Absolutely, that’s what brought me to the channel in the first place in 2016 when I’d just bought my boat and realised I’d need to learn how to look after an outboard; it was love at first sight. I’ve been boatless for a couple of years now but still loving the channel Stu, thank you!
Welcome back, We've all missed you!! Had to watch the bloody Kiwis for months. Cannot wait for the launch I am going to try and fly up. You make it look possible and give me inspiration to maybe do another boat one day
Laughed my head off with this one. As a former mechanic I'm really looking forward to you two blokes "expanding your operations" into some automotive stuff.
As a truck mechanic, I'm keen as to see Stu get roped into a truck restoration with Adrian. Got a couple good looking cabovers begging for a rebuild sitting there.
I hope I’m not the only avid female subscriber, been watching for years and yes, I’m a boater and I do all my own stuff. Wow, what a jam packed episode, so good to see Adrian again too. So many great parts of this episode but my favorite has to be the demise of the air horn and the “boat”... made me laugh so hard! Thanks for the great entertainment!
A note about running outboards with no lower unit - at least on some four-stroke Yamahas that I'm familiar with, the driveshaft has two sets of splines, the lower of which drives the oil pump. Not sure if other makes are the same way, but I came close to learning a lesson the hard way!
Appreciate the tip, definitely something to be aware of. My old four stroke yamaha drove the oil pump off the bottom of the camshaft but it's good to know that some models are different.
Bloody great to see you back on the channel again. Nice to see you and Adrian up to your old antics again. Can't wait to see your future ventures come to life. Keep safe and take care
I started out watching these videos when I had a specific job to figure out. It's now become my midday stress relief to watch something totally unrelated!
Much respect for your realistic approach to mechanics. The fact you can recognize what needs to be handled now versus what might an issue later is an art these days. Anyone can be a "replace it" mechanic. Thank you for sharing what a realistic and honest mechanic looks like 👍
Any video with you and Adrian in it is more than worth watching!!! Throw a cameo or three from Dame into the mix and that makes it an absolute must watch!!! Thanks for sharing, been missing you!
Started watching for the outboard and small boat maintenance, thoroughly enjoyed the Renko experience and now am happy to see more outboard/small engine content. Also looking forward to larger projects...
Absolute cracking video mate. Pleasure to help out, and for what it’s worth, that last iteration of the 3.3 prop looks much much closer to factory! Catch you soon!
The barge will be great. You can haul more toys and provisions and do some mobile mechanic work. You will need some more Cummins tools like metric and imperial adjustable spanners:)
I am currently restoring an abused 5hp mercury 4 stroke. Waiting on fuel pump and carb. Already serviced everything else including impeller. Y’all have a lot more fun working on em than I do but it is satisfying to get em back on water
It's been a while since I have tuned into your channel. I really appreciate Adrian's character. The type of guy you want as a friend. Best of luck to the growth of the channel.
Back in the 70's we had a 15hp evinrude, the prop pin broke, and we did not have a spare one available. A friend pulled out a steel nail, cut off the head and cut it to the proper size! The darn pin never broke again! Glad to see you back!
I am enjoying both the journeys of Renko and the dangar marine environments the detail of your projects enthralls me I am a huge fan of the crew you mix with both on and off the river
First, open heart surgery on an outboard while in the water, now extensive cosmetic surgery on a prop. You never cease to amaze and entertain. Well worth the wait between posts!
RIP Air Horn! Love to see the barge project. Years ago I built a pipe frame to set on large blocks of Styrofoam and then built a pile driver to mount on it. It was amazing the uses we found for the barge. I think hurricane Alicia finished it off, I left it at the t-head pier that it drove the pilings for. Nothing left there except the pilings after the storm. Glad I had moved my shrimp boat to a more protected dock. Looking forward to what ever you decide to do next!
Lerv Ya work, I'm sure the workmanship and ingenuity displayed on your outboard rebuild will have customers swimming to Dangar with their tired old outboards to be fixed :-)
stu, you need to stick with youtube, we all enjoy watching your antics, love your videos, also you have given me the confidence to tackle 2 second hand outboards myself...thanks
Bloody good to have ya back doing video stu! Looking forward to the new projects and especially the channel with Adrian!! Make sure you get Adrian throw in a little piece about the black and red kenworth that was in the background 👍 All the best 👍
Hey man love the videos, saw the post the other day if you're after a bit of work i've got an outboard that needs some attention in Sydney whenever you're back down
What a pleasure it is to see you two blokes again. Nice work Stu. Looking forward to the barge project, that should be brilliant. All the best mate, to the both of you.
Run down to the machine shop 😂😂. I do all this sort of dodgy stuff on my old outboard engines, great to know I’m not alone. If you can remember how you’ve bodged it, I find there’s a decent chance that you can re bodge it when it stops on the water. If you’re the sort of mechanic who just fits new parts, you won’t have that part with you when you need it.
Hopefully everything thing works out stu the Renko videos where so amazing and all the boat repair videos help people a lot so thank you so much for doing RUclips.
Hey stu I guessed I have missed what’s been going on with your personal situation, hope all is good mate, always watch all your content, you’re a great RUclipsr
If you stop off at a Honda or Suzuki Powersports dealership they have a carb cleaner that actually cleans out that varnish old fuel. Over the counter parts store barely touches it I find. But the Honda and Suzuki stuff will melt your rubber gloves when you work with it!
Love the hacks. Nice to see others around the world saying "I'm not paying $125 for a prop when I can just reengineer this $10 one." It makes "yachting" much more affordable.
Bloody marvellous, made my Sunday. Two damn good mechanics just taking the pee over a beer whilst sensibly working through fault finding. Couldn't think of a much better way to spend a Sunday morning or any better company. Cheers.
What an eminently satisfying video. I like your interaction and joking around, but when it come time to work you’re focused. It’s so amazing to watch people who really know their stuff. Well done.
Stu so great to have you back. Plans sounds amazing and I'll be keenly awaiting the coming video. Glad to hear you're feeling some love. Equally your videos are a huge motivation for me to keep going and moving forward. Can't thank you enough!!
Never knew I could miss watching a man Work on outboards so much.
Same 😊
More outboard vids to come! 😊

Thank you too!
Stu, you are legend... you have to keep this channel going for all our sakes
Thanks mate, I’ll try my best!
Nice to see you again. Just did work on my Yam F40… gear oil change and engine oil
the relief when it starts, so good, you two are very funny

What a pair of very skilled people the sort of you tube influencer that makes me want to watch.

Thanks Nena!
Does the boat still float? lol. Pretty hard to imagine.
Hi Stu and Adrian, That was a nice cab over there, the red and black. good seeing your vid stu,
It is a beautiful truck. Adrian has the port side chassis rails out at the moment to repair, will show more of that in a future video.
@@DangarMarine I use to drive cab overs in the early 80's in the USA.
Adrian and Stu - dynamic duo! That was great new years present Stu, thanks mate. All the best to you guys!
You’re welcome! 😊
Cheers to You and Adrian working together more!!! Time to buy some Cooper’s beer stock!!
I agree, enough of this VB nonesense. ;)
Really looking forward to seeing the new joint RUclips channel. Wish I could contribute to your shenanigans 😜.

Adrian and Stuart show hard to beat.🤣
Stu working on an outboard again, together with Adrian! Best of both worlds 🙂!!!!
Holy balls Stu - a 1500km bike ride on that dirt bike?! That’s a haul, and it took a serious beating on your hair, 41:23.
Yes, welcome back Stu. Missed your videos.
I started out watching these videos when I had a specific job to figure out. It's now become my midday stress relief to watch something totally unrelated!
I have one of these I use as a trolling motor on my 16.5 foot freshwater fishing boat. Neat little unit and super light weight.
I'm really impressed with it, more than I thought I would be.
I always thought you were a professional man and the propeller alterations just confirmed it.
LOL

I really missed the videos about outboards repairing/servicing with a great explanation. Following the channel since 24K subscribers were there
Thanks mate! Many new outboard videos about to be uploaded starting from this weekend
Liked the airhorn destruction...lol. Very interesting result when you reduced the cord on the prop blades.... Good Work!
