EDIT: A patch has been pushed out now and this bug that made the soundwaves invisible should now be fixed. So it's been reported there is a visual bug right now where the Blue and White waves do not show up, so you can't see which direction it is facing. That's... super annoying. My advice is to try find some old JP runs of the raid and watch where they show up and try to memorise them... You can also try memorise the skill description. There's a more complicated way of knowing which way the Blue/White way is facing by looking closely at the centre organ. The organ has a black side and a white side, and there is a strict order in which waves come out on either the black or white side. You can check the order in Greg's skill descriptions in game or on schale.gg. Hopefully they fix this because it's kinda a big deal. Not being able to just react to the waves visually makes the raid far more difficult than it should be.
Oh ok I was wondering why I couldn't see any of the color symbols and was going nuts... A bug... Hope they fix this very soon because it's impossible without seeing what you're doing...

well then as JP already proved we soon get YET another boss who NEEDS new students (sonic damage). Really takes much from flexibility or pulling for waifu , gotta go with meta a bit sadly this round.
for my experience is the debuff its self the problem. Minori its kinda tradeablenfornother unit that do thebse role as Maid Yuzu UE 40 for me and Nagisa. and Having Aru for more AoE dmg is handy too. yo yea S saki is core for me
I don't think minori is the core solver, she is just accelerating the progress. If there's any student I can call core, it would have been Koharu for keeping your tank and dps alive while turning organ and major debuffer like Saki or Mine, especially saki for enabling special students to dps.

I started playing a month ago lvl 41 by now, the game is fun and the girls are lovely specially Haruka, but now that I know the game have raid with mechanics like wow, I love it! Thx for the guide it's really well explained.
I really like how this TA is the only TA where you restart the whole segment no matter how much HP Gregorius had remaining. So the phases are time based (or music based if like it) instead of the usual HP based. No matter how much or how little damage you deal, Gregorius will never jump skip the performance. It is also one of the few TA where even if you have every required students, you still can't just faceroll it. It's a fresh experience from usual rotate ako himari and one dps girl to boom the boss.

Thank you for the guide, I decide this is the 1st raid that I stay at Hardcore. The required students for this raid are just too much for a F2P like me to go invest on new students & learn all of those mechanics. Hell, I will even consider quitting the game as a whole when the Sonic Boss raid come out in the future.
I'm just very happy I have a fully upgraded Cheer Hibiki. She's the reason I'll be able to get this one in Extreme because damn, I miss all the other key students

i must say i give up with this boss, i dont haave any good debuff char yeah and pretty much i just die and goes on until i run out of student so time to give up
i completely disagree in that the boss doesnt feel bad, the fight mechanics are clearly there to be exploited, but that doesnt change the fact that of the 10 or so core students needed for a reasonably comfy clear, 6 came out in the last 3 months, and the others are permanent units that saw little usage before the boss, so a lot of people skipped them (Reisa, Mine, etc) so yeah, i think this is the Dev's first massive L, Kurokage kinda is too, but Sonic is not as restrictive as people think, not to mention Ichika/Kasumi where well spaced with Vol.5 characters usefull for the fight in conclusion, Greg fucking sucks, JP hasnt had Hiero for a year, and i hope the same happens with Greg
As a lvl.79 newer player who only plans on clearing up to extreme, is there anyone I can borrow to do a comfortable one team clear? The only team slots I have planed out for now are Nagisa and Koharu with maybe maid Yuzu or s.Miyu.
minori is the best dps on this raid, considering the 😎 mood, extreme will be baby mode with her, just know u need to survive long enough for minori to do enough dmg 👍
Yep as the comment above said, fully maxed minori is the best borrow option. You'd just need striker students who could survive while minori gets the job done.

Can barely even keep track of the counter and all the enemies spawning, my student abilities and hp, but the need to keep track of the organ thing is already ridiculous... Not to mention you need to also have a student to actually attack it, or you're gonna spend a lot of your aoe! Can't even do the lvl 50 one without an assistant... Well, granted, i'm lvl 50 myself
how do I tell what debuffs can stack with what, since my debuffers are NY Haruka, Nagisa and Mine but Mine was overkill in terms of debuffing so I swapped to Akane but im guessing her debuffs dont stack with Nagisas and I have no idea who else to bring as a unit to be the 5th debuff

I actually don't think i've seen it happen before, but I wouldnt be surprised if you could. If it is possible, the timing on it would be very awkward because to build Groggy you need to knock the choir down. Since you usually want to knock the choir asap so they don't murder your team, it's unlikely you'll line up the groggy timing with an organ you don't want. If you manage to make it work though, all the power to you!

I really don't undestand how people can think this fight is overwhelming when it's literally scripted and the same every time. Raids in game like FFXIV or WoW are way heavier mechanincs-wise. Even Dragalia had more depth in some fights. Awesome video, btw
It's related to target audiences. Gamers like yourself who are seasoned and well played will be fine, especially with how alike they tried to make this boss compared to actual MMO's - but seasoned MMO gamers are usually the minority of people playing Mobile Gachagames. The vast majority of players playing Blue Archive are just regular casuals who might not be so experienced with games and don't have the broad range of experiences they would have picked up from playing other games for years or even decades. I'm like yourself and have played games for many decades, and I was able to intuitively pick up Greg's mechanics quite quickly. However I fully respect that not everyone has the same experience and I'm happy to help people catch up in the knowledge gap to hopefully make what *should* be a casual game actually a bit more casual.
What even is this game anymore.. why would they keep pushing super complex bosses out? I mean it's cool but it's too overwhelming for the majority of the players. Even worse is that they don't teach you at all how to fight the boss and you have to look it up yourself from youtube or something (if guide videos even exist at all)
It is indeed the worst designed raid boss so far. If you don't have the specific students you'll have a hard time even in extreme difficult but if you do have and invested a lot on them you can even clear torment with 1 team. I managed to 1 team clear torment since I do have those specific students at high investment.
yea, its just so dumb. even when ppl claims this is very heavy mechanic wise, thats just far from the truth lol, mechs are so basic is easily the simplest part about it. having the cc countdown bugged also makes this incredibly inconsistent to do because theres just no guarantee on how the boss will turn out every time u mock battle... ah yea, ex can be dumb but the cc countdown is just so much more manageable that even if u only manage to keep it yellow, still killable due to being not blatantly overtuned as insane +

Considering who I have vs who I don't, I feel like Mina, Reisa, Shigure, Rumi, Saya and S.Miyu would make a great team for Greg.
Apparantly there is bug that cause dmg to the choir not reflecting against greg during JP initial release
This only applied to 2/7 of the choir members on the 2nd and 3rd minutes iirc. Global may have this fixed

Atsuko fills both tank and team healer role, so its probably advisable to have her somewhere in a formation
Atsuko can't tank for her life here because Greg is Blue attack type. Extreme and below, sure, but just use Koharu.

DOT adds to the counter, but it does not spread from Greg to the Choir. They may have been getting it confused.

no, it is not two way. you'll need to put the debuff on greg itself so it reflects its debuffs onto the choir
