Been there 4 times and enjoyed every one. Take a safari tour of the island if you go back. It gives you a really good view of what the island has to offer. We loved it. The Appleton rum factory tour is one of the best we’ve been to in the Caribbean. Happy travels and thanks for sharing. You made me want to go and book trip 5! 😎

Kool hack. Use a credit card from your banking institution and ask the business to charge you in Jamaican dollars. Your bank will give you the vest rate and there are no foreign transactions fees with most credit cards.. Save the cash for craft markets/safe street foods.

Great video! Just got back from a fantastic week in Negril. Been there 10 times over the last 40 years. Great beach atmosphere as you said, and never once felt unsafe. In fact, there are way less hawkers on the beach then there used to be. Love the Jamaican people.

Hi Debbie, I'm wondering if you'd be open to sharing a little information on transportation in Negril, since you're so familiar with it. My sister and I are considering renting a car, but we hear it's dangerous to drive. What do you do when you go, taxi, hire a driver or rent a car?
Sure! I have rented a car, but I prefer to hire a taxi or a driver to get around. A taxi from MBJ to Negril should be around $100 USD. You can arrange transport through your hotel. Shorter trips within Negril were fairly inexpensive. Be sure to use licensed taxis. You can also book a day trip to see some of the bigger sights on the island. Happy travels

If you're staying at the beach, take a taxi up to the cliffs for dinner or sunset. Many people go to RIck's Cafe to watch the sunset but it is very touristy. We really enjoyed Miss Lilly's Restaurant at Skylark on the beach. Lonely Planet Jamaica is a good resource for info. Also, go to the market to buy coffee, hot sauce, spices, or whatever you want to bring back with you, rather than a gift shop.@@InfinitelyBlessed

You hit all of the well known places, I'd like to see you go up into the interior of the country, and the east side of the island around Port Antonio is much less touristed and would be interesting to show.

Port Antonio is very beautiful! Frenchman’s cove and Bourbon Beach, along with the Blue Lagoon are a must.
Portland is definitely the main place on our list when we go back
We stayed at Ocean Coral Spring resort it’s all inclusive and is an amazing place but I think it was about $500 US per night

Grenada “Spice Isle” is a gem island.
I love your videos. This was a different style. The voice over style is ok but I prefer the way you used to film and chat with the viewers as you toured. It felt like we wee with you on the trip. This feels like a travel video you would see on.pbs or a tv travel channel. Very informative but more formal. Jamaica looks beautiful! Beaches look gorgeous. I hope you back to your normal vlogging style!

Next time go upto Blue Mountains stay in an area called Holywell beautiful mountain views of Kingston much cooler weather will drop down to single digits celsius during winter months, if you like bike riding and other outdoor activities lots of trails and waterfalls and might even spot a deer if go over to Portland side of mountains
Definitely would love to see the mountainous region there. Many people told us that Portland is their favorite place and not as touristy as the other places mentioned in this video. Will visit next time for sure :D
@@JumpingPlaces it very reminiscent of Domonican Republic east coast, see you have been to Puerto Plata went there myself recently so would compare Portland to east of Puerto Plata going Sousa/Nagua region.
One of your best videos. We enjoyed the fast pace and details. We've been to Jamaica several times and to be honest Did Not enjoy that island. There is too much focus on how dangerous the locals claim that place can be. We hired a tour guide as everyone from the resort front desk staff to the tour guide kept warning us how dangerous it was to venture out on our own.While that may be true it seems that once we had the local guide everything went well. Not sure we were wanting to be scared that entire week.Montego Bay being claimed to be the most dangerous it was there we felt we were staying in some sort of 5 Star jail. Ocho Rios beach vendors made it impossible to relax and enjoy the sun and just relax. Maybe the answer is to keep switching places like you seem to do and not get overwhelmed.
Yeah I think some resorts actually want you to be scared so you stay in the resorts and use their tours and guides etc.

I usually research before planning a trip and I end up over researching. I have read all Caribbean locations have Sagassum ( sea weed ) issue, I am planning a trip with my family ( 2 kids - 2 year old and 5 year old). All the beaches in your video looked Saraggsum free , but probably that was in Jan so, for June would you suggest these same places and beaches? Looking to soak some sun, travelling from Toronto.
sargassum usually hits more the east/south coast more in the caribbean since its coming from that direction, i think north coast and west coast wont have any issue in jamaica which is all these places

I know you two are careful where you go, but today the U.S. State Department just put out a warning travel advisory to Jamaica ( 65 murders within the past 2 weeks). Have fun, stay safe!
They were in Jamaica a while ago so this doesn’t apply to them!
None of those 65 are tourists. Gang violence and deaths doesn't really involve tourists

Any sand flea issues on 7 mile or bloody bay? Any worry about the dengue outbreak with the mosquitos??
Didn't have any issues when we went, in other countries those things can depend on the month so not sure if they have it sometimes
@@JumpingPlaces going out first time in May… was just reading about jamaicas dengue outbreak.. it will real bad in the fall. Their health minister says he expects it to last into this year. It’s type 2 dengue the mosquitos are carrying. I’m a bit concerned.
If you click on Jamaica it always gives you warnings. If any state department won’t give out any warnings people would complain . So they want to make you aware . In the end it’s still up to you.

Went to Montego Bay in late 2022.
Not a fan. Felt threatened outside of the resort & restaurants. Always followed by 6 aggressive locals. Workers at resort were not pleasant & ignored us a lot. We would like to love it. Many do. It has beauty. But unfortunately also a lot of poor and violence.

Probably the Dominican but we have also stayed way longer there and seen many more places so not much of a fair comparison. Definitely liked the reggae vibe in Jamaica though.

We didn't see anything, US said that because there have been 65 deaths in January which is obviously very bad but none of those are tourist deaths. Gang related deaths don't really affect us on vacation since we won't be visiting those kind of areas. It would be like saying don't visit the US because there are deaths in some violent hood which is completely not a tourist destination
That's one of the reasons we didn't visit Kingston though because we heard it is more sketchy there. I think the US also advised against visiting the bahamas

I am planning a trip to Jamaica soon coming from South Carolina USA . I visit the Bahamas 🇧🇸 all the time . I belive that warning is stupid , the Bahamian people are some of the nicest I have ever met in my life . I feel safe in every Bahamas town and city .
You just have to use common sense anywhere in the world and stay away from trouble which most do on vacation anyway

Nice beaches we were on 7 mile beach. Enjoyed walking the beaches and the red stripe. Cant smoke weed which I thought was strange and everything is a rip off. The tourist side is totally different than the rest of the island of scams. Been there done that next...
