Last year Unlucky Morpheus released a J-rock album called "evolution", which yes was different from what they normally do, but it was not really a surprise to fans that have heard a lot of their stuff. The band are so talented they can do many styles of music, they've done a swing/jazz/metal sort of thing, but most people will know about the heavier stuff they do. Fuki the singer released her inner "kawaii" voice for this one and cut back on her vibrato on this one. She is one of the most sort after singers in Japan, and has over 100 releases to her name, mainly on full albums. The guitarist with the headless guitar, Shiren, played in the 1st Kami band for Babymetal. The reason he used the headless guitar, is that he has an arm/wrist injury that almost finished his carer, and he find it difficult to carry the weight of the guitar. That is also why the shape of the body is different, it so he can rest it on his leg in 2 position, he also uses a stand for the guitar as well. The drummer, Fumiya, is just a beast, and maybe up there with the best of them. Never heard of them? Holy crud, Amaryllis isn't really all that representative, they have a *broad* spectrum. But as a drummer, you really have to check out "Black Pentagram" Live from Toyosu PIT. This track is from their latest album "evolution", which also features "The Black Death Mansion Murders", and with a title like that... yeah they usually are a lot more metal. Shiren (Headless Guitar) calls their style technical melodic speedmetal, but as I said, they are varied.

I don't know how you figured out that the singer was not doing her usual thing, but absolutely right. Their usual sound is metal with classical influences. Angreifer, The Black Death Mansion Murders, and Unending Sorceress are good examples.

Yeah, more anime/JRPG theme style, but technically they ARE a Touhou Project doujin band. Still a great song. For their more standard stuff check out, "Cadaver/Revadac," "Unending Sorceress" or "Black Pentagram"--both studio AND live, as there's a bit of a twist live

I would like to recommend a band Fuki, the lead singer, was in called DOLL$BOXX. They have a metal, rock, pop, synth sound. Their first album, Dolls Apartment, has a video for ever single song. They specialize in metal usually and had a background in touhou music (though not much is found in their official channel). The members are fun to watch and are very talented musicians. Very shreud analysis, they originally labelled themselves as technical speed gothic metal. They have a fantastic back catalogue and have a strong neoclassical vibe. They have been my favourite band since Children of Bodom
