When i saw the post my assumption was that his firing pin safety was possibly stuck . All walther canik and hk vp9s with the pre cocked spiker design have the striker block ,The striker dropping when dropped is also the same as as if you were decocking the pistol, the striker should never make contact with the primer unless you depress the trigger safety. BTW I know this is exactly what you stated I'm just reiterating the facts. I agree with some comments saying the trigger dingus may have also been stucj from screenshots of the video showed but even then the inertia shouldn't be enough to make the striker block get depressed 🤷♂️. There was another person awhile back stating the same drop safe issue when tests were done the tester had some light primer strikes ...that had me alittle concerned but not enough to stop carrying mc9. Thanks for the video hope that guy isn't lying and or hope he gets that specific mc9 looked atbefore just selling to the next guy...
Thanks for making this video. I saw the reddit thread going on today. I have an MC9L, I put a brand new snap cap on and dropped it 3 times from about 4 feet and the striker never disengaged.
Thank you for sacrificing your new Canik! I have intentionally kept quiet in those stupid 'failure' posts because those.. Others.. Will accuse be of bias. Thank you for your participation in my subreddit!
Great that the fpb block works! Although now someone can still argue it’s not the best design because if your grabbing your gun in the middle of the night and accidentally drop it (falls off the bedside), there’s a possibility your trigger is now dead (you’ll have to rack it to get back in the fight).
If you load through the ejection port and let the slide slam shut, the extractor hits the head without anything slowing it down, has to jump over the edge of the round to hook in. Like a basketball thrown hard into extended fingers. That can cause micro fractures especially on extended duty extractors cause they're more brittle to last longer of the usual forces, not seeing those unusual ones. The cracks ain't visual to the naked eye so a free surprise later on. Just wanted to mention it. From the mag it gets the vip airport shuttle service. Looks like a nice size. Thanks for sharing and testing.

@ Djru They have a black ls at my local shop. I shot it last week. It is a little new to fail from being dirty. Maybe they never cleaned out the factory oil?
We ain't gonna talk about that small dimple on the primer after the striker fell at 2:30 ? a little carbon build up, or manufacturing variances form the manufacturer could have absolutely set that off.
@@billgilbert-wk6vu no dimple just a mark from when I seated the primer on my reloading press. Look at it before I inserted the case it’s there. The striker can not extend past the breach face till the trigger is pulled.
Try firing an AR and stop shooting with a round in the chamber, the round in the chamber of that AR will have a slight primer strike from the free floating firing pin with no dicharge. All AR's are like this. The round does not discharge! Also the guy making the video said it was a mark from seating the primer in the casing.
I had the OEM trigger changed out on my LS. I didn't like all the take up. Changed to a Freedomsmith Pinnacle Pro trigger. The take up is gone and I like the trigger much better. Glocks have more issues. There's a reason why the aftermarket for Glocks is so large, it's because their guns are bad.
