I feel like a lot of pros showed up to the PT with Esper because the turn around was just too quick to fully explore the format. Couple that with the largest card format ever and its hard to get away from the tried and true. As a side note I am furious I didnt buyout Ancient Cornucopia when I thought it was too low. Awesome content as always, Jim!
I highly expect Ancient Cornucopia to come back down again, although maybe not to its previous lows. It's currently at peak hype. Just wait a few weeks.
First OP is kinda why I dislike it so much when a lot of streamers just scoop at the first sign of resistance instead of playing it out. I understand that plenty of times that match is like the twentieth match they played that day and they're just done, but it honestly makes for bad watching: "oh, the deck didn't instantly flatten the opponent's tier one deck, guess I better scoop and save five minutes of my time". P.S. I know it sounds like I'm talking about JIm, but I'm not, this is other people doing it.
Damn. Kaya putting in some work. That, btw, folks is why hexproof is far far worse than Ward. I keep seeing people say "ah. I'd rather just deal with hexproof than ward!" But those people are idiots. Sorry.
People were ragging on Ancient Cornucopia during preview season, but I kept thinking that it looked like it was of comparable power level to The Celestus which is certainly a Standard-playable card.
It's definitely one of the "uncommons" from Big Score, but as far as uncommon powerlevel goes, it's a good one. Sucks that I need to spend Mythic wildcards to craft it.
Jim saying "does Kaya have an ult?", mousing over her -3 without actually reading it, and then getting got by it multiple times is pure cinema.
Oh whoops
I usually root for you, Jim, but MrDrGarbonzo had all my support this time
I couldn’t but help root for him too, that comeback with the kaya was impressive, I would have conceded long ago
You love to see it
Casual reversal with Kaya.
I need an "NBA on TNT" post-game interview with MrDrGarbonzo
Props to Jim for showing the video when things don't go his way, and props to the good doctor.
*internally screaming for Jim to hold the frillback to destroy phyrexian arena*

Big kaya is one those mid cards that you will always lose too
Yep, I hope they never print a hexproof planeswalker again.
We are walking into Mengu's domain, AKA Italian food Twitter posts?
I love all the cards like cornacopia that everyone glazed over on spoilers and they're actually alright

That second game against Orzhov was one of the wildest games of Magic I think I've ever seen
Crokeyz has built a pretty sweet deck with the cornucopia and the 4 drop that puts lands into play every turn, super interesting deck
His "Ultimate Sultai"
Damn. Kaya putting in some work. That, btw, folks is why hexproof is far far worse than Ward. I keep seeing people say "ah. I'd rather just deal with hexproof than ward!" But those people are idiots. Sorry.
That orzhov deck was sweet.
If there’s anywhere I want to live, it’s in Mengu’s Domain
youre the best i love you thank you for playing magic
Jim getting frustrated against that orzhov deck was great lol
I feel like Jim forgot in match 2 that Boseiju can hit nonbasic lands.
I love the smell of Mengu brews in the morning
Ooft, that game 2 was won by the once mighty Phyrexian arena. Who would have thought it
You played traxa into big Kaya and I immediately fired up Darkest Dungeon to remind you that overconfidence is a slow, seven mana killer.
Dang, that first match though!
As an Orzhov lover, when i saw Jim not side in the negates with this list, I knew the moment OP slammed a kaya, it was basically over.

People automatically assume 3 cmc mana rocks are bad
The rise of mill decks is real when you can gain so much life easily
thanks jim
I swear, this format would be so weird if reliquary tower were legal. Standards so wild.
Dino free zone. Then plays Tranquil Frillback😂
lmao Just realized this is the same stream from the other day when he called out my username XD
Would the nee leyline make the cornucopia gain 5 once a turn for all spells?
Mengu is awesome
9:30 someone say reclamation? I haven't heard that one since TBD standard when it got banned
Sparkles.
So a arcane signet for 3 is better than the dino?
Woot
God I hate domain so much
!
