    Ive never sat down and watched an entire F1 race.. let alone played an F1 game... LET ALONE managed an F1 team in a game 🤣 I figured since I've learned everything about soccer(Yep, American) through football manager over the past 10 years, maybe this will do the same. But the video felt catered to me specifically and the game does not feel as overwhelming anymore after watching this. Cheers

    Another thing to add to what Nero said at 58:01: A 100% gearbox does not provide more speed than a 40% gearbox. I have seen so many people playing the game thinking a 100% ERS or gearbox will make your car faster than a 80% one. What Nero says here is a 100% true. Yes, even the power loss at the "power loss threshold" for the engine is negligible. If you are interested: I took over 100 test samples of a Q1 flying laps to test several power train parts with varying wear. I could share them in the discord.

    A little side note: At 52:51 - the race simulator event is even worse than the text says. The exp from the race sim is paused during the week. For all three drivers.
    So lets say your driver has a weekly base exp of 200. A level 5 race sim will provide an additional 100% (20% per level) of those 200. So 200 exp more. These 200 exp would be essentially lost during the race sim event.
    Even worse: reserve drivers get about 120% more base exp per week than a regular driver in car 1 or 2. So the race sim event hits them even harder (more than twice that hard).
    This makes the race sim event the worst sponsorship obligation in the game. Especially if your aim is to develop young drivers.

    One thing I hope gets added in the next game for development of cars is a small percentage chance that one of the ten teams,doesn’t have to be player controlled, makes a technically discovery during research for new regulations or during part development for the current season. Maximum of 5%-10% of any team making this kind of discovery that pushes them way out in front on a specific part or parts. Thus taking a team toward the front from the back. Could also make it so engine regs can change which manufacturer has the best engine more often.

    Amazing content, even as someone who has been playing for weeks, I learned a few things.
    Small comment, I use the "dirty air" and "high risk kerbs" options while manually running FPs, hoping it helps slow down the PU degradation. Not sure if it works.

    • @NeroBax
      @NeroBax  6 месяцев назад +4

      It is perfectly fine to use both of those aswell as conserve for fuel if you want to save parts in practice. I believe it lowers the degradation somewhat.

      No, friend, you're doing everything right, I do the same in training, it saves transmission parts and does not lower the result of studying the track and studying a new component of the part! I roll 40 laps in this mode

    Something i noticed with the Front/Rear Wings, is that who can keep them on 2-4 races, as the last one or two ticks to the left for weight, gives you a minimal gain on performance, it is something like only 1 or max of 2 points, compared to the first couple of ticks to the left. So it is perfectly useful to have them on 2-4 races and still gain a lot of performance and decent life time :)

    Thanks for these great videos what are you doing ❤ I'm still learning new things even though I already started playing last year's game. Everything is really well explained and the effort you put into making these is unbelievable. I've thought about whether it's possible to make a winning car from a slightly worse team if you keep everything in balance, new parts and research parts. I thought I'd start a new save with Alfa Romeo and test that because I really want a realistic, challenging and long save and not winning everything max 3 seasons. Have you tested or is there any information if it is possible?

    • @NeroBax
      @NeroBax  6 месяцев назад +1

      If you use presets like the AI and still retain some durability while not researching each part more than twice like the AI I would assume you could have a somewhat limiting experience from the perspective of car development. Other than that there isn't to much you can do other than to turn up the difficulty.

    I’m new to the game and had to run the practice sessions manually to get 100% setup satisfaction. You just moved the sliders around and in about 2 simmed sessions you had it down. Do you pretty much know the ideal setup for those two drivers around Bahrain or am I missing something? Great tutorial btw 👍🏾

      The setup is the same each time, meaning that no matter how many times you do Bahrain the sliders for the setup will be the same, there are guides on steam on these setup windows for each track. Have a look here: steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?l=german&id=3011487737

    my interpretation for race confidence gain was that it helps the drivers during, quali and race, with their confidence

    • @NeroBax
      @NeroBax  2 месяца назад

      Race confidence resets to the base, between quali and the race. The base being the set during practice.
      Confidence has a ton of buffs/debuffs to driver stats among them chance of errors, if you go into the race and click the info icon next to the confidence you get a summary of the current effects from confidence.

    Can you test a theory i have. Start a save and make a part with ATR period with all sliders to the right on intense with 6 engineers on it vs ATR rushed with 6 engineers then provide the outcome of the following part you would make after and see which has better gains.
    Basically you arent specializing the part until the what would be the 3rd edition. Cause you start with edition 1. On the all sliders to the right option I do believe the gains are bigger. But im not completely sure

    • @NeroBax
      @NeroBax  6 месяцев назад

      Using Intense will get you bigger base gains than if you use rushed, but as far as I've seen in this game intense vs rushed has no effect on expertise gain from WIND/CFD.
      You'll be seing a fairly decent gain, particularly on a fresh save due to rushed minimizing the expertise gain while intense giving a 1.5x modifier to that base gain so it will get more. Would not have any effect on CFD/Wind unless they changed it in one of the more recent patches, can take a look at it when I have time.

    Hi,
    Thank you for this awesome guide!
    Happy new year also 😀
    Can you clarify why Mercedes engine seem the worst to you?
    For me it seem to be perfect for a team with no money, as they are more reliable and effective until 64% of use.
    Basically i am looking for the more reliable engine in order to counter my poor thermal engine expertise.

    • @NeroBax
      @NeroBax  4 месяца назад

      It is reliable but it is the worst from a pace perspective, the Renault/Ferrari/Red Bull engines all have better pace over the course of a race due to how they handle fuel and the fact that they have more power. There isn't really a huge difference between them though so if you prefer Merecedes engines there is nothing super wrong with it, just know that you will be slightly (about a tenth a lap) slower than the other three on most tracks.

    What is a good system in terms of balancing research and design, should I do half design (ex. chassis sidepods rear wing) and then research the parts I don’t design (front wing underfloor suspension) and alternate each season, or do as much development as possible then do split research for all 6 parts with the remaining 3 ATR periods of the season. Or is there better more efficient system that would be better.

    • @NeroBax
      @NeroBax  6 месяцев назад +1

      The main thing you want to do with research is deal with regulation changes, so you research the parts that get hit with regulation changes mainly. It is perfectly fine to do full research on all slots to have a very competitive car the following season as long as you reach board goals in terms of placement.

    • @NeroBax
      @NeroBax  6 месяцев назад +1

      Generally when you have a car that you believe can safely get you to the board objective. If the board wants you to finish 6th for instance and you think you'll be able to do so with the current car you can go all in on research. If you are uncertain it is fine to split design and research 50/50.

      I manual practice, the setup is very important getting right and so is tire management. I run practice all conservative and run one tire set as often as i can. Qualifying is super important. Make sure u have at least 3 softs after practice. 2nd qualy, first fast lap, i run old soft tires so the drivers get confidence then run new softs. I run 2 laps of extra fuel every race. I run it hard all race then cut off before the end so I manage to finish. Red bull engines cause 2nd season i got 1 extra of ers engine and trans. Key is overtaking on first half of race as much as possible then by the end there will be enough space between cars to conserve fuel. Bottas seems good for aggressive strategy. For me he doesn't crash I'm assuming due to "low aggression on his stats". I manually manage races try to overtake on Drs zones and manage his overtake aggression so he doesn't loose confidence when failing too many overtakes on corners. 2nd season half way Bottas, 2 wins 2 sprint wins 6 podiums. Theo on 36 points. I only had to research 2 parts for 2nd season tho. And I'm playing standard difficulty

    I tryed this game, took aston Martin, my cars either crashed or got hit in the race and took my out the points 50% of the time about 5 times within 10 or 12 races and i never got past race 3 because i would quit when things went wrong, after a career restart on race 3 i qualified 1st and 2nd just to get a DNF, thia gmae is ridiculous, spending that much time on a race for nothing, i even had a race were a driver wrecked on the last lap...all this within 12 races killed my whole experience with the game... I literally felt like Hass team IRL

    • @NeroBax
      @NeroBax  2 месяца назад

      Are your drivers struggling with confidence? Are you asking them to take risk in the driver window? In this game you can end up with quite a few incidents if your drivers lacks any of these, brake balance also has an effect on lockups so that too could be a issue. Other than that it would be just bad luck.

    • @Kaib902
      @Kaib902 2 месяца назад

      @@NeroBax the race that I started 1st and 2nd my driver confidence was at peak for both, must of been a setup/brake issue but with a good enough setup to qualify p1 and p2 you would think it wouldn't be the setup

  • @Shadownian
    @Shadownian 3 месяца назад

    I have a question to anyone who can answer. OK ill say this first. I HATE durability. I wish it was never added.
    By the time i just start getting my first parts finished, not made but designed, I already have alerts saying my parts are starting to go. Even if I switch them out with a new part...it does nothing. I still get the alert. I dont even know if the part actually gets swapped. Then you add in the time it takes to actually make the part you designed and unless I rush things my parts are all going bad before I can even make anything to replace them.
    How are you supposed to handle that. Especially when all these guide videos all tell you to bring down durability to next to nothing. If you bring it down to the lowest level and a part has like 1-3 races or something like that...its already dead before you can design its replacement. Drives me nuts. I hate it.

    • @NeroBax
      @NeroBax  2 месяца назад +1

      You don't need to switch parts until you get the red message.
      Usually I would try to keep 2 spares for any parts that I have and start building early, if you get on the backfoot you can have a fairly rough time. There have been instances where I've had to go to a earlier build/worse part simply because I don't have replacements.
      Nowadays the only way I struggle with parts is if I have crashes, turning on risk for overtaking and defending to low mitigates so much of the damage you receive for incidents it is kind of wild. Some teams also has sponsorships that make manufacturing a pain, Haas being a prime example. I would recommend upgrading your factory asap, to level 3 and if you still struggle with that upgrade it to level 4 and try to focus on keeping 2 spares of each part on hand, with 4 spares for the frontwing as they tend to go way more than any other part.
