David Ward, sue it does..at least for me. I’m installing Flooret Modin Rigid LVP in our home. The kitchen has 3 sheets of vinyl and the adjacent dining room has hardwood, which is approximately 3/8 of an inch lower than the vinyl. With these carpet shims they were showing, I can gradually ramp from the kitchen to the dining room with the LVP, which comes in 72” x 9” planks. The wider the better. Then I won’t need any transition pieces between the rooms. Problem solved!
I've never had any problems with doubling up the tactless. Obviously cardboard won't hold up. Unfortunately these days stores are killing the market and installers rates are dwindling. All our supplies/insurance/gas goes up and rates go down. Makes it hard to add any expenses. In the end it's about doing a good professional job and if you explain that to the customer and figure in the cost you got no problems. Find a store that will do that for you. In the end I only use these shims when i sell.
This is probably what I am looking for. Does this work between carpet, slate tiles, and laminate flooring (yes all 3 )as well? The two hard surfaces are of the same height.
I need a floor reducer or transition strip that will bridge together my 3 inch raised floor to the furnace room. I know its no big deal as the drop is hidden behind the furnace door but in case I forget and lose my step I need to make some kind of ramp sloping down on a 45 degree angle. At least I think so. Any suggestions guys? We had to install new subfloor in the basement over 2 x 4's so the floor is 3 inches higher in the basement than the ajacent furnace room and closet under stairs? thx
I like the side shims however shims have been around for a while. I have been using rubber ramps for quite some time. They work on concrete and wood. Also you can cut them with a knife instead of a saw the only downfall is they do not have the side shims so you still have to float out the sides with patch. The rubber ones are $30 per 4' piece with a 3/4 raise. So perhaps these are less expensive. Mabye post a link?
X I need a new job so far I have to get up and go for the best work I have done this before I can get it back at all I only need one and a friend to go on to the next one in
Knock the nails back on the strip and put another strip on top, than slap in some mud. It will take a few hours. With that extra time, I can usually find something else to do. But like I said, it depends on the price. If I can buy it cheap in bulk, it would be worth concidering. If you're charging an arm and a leg for a shim, I'ld have to say, "no." I just had an after thought. I guess I can buy some and offer the optional solution to the customer at an added cost.

I just pull up some carpet where they used overlapping layers of roofing felt. It worked great.
Pretty slick the end caps taper in two directions.
This seems like a great product.
similar to the stuff we used when doing a tar roof
Smooth transition
awesome...................some really smart beans out there, with fantastic ideas :)
Float out the sides of shim to eliminate having a trampoline on both sides. I Use Ardex products, they make an awesome concrete based patch.
I've been looking for this. I didn't see the vid on your website?
Does not tell me anything about solving my flooring transition problem.
Especially from ceramic to hardwood! Meh, I'll just build a custom piece of trim.

so how are you suppose to use these on concrete foundations? nice idea but appears to be of limited application
Glue it down.
what if its concrete floors? then goodbye carpet shims?
