At this point... Does it really matter to anyone that he is a bear? At least as long as it's a typical D&D-is world, where you don't expect only humans to be sentient.
Was about to say this. Not only are there other non-human beings, but beasts can be awakened as well.
I agree.
Even if he is discovered for good, who cares? He's an intelligent and polite bear, and he even has his own translator. He's not some hungry beast. He's helping and being just as useful as any other intelligent race. And, if he is discovered for good, it means he doesn't have to hide his Bear nature anymore. An even better fighter!

This man is about to start his antagonist arc like Dib does. Sir Bearington has made an enemy for life and he doesn’t know it yet!
This inspired me to create a character called Cedric Faker that is a "artificer" that appears to be a human using dark cloak and a complete set of armor under it but in reality they are just a group of mimics walking around and his so called "inventions" are just one of the mimics transforming into a random thing while: using an ammulet, drinking a potion or casting a spell

I have been thinking about this since the first time I heard it, and, tbh, I think I know 2 ways how to play it...
1. Charlatan background will give you most of what you need, and you can easily get the endebted commoner from XGE, this is is your life. Next, as Inteligence is a minor stat and you won't play an Arcane Trickster or Wizard, convince the DM to grant you a lesser reflavoured Headband of Intelect (say in the form of a monacle granting you 15 INT) to reason why you want it, then keep going til you get wish and wish for the blessing of Titania to become a bear version of a Seelie.
2. Play a Leonin, reflavour as an awakened lion.
It's Chicken Boo but as a bear! 🐻
