The problem with Palantir is that their clients come from various industries and have differing requirements. It's challenging to train a model when the business requirements are wide-ranging. Ideally, you would want to identify companies with a more focused clientele. For example, Salesforce primarily handles sales data, which allows them to develop a model for a single use case. Alex, another fantastic video. I just love your technical approach to analyze tech companies - especially one as complex as PLTR. Also thank you for clearing up my confusion regarding customer growth and earnings. Please keep up the great work for giving me a solid roadmap to follow. Much appreciated.
Still 17X EV/revenue and over 200X PE, so I would like to see higher growth rates. Rule of 40 is always quite high on software companies with high gross margins feeding down to operating margins, so I don't weight that so much. I am long PLTR but got in at much much lower levels.
No matter how you sugar coat it, nothing you say (other than "I have faith in them") justifies its current price, even after the drop. Wall street doesn't say PLTR is bad, they are saying that it's way too expensive for how fast it is growing. They had to show perfect numbers every single time to justify their price, they couldn't, so the price dropped. Simple as that.
This is why you need to make your own assessment . How I look at it is really impressive to have high growth, launch new services AIP and remain profitable at the same time. Technology usually takes years if not decades to reach that level of success . The fact they are profitable shows proof of concept . I'm up over 600% in the last 18 months. This is just my opinion. I think everyone should do their own research and fact check everything you hear . And always protect your capital
PLTR. Valued at 45 billion market cap. Earning about 2.5 billion a year with fairly slow growth in absolute terms, not percentages. No idea of how big their TAM is since their services aren't clear. Given their growth rate and current revenues, their valuation should be closer to 20 billion or a 10 or 12 dollar stock price. Hype stocks like PLTR, NVDA, TSLA, and the like have whacky valuations because lots of demand for the stock regardless of fundamentals or actual worth. So you invest in them at your own risk when their valuations are high and hope you don't end up on the short end of the stick if a problem occurs.
You have some of the best content on the web, extremely knowledgeable, you understand the products and since watching this channel it’s been life changing. My question is, where can I find a list of the stocks you listed for ‘getting rich, out getting lucky?’
Thanks for the very informative video. I am convinced with the progress Palantir is making. I can accept the volatility as I intend to continue investing for the long term (at least 10 years) So I will DCA and build my holding gradually. Patience, for me, is the key. Thanks again. Onwards and upwards 👍
I don't smoke weed, but if I did, I would want to be smoking what this guy from RBC Capital is smoking. His mind is light years from reality. But actually his comments do have merit, in the sense that if you do the opposite, like George Costanza did "The Opposite" your investments will take off just like George's personal and social life took off. Also an interesting observation is this guy's rate of "eye blinking". A high eye blinking rate is a dead giveaway for stress. I'm curious if this stress may be due to knowingly stating something that you know to be untrue?
The problem with Palantir is Palantir. They are too smart for their own good. It can seem obvious what their tools can do to the advanced technologist, but to a less technical individual their value proposition is hard to distinguish amongst a much more crowded marketplace.
Good analysis. As a PLTR stockholder I've been more than confused by the market reaction post earnings and you helped resolve that disconnect. Suggestion, could you take a look at IOT?
PE is pretty high but not historically for a somewhat speculative growth stock. Great medium term stock. No guarantees but I’m confident their AIP will gain network effects as businesses will be pressured to adopt. Competitors will learn how to maximize its value which hasn’t really been unlocked yet and as the platform expands and improves it will be a game changer for many many businesses of all sizes. It’s pretty exciting tbh.
But to answer your question. People are chasing the short term gains they saw over the last year, it’s now on more stable footing and anything but far exceeding earnings will spark sell offs but it’s fine pretty normal for stocks like this. Just gotta believe in the long term vision and their ability to execute on their strategy.
I think a 45 billion company with P/E 166, net income 209M, and a share float of 1.89 billion is way too much risk for my conservative tastes. Lots of other companies to much more safely grow the portfolio. I think the real worth of the company is about $3.00 to $4.00 a share.
It ran 8% the day of earnings...then dumped but held above 20 so far. Many were calling for 18 and 16.....some "analyst" upgraded from 5 to $9. Lots of fud around a good company
Pltr doesn't have too much upside unless Karp is forced out. No consumer industry are willing or under pressure to step away to his AI approach. Karp makes $ by give AI technology to one ethnic group to eliminate another. The company was not welcome in S.F. before. And, many high skills AI engineers were quitting in recently that has told us something.
From their founding and backing PLTR has been a favorite. You illustrate why PLTR has yet to achieve its stride. These are early days, and this is one company building for a future we have yet to see.
Can anyone explain why the market cap of Palantir seemingly increased from around 50B reported by googling the stock about a week ago, to now almost 100B, when the stock price has moved in the other direction? Is this real and if so how/why? Or is it an error in the way google finance reports market caps?
I believe Palantir provides so advanced solutions in AI that investors and stock analysts don’t realize what is really going on. AI is extremely complex tech that only few can figure the outcomes of major projects. It is a matter of unlimited breakthroughs, way beyond basic IT knowledge, what makes most of us totally disconnected of the reality. It simply is not mastered by all, actually the majority of all lacks the comprehension of the new reality that AI brings all together and just see obvious things like games, voices, searches and so on. Financial market is becoming a rule of science if you are really on to tech stocks. It is difficult for most of people to understand what Palantir delivers. Let’s wait and see.
PLTR definitely NOT an AI company. It is a data mining company on top the of participle -> look for features -> Search/Translate algorithms. Or if you call it AI, then yes, it is AI but something people did in the early development of AI back in the 90s. Now it is big data with transformer compute, like chatGPT.
I’m always buying nvda, pltr, qqq = I win😂🎉 share counts! 57 rule of 40 is the best financials of any company besides Microsoft and Nvda boys! Learn 2 read these insane margins and understand how this scales ⚖️
PLTR will slowly fall into a blockbuster company once Ai gets integrated with companies to process data faster and better that’s my take but it’s got a few yrs on being bullish but def not a long term play
I think it will fill the gap $16 I’m long on it. I start loading at $10 I bought more at )7 My average was 8.50 I sold at 27. I bought $20 will buy more if drop
At 20% growth rate I believe they are fair valued right now. But I believe their growth will accelerate plus I don't think their inevitable S&P inclusion is priced in.

People are chasing the short term gains they saw over the last year, it’s now on more stable footing and anything but far exceeding earnings will spark sell offs but it’s fine pretty normal for stocks like this. Just gotta believe in the long term vision and their ability to execute on their strategy.
Do you think it is a good time to buy SMCI now? Thank you🤗
Love the video as always great insight
Excellent. Thank you!
I think a 45 billion company with P/E 166, net income 209M, and a share float of 1.89 billion is way too much risk for my conservative tastes. Lots of other companies to much more safely grow the portfolio. I think the real worth of the company is about $3.00 to $4.00 a share.
Earnings will multiply
Alex always great stuff. You make it easy to understand so I can make my decisions, Thanks
Glad to help!
Motley Fool has been pushing this company like crazy for the past year. Anything they push always raises a red flag for me.
Why do you say that? I was going to subscribe to them
No, they were not. PLTR was never recommended in any of their premium services.
@@sweetpea6230 their advise are garbage. Probably easier to make money by shorting their recommendations
Palantir consolidated and ready for run up to the next new level.
Wouldn't want to miss another big run-up by Palantir.
$40.
It ran 8% the day of earnings...then dumped but held above 20 so far. Many were calling for 18 and 16.....some "analyst" upgraded from 5 to $9. Lots of fud around a good company
Thank you for making this video
Glad it was helpful!
I hope it goes to $5. I need to buy more.
Great video as always! what is that website where we can look at companies rule of 40??
what about number of shares they print ?
Pltr doesn't have too much upside unless Karp is forced out. No consumer industry are willing or under pressure to step away to his AI approach. Karp makes $ by give AI technology to one ethnic group to eliminate another. The company was not welcome in S.F. before. And, many high skills AI engineers were quitting in recently that has told us something.
From their founding and backing PLTR has been a favorite. You illustrate why PLTR has yet to achieve its stride. These are early days, and this is one company building for a future we have yet to see.
Awesome! Thank you
Can anyone explain why the market cap of Palantir seemingly increased from around 50B reported by googling the stock about a week ago, to now almost 100B, when the stock price has moved in the other direction? Is this real and if so how/why? Or is it an error in the way google finance reports market caps?
Great work🎉
Excellent details .. Thanks!!!
May I ask which investments are good? I've been looking at a few different ones but want others' opinions as well..
What I think everyone need is a Financial Adviser, who can help you get in and out of any investment at any time and you'd sure be in Profit.
Karpie still selling PLTR stock like a personal ATM for Billion$?
why does it have such a high pe ratio?
Thanks. Finally somebody who understand Palantir correctly. But keep in mind they are closely tied to AI.
Off topic, would you be willing to walk through how you do valuations?
I would like to learn how others come up with their price targets.
They are sitting on 4 Billion cash. I am betting on them. I think the price is a bargain!
Great work. Congratulations on your videos. Best regards and a big thank you from Portugal.
Thank you from across the world!
Great video!!thanks!
Glad you liked it!
Omg, I parked next to their offices and never knew they were doing something!
A bigger deal than the bootcamps is that they released full AIP to any user with a free tier of $500/month given usage.
Even after Peter Thiel had his massive sell off?
It, and other market forces moved the stock from 23 to under 21 during the specific days of the sales.
I personally think long term it is a keeper, and I am a long term buyer, but what is our DCA strategy?
Did you see the deal today between POET and FOXCONN?
Oh crud, Tom's on with PLTR? Why am I all of a sudden worried?
Why are so many people saying that the valuation is too high?
