Absolute monster techno machine.
sounds wonderful !
Glad to see they expanded on the Patternator. It was about 5 years ago I emailed Tom and suggested this. Its a fantastic way to come up with new ryhtms and now it looks even better.
Reminds me a lot of a stripped down Generator (which is one of their sequencers). It is awesome...
how does it work?
Sounds so great and looks super fun to play, nice big layout too. Drool
Looks epic! Great demos too 🤘🏻
Awesome Demo. The AS Ample seems to be great synth for many different music genres.
sounds lovely !
Fantastic machine. At first I very much "got" the claim that it's like a "best of" of AS' recent desktop units (Fusebox, Generator etc). That was making it a bit easier to think I didn't personally need one (because I already have a load of Generators, Leipzigs, a Vostok, a Strangelove, had a Fusebox...) - though I'd definitely tell anyone with a less extensive AS collection that this is the one to get. But with that said, this demo is definitely demonstrating both that the Ample is very much its own machine, and the merit of integrating all those classic AS circuits together in an elegant way in a single performance-friendly machine. My resistance is already failing, and my credit card is trembling in fear... 😂
Oh man. This is as orgasmic as it gets. Amazing demo!
Hey man, nice job on the Ample... Was great to meet you at Synthfest today.. Hope you have fun with MAXIMUS...
Damn you Starsky, I may have to buy one now. Even though I don’t really have the money and there’s a hurricane headed directly towards us , why not. That synth sounds so insanely awesome.
Mate I have a Buchla 208C that I make techno grooves like this, I can imagine fusing both in my sets. The lust is strong
Whatttttt Starsky you've been to Berlin on your holidays again, haven't you!!!!
Maestro!
I am not really deep into danceable music and techno and so on, but this sounds sooooo great, excellent performances and this specific synth looks very sweet for live improvising.Thank you!
I’ve got a lovely little ambient track coming in the next demo 😀
@@StarskyCarr In the next demo, can you really push the filter resonance (Not max, that hurts like hell) in a sequence like here. See if this sounds like a 303 or Moog Model D. The resonance was harsh on the Fusebox, so I hope the filter is really killer.
There better be some crap rap on that ambient track @@StarskyCarr
@@patricksharpe 😂😂
Worth buying for the sequencer alone
Santa will be getting a polite request.
something for the colossus fans! didn't fancy shelling out 30k!!!:D
I am so getting one
in stock at AS
$2000 is reasonable too. May have to pick this one up.
6:53 massive tune! need to release :)
I thought that too. Sounded like a finished track. Analogue Solution VCO's and filters are different gravy.
Nice
💙
Love it - great jam BTW, Analogue Solutions never ceases to amaze me with what Tom can cook up.
Question, is the kick coming from the Ample?
No only the synth is the ample (and there’s a snare drum filtered noise that I may be using as well).
@@StarskyCarr Thanks! Just wanted to be clear since you mentioned it doing noise. Looking forward to your full review and thanks for showing it off. I saw the teaser and was waiting to learn more,
Can you clock the interval generator to advance the intervals along? Would be cool if it had a dial with independent clock so like 4 cycles of the seq could advance it one.
Unfortunately not, the only way to change them is with the touch strips.
How do I get one without any money? Is there anything I can do? Is there someone in the company I can dance for?
Those beautiful shiny knobs 🤩
Swweeeeet!
Pins sure have become the latest thing!
Wohohooooow.
Awesome! How're you liking it compared to the Fusebox?
Its lik ette fusebox with extras. I like that the patternator now has 16 steps - which makes it more useful- but I do like the multimode filter on the fusebox. Both cool... would be a difficult decision, but if I didn't have the Fusebox and was given the choice I'd go for this.
You release, I buy!
Apologies to your wallet.
she a big gal eh - nice one Matt
For those who want the colossus but don't have the money or the space here is a mini version of it!
Hang on Starsky! How did you drop the kick at 8:48? Mind control?
haha.. practise!! That wasn't the first take ;)
awesome synth. but I'd lose those pins in 3 seconds flat.. lol. I'd really have to think of a solution for those.
A bag?!
lanyards @@annother3350
If it's anything like the Vostok, it'll come with a little box you're supposed to keep the pins in! 😂
@@annother3350 Ha good one.. but you know how that goes, you have to consistently move the pins in and out of the bag. I think my solution would be something like another strip with holes for the pins where you can keep when they're not in use in the synth.
Having said that I really do think the Erica Synths Synthrx has a much more elegant solution.
@@payt01 I know, you plant the pins in a ball of sticky tack next to the synth
Will you demo maximus? Keeen
Oh yes’
I’m guessing this is Scouse House? 😀
Haha unless it’s a Whitney Houston sample paired with some Gat Decor and the Smalltown Boy riff with an even stronger side order of cheese - then no 😂😂😂
@@StarskyCarr 🤣 Looking forward to hearing that 😆
Once again you get a musical result out of an AS synth. I've said it before, I love the look and the Specs of their range of synths but never heard a demo that hasn't disappointed, until you started to demo the Colossus Quartz range that is. This one looks and sounds great.
Some of the fusebox demos out there are incredible
I'm hearing Trent Rezner!
Looks expensive 😂
not as 'bad' as I was thinking at about 2k. Hardly an impulse purchase though!
But where are the presets? ;-)
Interesting item and James Ruskin like sequence of my style. Great! only low pass and no hi-band pass: no good
