Todd: Is clearly suffering from PTSD from the war and feeling the stress of living up to his uncle's standards.
Annie: BOO YAH
“I’m not fighting your wars anymore” deep.
All Todd's timelines are the darkest ones.
"no offense Todd"
Wait... How is he EOD with an Infantry Roundel? Was he directly attached to Infantry? Did he change MOS's?
She really is a sociopath.
todd definitely made the most of his screentime.. This and the terrarium episode are so good
"lots of things can be forced. Like a human head through a 6 inch drain pipe."
None taken...
He and magnitude have definitively proven that there are no small parts, only small actors
That quiveering look while Annie is celebrating is damn good acting. Remember this is supposed to be a sitcom that focuses on 7 main characters, yet the secondary ones were what really elevated this show.
@@apapods I wish there was an episode that only focused on the secondary characters.
1:22 Chang just dazedly standing there with his mouth open is priceless.
I know, lol, they captured Law and Order exactly
LOLOLOLOL
Ken Jeong said in the podcast that he committed to doing that for 30 minutes without breaking during the filming, just to make Alison laugh. He said that when she finished her rant and looked over to him she burst out laughing.
That's the face of chang
Better gig than guarding a trash can.
Todd felt for the Annie's Disney Face
Classic
I would have defused all the IEDs of dishonesty too
Her doe eyes. She became a monster.
Disappointing her is like choking the little mermaid with a bike chain...
She really is the ark of the covenant
I do not get why that works it would not work on me
“Objection I hate the both of you” 😂
😂😂😂
need I remind you that this is NOT a court
I swear this entire episode is just Todd slowly losing his grip on reality
Isn't that the entire show for him? I mean, with the turtle and all...
He also believes himself to be god. Essentially. Everyone can be god. His word
He _does_ act loopier in future episodes...
Season 6 he’s full on mentally unstable
he had a grip on it at some point? 🤔
I just noticed Chang in the background! He looks like he's narrating the whole thing in his mind and you don't know how much money I would pay to hear those thoughts
Where is he
Maanit Mehta he is in his officer uniform and you only see him some times.
he is the best part about this xD
He's the bailiff.
Whats the time stamp?
I like that little bit of side-eye Professor Kane gives Jeff when he talks about having "a code".
I loved that.
Great reference to "The Wire"
OMAR COMING
I came here to see this. "A man's got to have a code."
Omar looks up "No doubt."
No doubt
RIP
“Todd. I’m telling your mother.”
"You may proceed Miss Eddison but do so with caution. Need I remind you this is NOT a courtroom"
Favorite line of the episode. Professor Kane was brilliant.
The delivery is absolutely flawless
"A man's gotta have a code"
*The professors inner Omar activates*
No doubt
All in the game shawty.
Yo Omars comin!
I had seen this scene a dozen times but this was the first time I caught Annie's "always have an exit strategy" line delivered toward the officer who served in the Iraq war. Sharp.
As she hits him with an arms out shimmy lol
I feel so bad for Todd, i damn near tear up whenever they bully up
Me too. He seemed like a sweet guy, just trying to live a decent life. I know this is a comedy, but I don't get why they are constantly bullying him, like in other episodes they were so mean to him
Because group are priks, thats why.
@@Voronoff
Hey
@@Voronoff That's basically it. It's like the cast of seinfield when we find out how everyone else feels about the starring cast members to find out that people hate them. More than once, we've seen how much people in Greendale can't stand 'The Greendale 7' like when students commented how they actually felt like they were learning more when the group wasn't there because they had a tendency to make everything about them.
@@demoblaster Don't forget that the group nearly pushed Neil to the edge of suicide, Jeff by giving him the name Fat Neil and then Pierce by using that name.
They took control of the entire school's chicken fingers supply, Jeff and Annie made the Student President debate about the two of them, Annie leaked to everyone that Chang wasn't a qualified Spanish teacher and wasted everyone's semester, Troy and Abed started the blanket fort vs pillow fort war which Jeff escalated because he hated homework.
Everyone in the group ruined things all the time but Jeff is especially unbearable and selfish. And I'm also guessing that the Dean's obsession with this group simply because it is diverse didn't sit too well with the other students either. The guy literally warned them first personally when a fire broke out because he wanted them to escape first.
I never noticed Chang in the back 1:22 standing with his mouth open 🤣
He's the bailiff of the non-court
This is the scene Allison and Joel mentioned about the what they call "Chang tongue". Allison broke because of Ken hahaha
He seems like he's narrating the whole thing in his head
One of the best underrated Community eps.
This whole show is underrated
Der Typ everybody on the internet should be banned from using that word [‘underrated’]. It’s not enough for some people to just like what they like, it has to be unpopular as well, as if that somehow ultra-validates their opinions above most else’s because they appreciated something that few else did.
@@neontime8507 don't think it's inaccurate, I mean it got last seasons picked up by Yahoo and have never heard of it except from RUclips or looking up "who created Rick and morty"
It's not enough because some exec decides its not worth making more based on numbers alone, so yes that happened many times with it.
There are other series that got totally cancelled, so the reason 'underrated' because they get stopped before the plot even gets tied up. Ratings are not necessary indicative of the show, often publicity, network, time aired.
It's literally one of the best rated episodes on IMDB, you moron
so dramatic for a freaking yam 😂
I love the look on Jeff's face at 2:31 . It's like he's realizing Annie may be a better lawyer than him.
He is just thinking about what message he send to her. As he was a lawyer his intention was always to win & Annie is someone who always search for truth. Instead of truth she wanted to win. I think that is the reason why he was surprised
@@Pelztheo I think it's interesting that jeff can see how impressionable she is but doesn't question his romantic interest in her w scrutiny lol
For years I always thought the Law & Order bit of saying something cutting and defamatory only to quickly yell “Withdrawn!” was always a little much. The fact this episode plays that up makes me laugh every time.
"A man´s got to have a code". So good
That he do.
"I can only assume there's a female equivalent to that. A 'codette', or something..."
I wonder if had Honey Nut for breakfast?
The cheese stands alone.
It took me so long to realize it’s a “The wire” reference
"Objection, she's clearly wrapping up to something"
"Objection, that's not a real objection"
"Objection, i hate the both you"
love how the real use of the objection is thrown out the window
Ramping up*
"Need I remind you that this is *not* a court room?" - such a great line.
I love so many of Annie's facial expressions throughout this whole series. But this face right here 2:51 for some reason just gets me. It's my favorite one. She's so alive! She's such a magnetic and versatile character.
Her voice when she's says "Booyah" is also great.
"You may proceed Ms. Edison, but do so with caution. Need I remind you, this is NOT a court of law."
Brilliant.
3:05 shirley's thumbs up
You can almosty hear the high pitche noise she makes
Troy's lil nod and smile to Annie's victory dance @ 2:56
“a codette or something”
Toadette approves this message
BOOYAH! cracks me up every time..Community is the best but Alison is defenetely streets ahead.
Stop saying streets ahead
@@jafarm4443 its catching on. get with the times
@@run1c756 it truly is a verbal wildfire
Pick Britta.
@@jafarm4443 You're streets behind.
"I'm not fighting your wars anymore" this shit is too accurate to law n order
PRODUCERS: How can we make an incredibly hilarious show even MORE incredible and hilarious?
THE ENTIRE WRITING STAFF: Michael Ironside cameo!
I only hear Sam Fisher
"Wow, Annie. You're a real sociopath"
I swear I keep bursting in laughter at the very memory of the word “codette”.
I just noticed that todds uncle asks him is he intended to break the yam. He doesn't ask him if he broke it because he knew he was guilty
1:40 Annies starts talking about herself instead of Todd:
1. One orange splash in otherwise perfect record.
2. Is that why you start to pop pills and drink?
3. Are you a virgin?
Not really. The popping pills and perfect record comment fits, but she doesn't drink and she states early in the first season that she lost her virginity due to her addiction prior to the show.
@@genghisg is it to the guy where he turned out to be gay? 🤣
@@harizbadrulhisham3805 lol, yeah
"A codette or something"
Very underrated line.
"A mans got to have a code" nice The wire reference with omar sitting right there, beautifully placed, and acknowledged with the pan to omar
“A mans got to have a code” what a fucking reference. One of the greatest cameos ever ngl
2:33 Good Lord, I'd confess anything to that face
Annie is a monster, and I love her.
"But be careful might i remind you that this is not a court room."
I love how Chang is just sleeping while standing in the background
1:19 Ken Jeong lifeless look is pure gold.
Everybody commenting about Todd. His lawyer was Michael Ironside, who voiced Darkseid in the Superman and Justice League cartoons as well as playing the General in Starship Troopers. Come on you apes! You want to live forever!
This episode is honestly my most favorite.
If Todd didn’t have PTSD after his war experiences he certainly had it after dealing with the study group.
Annie should’ve been a lawyer and started a practice with jeff
Rest in peace Michael Williams :
Todd's face when Annie starts celebrating his admittance of guilt really put into perspective how crazy Annie is.
A real sociopath.
“Need I remind you, this is NOT a courtroom!”
I always come back to this scene for the “withdrawn!” moments but holy hell “defuse the IED of dishonesty” is incredible 😭😭😭
i love that todd is the same character in A.P Bio
Anyone else notice the subtle shout out to the wire and Omar little when Jeff says "mans gotta have a code" and professor Kane (Omar) looks up at him ?
Jeff is like Jesus what have I done
2:34 Disney face. Always works.
I love how this episode's moral is about having a code, while the actor who played Omar on the Wire makes a guest appearance, these writers are fantastic
Seeing Annie dancing in that suit awakens something in me
One of the best episodes!!
I always suspected in him in everything happens.
Honestly, this episode is a fantastic showcase of writing and acting from everyone involved, but the 'I'm not fighting your wars anymore' line just busts Todd's character wife open, it gives you so much insight into his life before the show and at home, jusg makes you wonder how many other people have felt pressured into going to war juat to appease family tradition and became scarred as a result of it
3:45 I like how Michael K. Williams looks at Winger when he said "A man must have a code", because it was a famous quote from Omar Little (Michael K. Williams character on the show "The Wire").
Not to be that guy but he looks at him cuz earlier in the episode winger heard him say the same thing and basically just copied him
Easily one of my favourite episodes
Todd later on became a shell of his former self to be honest if he was part of the study group would most likely be the most sane one
I love that chang is just asleep in the corner
the way chang stand like a statue in the background.. that a lot of commitment
This episode is the combination of LAW & ORDER with A FEW GOOD MAN. It's just genius writing
“Need I remind you that this is not courtroom?”
Love that 'a man's got to have a code' reference to the wire with MKW looking up. Rest in peace Omar
Took me ages to realize that Basic Lupine Urology is a reference to Dick Wolf
1:20 Chang looks like he's* just completely spaced out
Lol the courtroom drawing in the beginning
I love Todd so much😂😂the delivery the acting everything!,, but they were so mean to him haha
Rip ,one of my fav teachers on the show
No, uncle knobby I’m not fighting your war anymore
Col. Archwood is one this show’s best one-offs. He takes the ridiculous case of a dead yam as seriously as an actual court case. He 100% doesn’t belong here, and I love him because of that.
2:09 I always laugh at the Uncle Knobby part. It's such a tense moment but the way he says the name gets me every time
"A codette" is an underrated line
But will he admit to what happened to legos?
I mean it's not bad we just wanna know what happened
Annie and Jeff should have run a law firm
Oh Annie! If only Matlock had your boo yay style!
"God forgive me, I did it for love!"
Chang as the bailiff is the best part of this scene. He just kinda sits there in a chang.
It just dawned on me Jeff isnt the lawyer of this trial...when hes an actual lawyer.
This was the episode that finally broke Todd and turned him into the Joker in later seasons
1:22 changs face omg
Chang standing in the background of this scene is the cherry on top
Chang's posture in the background really adds to his character. The show was a gem.
Wow, these lawyers are slimy.
1:22 there it is!!! Ken trying to break Alison!!
Season 3 was so so good
"Is that why you're a virgin?"
(No objection)
"Withdrawn"
In the best top five episodes of all time
this is one of the episodes that shows how much jeff has grown
OMG I just noticed Chang with his mouth open deadfaced in the background in 1:20
3:05 thumbs up from Shirley
He wouldn’t still be a private after that he’d atleast be a specialist after that and he’d be a atleast have been a pfc at the time
Plus hé has an air assault badge I’ve never seen anyone lower than a pfc with that even in the 101st
God I love this show so much 1:21 you just barely see chang in the background looking out into space 😂 dude is absolutely gone
Ken Jeong's face at 1:21.
"A man's got to have a code." - Omar Little
Annie is a much better lawyer than Amber Heard lawyer.. withdrawn
I love how they got Michael Ironside, a man well known for military movies, to play his Uncle
This is the first time I've noticed michael k Williams look at jeff funny when he says "a man's got to have a code".
The references never end.
ken has the toughest role in this scene
