Free throws. Dallas was 64 of 94. 35 of 56 in Boston. Credit to the Celtics defense? They turned Luka over due to his injuries, but Dallas had more points in the paint and more boards. In the pivotal Game 2, Dallas missed 6 of 24 free throws. Boston made 19 of 20. In Game 5, Boston didn't score until 9:09 of the 4th quarter. Dallas missed 3 threes, a floater, a 15 footer, and had one blocked. This was the last chance to get back in the game. Hit those threes and two from the field, " boom", it's 86-80 Boston with nine minutes to go. Dallas missed shots, wide open shots. Boston won from behind the arc.
Luka is a ball stopper, he is not a true point guard. He is not a true distributor of the ball in the flow of the game. Basketball is a team sport. Luka plays me first ball, takes too many shots, while the rest of the team is waiting for his missed shots. He needs to play SG, SF, and stop playing ISOLATION ball. He turns the ball over too much in crucial moments. He needs to let the team get into a rhythm with others touching the ball and getting their shots in a timely manner. I don’t see how he can take almost 25+ shots a game and still win a NBA championship.
Tim fits in at ESPN….🗑️
