Today Sunday the 10/13/2024 I have watched at least 10 videos and yours were the most accurate.. you the man long live to you from the Caribbean island of DR
Was thinking of learning Kali and was not sure how to. But glued to the entire video learning something great and enjoyed it thoroughly . Such a wonderful orator you are David, subscribed to your channel .. kudos 💯
I can’t tell you how much I appreciated this video! Absolutely a breeze with your explanation and the BEST tutorial I’ve come across for this topic, and I’ve been through TOO MANY, haha. Thank you so much for this!
Thanks a lot David! I started today with some videos about cybersecurity and hacking and ended up with your well documented video, until now its starting to going more exciting with every new topic. Cheers!
I have run Kali in just about every way possible. WSL was the worst experience but it may be okay for a person to learn basic things about Linux. My company is a VMware partner so we always got the full workstation for free but now they stopped giving us NFR copies so I switched to virtualbox and find it to really be as good as the full VMware Workstation product. I have never done the vmware player option. But in the end a $150 refurbished mini pc with XRDP installed so I can just RDP to it from my laptop is my favorite way to do it.
Great feedback! Thank you for sharing your experience 😀 In the past I really preferred VMware, but because Player is so crippled like not supporting snapshots I more inclined to recommend VirtualBox on windows. VMware Pro is great, but as you say, why pay for that (unless your company is paying for it) when VirtualBox is so good.
How is the performance of virtual box compared to VMWare? I used to run virtual box but I was recommended to use VMware because it was faster and has better emulation
Yeah I has issues with the iso file as well so I used the 7zip coming from hyper v the vmware isn't making it easy to learn it's different but have to learn lol thanks for the video. This helps alot.
Could you also someday maybe make a video of formatting Galaxy note 9 and installing full Kali Linux distribution? All your videos are awesome David. Great work always :)
Thanks for the video @David.... You are doing a great job .... Question: How did you resize the screen to make it full screen at the 17:35 ? Thanks again
David a quick question? If you add the Kali Iso file than the distro is set on Linux ===> Ubuntu64. Can you leave it that way or do have to change it to Debian 64? Thanks for sharing this video 🙏🏻
I have a question if I am not out of place for asking, but what do you think of BlackArch Linux compared to Kali and Parrot OS and maybe future video on how to install it?
Sir all your videos are very valuable. My request is to add "Bengali language audio tracks" to each of your videos. We Bangladeshis will benefit a lot. ❤
Omg my system just completely updated yesterday and I had a nightmare trying to get this on it alot of the fundamentals where there but it has changed so much none of theses processes actually worked so I had to just do dodiliagence to get this system up and running 😅. It'd be great for newbies if you could update this video because if it wasn't for my experience with dos mode I don't think I would have ever got it up and running 😊. I just feel sorry for that new user that has no previous knowledge like I do In Mac dos mode to try and get this downloaded and up and running it even had me using skills that I had learned from the 80s and early 90s😅
thank you very ,much sir. I just took an ethical hacking course. and I was worried about how to run kali from my windows and you solved that problem. thanks

Hi David, great video love it. Just have a question, I am quite new to virtual box and have tried installing Kali with an iso. But when I try to play youtube in the Kali VM it is quite laggy and slow. Is there any fixes to this? Gave it 4 cores and 4 GB Ram.
Awesome the very first time I am among the first 50k people to watch your great videos sir. We love you and your contents sir thank you very much for being a great source of research.
David, you've left me with 1 glaring question here.... why don't you just use hyper-v as your virtualization platform when using winblows? just curious from the other side of the isle.....
@@davidbombal considering that the free download version of windows 10 from microserf (via the media creation tool) is the "enterprise" edition, I think adding in hyper-v is a valid platform. just my 2 cents sir....
David: Do you ever use Windows Hyper-V? You use Virtual box and others under W11, why not native Hyper-V? I know the early versions were not great and there are still some idiosyncrasies that are annoying. Just looking for your input. Thanks for all the great education. My first computer was top secret 1974, but still learning every day.
I have trouble with bridged mode on my USB wifi interface. It has something to do with multiple IP addresses linked to one MAC I think. You may be able to fix this by allowing 'promiscuous' mode in the VBox network settings though it may also need promiscuous mode set on the host wifi adapter. I've never had problems with bridged mode on a wired connection. Alternatively, to access the VM from the host with the NAT interface if you only need one port available for SSH or RDP for example, you can set up port forwarding in the network settings under the Advanced drop-down. E.g. for SSH forward host port 3122 to 22 on the guest. This works great if I'm accessing a VM with no GUI as I get all the GUI terminal enhancements on the host while managing the guest; bigger window, scroll back support, etc.

Yes they are persistent. You can use snapshots if you want to jump to different configurations / points in time.
