Based on a novel by Dodie Smith, the movie is set in 1970s London during the punk rock revolution and tells the story of a young hustler named Estella (Emma Stone). Estella is a bright and creative girl who is determined to make a name for herself with her designs. She makes friends with a pair of thieves who appreciate her penchant for mischief and is able to build a life for herself together on the streets of London. One day, Estella's fashion sense catches the eye of Baroness von Herrmann (Emma Thompson), a fashion legend with devastating style and frightening elegance, but their relationship sets off a series of events that lead Estella to embrace her evil side and become Kuyla, who is equal parts crazy, stylish, and vindictive!
