    Cuarentena for me was just about taking it easy on myself and giving my body time to heal, nothing as strict as our mothers did back in the day, but I definitely tried to keep baby healthy and germ free and fed.

    Bryan being so happy telling us Noah is 1 week 🥹💙 father of the year 🙏🏼. Mayra breathe ! I feel like after Bryancito is understandable that with this pregnancy/labor/birth/postpartum you were gonna expect the worst but just be positive and everything will be ok. I’m sure you’re seeing how great and amazing things are getting now.

    None of the women in my family(both sides- dads and moms) have done a cuarentena. And I’m sure I got out in the wind and my milk supply was great. 🤷🏻‍♀️ It’s all about what you feel is right. I love that we can all be Mexicanas and still be unique in how we do motherhood. Respect! ❤ So happy for you!

    The mommy milk last 4-6 hrs sitting out after pumped 6-7 days in the fridge and 6 months in the freezer!!!! I just had my baby girl 21 days ago via C-section!!! Baby Noah is adorable!!!!

    • @Ella_Salinas
      @Ella_Salinas Год назад +17

      Wrong freshly expressed breast milk is only good sitting out for up to 4 hrs , within the 4 hrs it needs to be either fed to the baby or put in the fridge/ freezer . Once it’s in the fridge it’s good for 4 days, within those 4 days it needs to either be fed to baby or put in freezer , once milk is in the freezer it’s good for 6 months (normal freezer) or 12 month in a deep freezer. This is going off cdc guidelines , hope this helps (:

    I don't do Mexican traditions..however taking time to heal rest, and really just bonding with you baby is always recommended. You and your very supportive husband have been through a lot the last 2 years..you both really need this. Most people have to work in jobs where there's no maternity leave for mom and dad so can't afford to lose work. Others may not have a supportive family to help so that may be why not many do this tradition. You two are blessed with the support of each other and your families and that's all that matters. Take your time..enjoy the moments with your new baby and best of all make lots of new memories....

      They wouldn’t be a good doctor if they advised otherwise. That’s why they always check your legs after birth to make sure you don’t get a clot.

    I believe on the cuarentena because my mom use to say that right now we might not feel anything because we are young but when we get old that’s when we will feel everything, but sometimes it’s hard to follow it when we have our babies in the niccu and we have to go to the hospital every day. I would put jackets and cover my ears or use beanies but it was hard in so many ways. You guys are doing great Mayra congratulations again 🥰

  • @lilyperez19
    @lilyperez19 Год назад +8

    A home cooked meal after recovery is the best but sometimes gets tiring. I didn't follow my 40 days after giving birth to my daughter because I was busy going to appointments and I had COVID after a month. It was the worst and on top of that I had the baby blues. Everyone is different, but you are doing great and enjoy the newborn stage with your baby boy and husband it goes by fast 🥺

    As a nurse best thing for feet swelling is keep them elevated, avoid anything with sodium, and definitely avoid ALL soda. Also try soaking your legs in Epson salt . I was a walking dead woman from fluid building up during covid. Thanks to my old pcp ignoring my demands for an ultrasound on my legs it damaged my right main heart valve and it also made the right side of my heart enlarge. So please sweetie if you continue to swell go to the ER or urgent care. You and Bryan have been through hell and back, I hate to see something to happen to you. Our youngest was borderline jaundice I would put her in the bassinet and let the sun hit her, of course with the blinds closed. Be safe and have a wonderful week love you guys God Bless 💜 💙 💙💙

    Definitely schedule a lactation appointment at your hospital. Breastfeeding is hard! And can be painful if he's not latching properly. I combo fed my daughter for over a year. But my #1 tip for combo feeding is to mimic the flow of your breast when bottle feeding. The nipple on the bottle must be the slowest flow the brand makes, and feed him in an upright position, not laying down. It will get better!

    Definitely did somewhat of a cuarentena, I was on week 3 at a basketball game lol. My mom kept telling me about r the cotton balls in the ears but it was kind of annoying. And about the covering your back I heard i does affect the milk supply but I feel like it affects more your back. Either normal or c-section delivery. I definitely feel more back pain at 6 months postpartum didn’t fill it much at the beginning. As for the milk supply my dropped because a girl was really going through postpartum depression and I had to choice my mental health. My baby needed a happy mama. It was very harsh on myself with pumping and trying to breast feed but it was so hard I gave up 1 month after. My respects for those mothers are able to pump and breast feed that another full time job in itself. Congrats on your bundle of joy Mayra and Bryan ❤

    I’m Hmong. In my culture the mother and baby stays home for a whole month, the mother is on a boiled chicken and rice diet the whole time, we cannot enter anyone’s home until the month is over,if we go out to the grocery store or walks etc we have to be covered up especially our head and face area. Nowadays the “chicken diet” has been substituted by pork or beef as well. As long as it’s cooked clean with no grease. Some mothers don’t follow the diet period lol. The list goes on but those are just a few important things. 😁

    To produce more milk 🥛(•)(•)
    Do this no joke(unless you’re allergic to it)
    Toast on a non stick pan with nothing other that sesame seeds until brownish color or they start jumping… then put it in the blender with the amount of sugar desired until powdered, then add the milk of your preference. One bag of sesame seeds makes a gallon of this mixture with milk, lasts in the fridge 7days and you can drink it as often as you like…. You’ll be supplying milk like crazy!!! And it tastes amazing kinda like peanutty like. Anyone can drink it also but this helps lactating mommas alooooootttt No Joke!

I do have myself covered up and warm. I wear long sleeves after all my babies and sweats or long pants. Stock up on socks. I do feel like if I keep myself cold my bones ache more and that’s one of the things they say.

    Congrats again on the amazing arrival of baby Noah. 💙 ; ok, so I haven’t been able to do the quarentena with both of my kids because I guess as I decided to have kids after 30 years old, I didn’t get the help you would usually get. It was super hard with my daughter because I ended up having an emergency c-section. My family told me “ah pues” and said they couldn’t help at all. I did it alone with a 1 year old and a newborn while my BD worked 16 hr days. My c-section incision ended up opening, I caught aire & the headaches were horrible. my recovery was really rough. With my last and final baby, I’m getting a repeat c-section with a tubal ligation and the doctor literally told my BD, someone has to be with me for at least 3 weeks helping because I need to heal and recover. So hopefully this time it will be easier.

    Yes Mayra , take care of yourself after having the baby’s cuz the body goes through a lot . I was in cuarentera for almost two months on my first pregnancy and i will also use. Faja and I’ve noticed I did loose a lot of weight , but with my second child I didn’t do much of the cuarantera and now I’m suffering from body aches and I didn’t wear a faja and my weight is hard to loose so yes listen to your mom . Curentera is good for you and just have some time alone with your baby .

    I stayed home during my cuarentena and was covered up. I thought my mom was tripping but I went along with it. The one day I HAD to get out the house I had the worst migraine . I think it’s worth just just staying in .. you’ll have lots of time to go to many outings after.. I’

    Because you are pumping and nursing him, your “girls” are reading that as it needs to produce more which is why when you’re nursing him, it doesn’t feel like you’re emptying because you’re not. If you solely nurse, they will produce as much as he’s eating which will be as much as he needs! Then they will readjust and not feel as engorged. Let that not worry you either, your body will produce exactly what he’s needing! Your body will regulate and that engorged feeling will happen less and less which some ppl will read that as their supply dropping but it’s just your body regulating or adjusting to where it’s supposed to be. You’re doing amazing! Nursing and pumping is hard. I nursed all three of my kids (19mo with my oldest, 22mo with my middle, & 20mo with my youngest) and I always pumped in the beginning and it definitely adds more stress between cleaning and sanitizing the equipment and bottles, staying up extra to pump, & then just moving to do so when others are around so I applaud you!! Nursing is tough but you will get the hang of it in no time! Kellymom.com is also an amazing resource for nursing if you do have more questions about engorgement, storing milk, medications you can take when nursing and more!! Best of luck in your journey!!

    Cuarentena to me was more resting and not being out similar to you unless it’s important mostly because there is a pan size wound inside even if you feel fine you are still healing ❤️‍🩹 oh and wearing a faja!!!

    We have something similar to cuarentena in my culture. Mom and baby don’t leave the house for the first month. Most people break it in some way shape or form, so don’t feel bad!

    I had a c section with both kiddos. After my first c section my feet swelled up big. My second it wasn't as bad. Or barely at all. But I was also on high blood pressure meds with my second. And that helped. Obviously you don't have the high BP issues. All I can say is try and elevate your legs as much as you can. Maybe get compression socks? .
