  • Normally, screw drive systems are used for platform elevators rather than conventional elevators. They work by having a metal rod with a spiral cut into it, which spans the entire height of the shaft like a large screw. Mounted to the side of the cab, there is a counterpart akin to an oversized nut that can be rotated by a motor which is also attached to the cab. Thus, by rotating the aforementioned "nut", the cab can be made to go up or down. While the system is quite simple and thus likely cheaper to build than other drive systems, it is also very slow and noisy due to its design, which is why it is not commonly used for conventional elevators.

    Auch dort das Problem mit den Graffitti - Säureverätzungen an den Scheiben 😱.
    Das Zeug ist echt gefährlich und man kann dauerhhafte, schwere Schäden davontragen.
