I can understand reusing to save money for them when it makes sense. Though some of the reused accessories gets kind of lame inside the same toyline. At least if it's between different toy lines then there are more chances for you to get it, like that playset. It might be cool to get the Robin Hood one for your Star Wars figures if you wanted, may be cheaper than the original Star Wars one.
It took a bit for them to show their Tonka stuff in these books then, I have more booklet videos here: ruclips.net/p/PLkVjD6XP11VpnaiieHWMkxI7fDnl-SeHd
You had mentioned that you weren't sure if the Bill and Ted figures were actually released - they 100% were, but, for some reason, remain really obscure. I think everything shown in that booklet was released except for the motorcycle. Also, I am almost certain that Dark Knight Collection dragster wasn't released, because Kenner shifted focus to the Batman Returns line before it could be. Also also, the Robin Hood line not only reused Star Wars molds, but the figures were largely dominated by reused Super Powers bodies (Robin had Green Arrow's body, the Sheriff used Lex Luthor's, and so on)
That is strange how you don't see much of the Bill and Ted stuff. I figured there may have been a few unreleased things in the book as I remember seeing some in other books or even the back cards of figures! I didn't think about possible body reuses on Robin Hood so that's interesting. There are some Star Wars bodies as well right?
@@MBXfilms Yeah, I remember only seeing the Bill and Ted figures once when they were initially released, but never again - I only see them as unpackaged examples from vintage toy resellers now, for some reason. Considering they released alongside Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey, you'd figure there would have been more of a push. I don't think Robin Hood used any Star Wars bodies, because they would have been out of scale with the Super Powers ones (just slightly too short), but they definitely used a bunch of the Ewok stuff for the vehicles and playsets. IIRC, they also reused the Dagobah playset for Swamp Thing's swamp playset.
@@MakopoweredGaming The Phone Booth looks really cool for the Bill and Ted. Too bad DEATH doesn't look like the movie one. I was thinking Friar Tuck was a Gamorrean Guard body reuse as well as the playsets.
@@MBXfilms Oh, you're right! I forgot about Friar Tuck using the Gamorrean Guard body! And it is a shame Death doesn't look like William Sadler, but at the same time, I dunno how many kids got the whole Bergman Seventh Seal joke to begin with, so I understand why they went with something more... visually interesting.
@@MakopoweredGaming True but I did always want authentic colors and looks from my toys when possible. Still the phonebooth looks awesome but I never really watched Bill and Ted when I was a kid. So it's tough to think of them as nostalgic additions to my collection, but it's possible. I've been loving expanding my childhood collections for myself and for videos here.
Dig those toys catalog! A trip down memory lane, it sure does fun flipping those pages.
I'm hoping to do a few more soon. It's great to see and there are a few never made items to see also.
@@MBXfilms Yes! 👍
Gotta love Kenner toys during that time....
Two Michael Keaton toy lines going strong, kinda wild!
Just seen Michael Keaton just signed to Beetlejuice II
Two Michael Keaton toy lines, Batman and Beetlejuice, kinda weird when you think about it....
I just laugh at the Weok village playset being remade into a Robin Hood collection, LOL! Recycling FTW!

1991 was also the year that Hasbro acquired Tonka.
