Yeah guys, a serious public service to musicians everywhere. I'm a 74 year old sax player and MIDI producer since the early 80s. Always looking for new grooves and ways to improve my drum programming. (Whew) I talk too much too. How about a simple THANKS!

This was a great lesson. I remember watching it live and thinking oh my god there won’t be a mention of Dilla... how!!! And then when it happened I was relieved.

Very cool. Please eventually aim to get Adam Deitch (of Lettuce, John Scofield, Average White Band, Break Science fame) for these hip-hop styles, along with him showing funk, GoGo and J-Dilla style grooves. It also wouldn't hurt to also get Chris Dave, Nate Smith or even Questlove. But Adam will wrinkle your brain with feel and is very good at explaining/teaching.
Marshal Dickerson this is a cool lesson. I agree sir and I second that emotion about AD. I immediately thought of him while watching this. Adam Deitch beautifully bridges the gap between the old school vibe and new school in a way that no one else on the scene seems to be doing right now. He’s so knowledgeable and seems like a real like-able guy and a true inspiration
to all generations; would be a great addition to all the awesome content Drumeo has. Thanks for making that suggestion! Cheers!!!

Superb sound quality! Sounds like live hip hop shows when they actually use a real drummer and stop being lazy with Djs and sample loops. Sounds SO much better than programmed drums.

Best thing about this video is the Rogers drums. Good player too.
This is how I like to play drums as well. It bleeds into all the styles i like to play including rock and progressive rock. Hiphop grooves just add that little extra, know what I mean? Dynamics also make it something special.

I wasn’t too grasped by the intro track, but the first instructional track by No ID made it easy to see he’s got the feel. Subtleties in the hi hat during a groove really make the groove happen. Nice

I'm a drummer teaching myself bass guitar... This track is fun to jam Against! The nice simple music backing tracks made me want to pick up the bass and pay along! The drumming is Superb (of course- It's Dumeo ;}) but I matched that first groovey bit 3 times (2 times to jam to and once to just listen ;})

I been trying to learn drumming with the pads and I’m mainly looking for rhythm formulas I can use in rap and hip hop beats. Currently I only know how to produce drum rhythms for electronic music
