hearing an extremely cheerful elf go "Well, I AM quite the heavy drinker!" was the highlight of the campaign so far
Recon joining the party and instantly antagonising tekking's character in the most aggressive manner was so fucking funny
The fucking Mickey Mouse voice with the aggro attitude was hilarious 😆

Now that Briggs is the dm, he like "Fuck it, we ball"
He's literally me.
And Briggs made it work well too which is amazing. Playing D & D with Rustage for 4 years I would assume gets one decent at improv.
@sirbilliam3455 Sometimes as a DM, you get Way more bang for your buck with an idea than expected. Which considering Briggs said, 'I didn't think this was gonna happen.' and such, we definitely had one of those moments.
Briggs and Tekking are really a dynamic duo of their own. 3 dnd podcasts and yugioh!

I havent seen episode 1 and 2 but if Recon is this crazy then i gotta check this series out! This was awesome.

@@BriggsADA still, first experience such as this one are reason why many people think D&D sucks as they tried it and it was terrible. Yes lot of blame falls on them for making such character but as DM you had more than enough power to mediate the situation or clarify to tekking not to be so aggresive. Frankly i personally blame tekking the most because of his circumstantial place in this campaign. With first time DM you have your hands full with DM stuff and out of all the players in campaign tekking is only one with any D&D experience whatsoever. In one piece D&D rustage took initiative and pushed upon tekking decision to be a captain and assume role of a leader as someone with most experience in dnd. In this campaign Tekking comes of simply as a bully abusing his knowledge to gain unfair advantage by misusing the spells and abusing your lack of knowledge of game. they way he used command in first session is not valid and is against rules but you would need lot of experience as dm and player to understand what he did wrong so you had no chance to know what he was doing wrong. And in this session he assumed the role of protagonist even though narratively speaking Animeuproar currently has the mantle.
To summarize yes it is recon's fault for making hostile character who antagonized the party first chance they got and refused to compromise, but it is far more tekkings fault for being a bully and finding reasons to ruin someones first D&D experience. AnimeUproar was only one handling this session properly, they gave Recon many outs even though it makes less sense for his character to want this guy in party than Tekkings does and only when Tekking showed he has no intention to deescalate situation and wanted to remove new player from the session is that uproar gave up and let them do whatever they want.
D&D is about imagination and improvisation and rule no.1 of improv is to always say yes. if something you dont like happens say "yes but...", tekking broke this rule by saying "no, fuck that" over and over
i was watching the first episode just after it was livestreamed. had to catch up a lot of rustage episodes on both dnd groups and now finally come back to this here. 2 days ago i watched the second episode and now i'm gonna continue until i'm caught up.
and i really wanna tell you something: it's obvious you are DMing for the first time, obviously it won't be any good. but you mega balls make you do it live for an audience anyway. with animak it's also clear he has never played this. and now it comes: BUT this is so much fun. it's just you all having a great adventure. it's cute when tekking and truck-chan help you out. i find it hilarious whenever animak is 200% roleplaying while still explaining to the group and viewers what he thinks.. honestly man, it's just wonderful seeing the beginnings of a group like this. with people i love listening to in podcasts and videos anyway. and i'm sure you guys will grow a lot, especially in these first few episodes. but even if you wouldn't, it has such a charm and is such good entertainment :3 i love you all so much

loved this episode. really a good showing of the party's dynamic building (especially with only two established party members present) and recons character being so delusional and erratic im excited to see how it all shakes out (keep it up guys!
Can we please have recon as a recurring villain? Not necessarily as dingle every time he could be different antagonist characters or bounty hunters

Not objectively right but something I like to do for my players when rolling hp is let them roll once then let them decide to either take that roll take the average or re roll but they have to accept the new roll. It avoids irritation of players when they roll a 1. Just a suggestion (the none magical kind) also I want to comment on every video now that I found this to boost the algorithm.
I let them re roll critical fails for hp, but your idea is interesting

..... does this campaign even have a schedule? i feel like they could've just waited the uploads seem random anyway i'm not hating or anything i just dont understand how there can be scheduling issues when theres seemingly no schedule
We stream every other week on Thursday 2pm est. Somthing came up for truck and considering what I had planned I figured I could make it work as a dm. Rather than rescheduling for what seemed like at least a week with everyone's schedules sadly

I am still adament that ranged attacks automatically killing is stupid. If you aren't skilled enough to shoot or powerful enough that you can control your magic to not kill someone you don't want is nonsense....

I can't control what recon does. He's lucky the party didn't just kill him and call it a day lol. If he wanted to be involved he has to roleplay a way into the group so he could be involved imo. They tied him to a tree and left based on his actions
@@BriggsADA Oh i agree he fucked himself in that first interaction, but you could have asked the other two, who are quite consistent in their talking, to quite down for a second and ask what Recon wants to do.
There even was a moment near the end were he clearly wants to say something but is talked over by the others.
No shade, just honest advice from DM to DM. I also have a very new player that is extremly quiet and needs to be adressed to feel comfortable to RP.
