most important albums, but if I'm not mitaken that's the 90s and of course "still loving you" and "rock you like a hurricane" those are from the 80s .... but anyway this is a great band !!! even Megadeth talks very good about them !!! they are already heroes, legends of rock and heavy metal !!!!
Its the same with the Ibanez Artcore awd82ltd guitar. Very inexpensive but GREAT GUITAR...Please check it out,it great ,then i put Seymour Duncan VINTAGE BLUES SET pickups in it and it became a guitar that's better than guitars costing 2 or 3 time more.

Big Scorpions fan here. Love Rudolf and Matthias, but Rudolph needs to allow Matthias to speak more. When one is dominating almost every answer the interviewer needs to be aware of this and direct questions to the one being shut out. The interviewer did this once, but needed to do it a few more times so the audience can also hear Matthias thoughts on these subjects as well. Long Live The Scorpions!
@ItsZep2012 your point is right. But i dont think anyone can control this. Some of the questions were asked for both. One was asked to Jabs, but Rudy answered...you know. That's the relationship in the band, Rudy is the founder and the songwriter of most of the songs, so I guess in his opinion h is entitled to answer.
I'm the US I like Engl and Hughs and kettner amps I'm surprised these German dudes don't play those or Diezel amps .although the Saldano's are nice , I'm not sure about the other ones they mentioned I'm sure their great. I like the modelers for fun around the house or rehearsal but i agree with them nothing replaces the real thing .at least yet . the Synergy pre amps are interesting. It's great they are still doing it scorpians are actually a little before their time pioneers of the so called hair metal genre , but truly melodic Hard rock
