With the move to incorporating more and more tent pole UB sets. Your idea about Wizards wanting to move to just a booster opening franchise makes sense.
As an LGS owner, I can tell you that i sell almost zero draft boosters. I sell primarily set boosters and collector boosters. I usually buy 6 draft boxes per release and 18+ set booster boxes. The set boosters will generally sell and the draft boxes just sit there. Right now I have no one drafting in the store. My MTG crowd is entirely Commander and sometimes prerelease.
This is the impression I've always gotten, the LGS I visit regularly almost always has loads of draft boosters kicking around for sets as far back as Kaldheim that just no one is buying, but for set boosters you'd be hard pressed to find anything older than like All Will Be One
Whenever someone brings up the topic of "What card would you show past players", my mind immediately goes to Questing Beast, aka the literal wall of text that most people can't even remember because it's so long xD If not that, then maybe Asmoranomardicadaistinaculdacar, just for the memes :p
Being fair, the wall of text wouldn't actually surprise them, because there were spells that were just as long, if not more so, to try and explain their effects. The wacky surprise is that a CREATURE has the wall of text, with a bunch of keywords and good stats.
Seth I also used to drink a lot of soda, Sparkling water aka seltzer helped me quit!!! If you're trying to be healthy switching to spicy water could help 😊
I can get in a draft consistently at like 3 or 4 stores. There's another 6 that try to fire but fail usually unless it's prerelease or something. Before C19 I could draft about every night, but that whole period kinda capped that, and this is where it got back to. But it's definitely FNM weekly drafts in Phx AZ.
14:00 I don't think that the change to play boosters will ACTUALLY change draft that much on average. It'll pretty much only add 1 or 2 rare/mythic cards to a draft pod as far as I can tell (unless the foil and non-foil wildcard slots have a relatively high rate of rares)
21:33 it's the worst of both worlds. Collectors like myself will almost certainly have the high end list cards be removed, to compensate for removing chaff. There's no way they just raise the level to be nice. They, as a company, have to try to extract more money without increasing value. Drafters will hate that not only can rare count be spiked, imagine getting the rate advantage and the chase List cards now that there's only 40. It's also BS these sets are designed for play boosters in mind, they can't design for standard in mind since WOTS. It's taken 4 years and it's still miserable. The set boosters have only been around since like Kaldheim right? And they design 3-4 years out, so that leaves this 1-2 year gap of play boosters likely sucking big time
More potential rares in Limited is a big oof. You play a whole game of interactive magic only for a single rare to hit the battlefield and make anything that happened previous irrelevant. The change is good for Arena rare drafters though so it's not all bad I guess.
Seth, gatorade is bad for you unless you are low on electrolytes. If you are sitting around doing nothing, you are overconsuming electrolytes. Best bet is to drink water and flavor it with sugar free mio.

I ran a similar list with 2x thoughtsieze but 4x of the 1b enchantment that shocks them and makes them discard. Really insulates your bargain options

Get an air up water bottle type thing. Puts a scent ring on a water bottle to trick your brain into tasting flavors when you're just drinking water.

If either side of Grabby Giant cost 1 less it'd be a good card. Really not that bad as far as commons go.
I doubt they would put a strike it rich into explorer/pioneer though but yeah

Zendikar Rising introed the set booster, they're pretty close to the 3-4 year threshold at least.

@saffronolive all diet drinks are worse for you then regular sugar drinks cause its artificial crap instead of real stuff
