Sorry if this is a dumb question, but in the last problem you showed us the quick way to get to 3%. I'm curious why that particular event is 3%. So the first instance (picking the green out of 25) comes out to a 24% chance. Then the second instance (picking the blue out of 24) comes to 12%. Is there a method to get to that 3% number using the 2 individual percentages of 24 and 12? Or am I thinking about this in the completely wrong way?
Great question! You're totally right! You can multiply the 24% times the 12.5%: 0.24 • 0.125 = 0.03 and that's another way to get 3%. Awesome idea in finding another way to do it! 👍🏼
