Went on my first cruise with my grandmother (for her 80th bday) on Jewel of the seas in 2005 for 11 nights we left port from Boston and in the tail of Hurricane Wilma, I can tell you the first night was wild and we were confined indoors it was so crazy with waves up to the 10th deck balconies (we were 9th) I loved it so much ( the boat not the Hurricane!)it left an impression (my grandma kept her stub ticket she loved it so) she’s 97 now and she still talks about it. I’ve just convinced my parents to join me and my 10yrs old on a cruise on Freedom in Jan 23. Only 5 days this time since they never went and my father is afraid of being seasick. I told him he won’t feel a thing but he worries so hopefully they’ll love it and so will my son and be happy to go on a longer one next!

This was the first ship I sailed on for Royal Caribbean. I truly enjoyed the ship, even though we sailed it in 2016, and would like to experience it after all the updates. Going on our 2nd Oasis class ship in November, but open to trying Freedom again for a short cruise.

I cruised Freedom of the Seas last December for Christmas. An AMAZING ship and full of fun! The pools, the Promenade, my stateroom, the Windjammer, the Schooner, The Theatre were all fantastic. However, the Ice Show was absolutely spectacular! Can't wait to take my next cruise this coming Christmas again!

Thanks for posting this......I just used it to show my daughter (11). She has never been on a cruise and I haven't been since before she was born. We are going on Freedom in April 2023 for Spring Breaks. This definitely helped to get her more excited.

As I have mentioned on your live Q&A, just got back from a Freedom sailing May 2nd to the 6th. It was my first Royal experience. Like any cruise, some pros and cons but definitely a fun ship and a great time. An oasis class experience is coming up in November on Harmony. Can’t wait for that! As I watch your video I realized I totally forgot to do the splash bucket. Damn!

@@jessigirlrae1688 Hi there, let me just say since my first Royal sailing last May 2022 on Freedom, I've been on Harmony, Navigator and most recently Ovation to Alaska. Out of all those ships, Freedom is probably my favorite. If I could take the Adults only Solarium from Harmony and put it on Freedom, that would be one hell of a ship, well it would need a pool added since Harmony has no pool in the Solarium.
Some of the cons on Freedom... music was too loud in the windjammer, the main dining room was freezing, cafe promenade lacked a good selection of bites and the ones in the window looked old with a nice little fly trapped inside with the food, and while we loved Giovanni's Italian Kitchen, the seats were very uncomfortable. You should enjoy it though. Curious how you like the ship. Let us know once your cruise is done.

Thanks for doing the tours of the ships, this is really neat! I cruised on Freedom in 2014 and it’s really awesome to see all of the changes and upgrades they’ve made to the ship in almost 10 years.. wow I can’t believe it’s been that long.. lol I hope to go again soon! Maybe a different ship this time tho😉

i took freedom in december, and for my first cruise in 4 years, i enjoyed every night. So much that i booked my odyssey cruise (which i already took) in march of this year
When u went in December was it cold?
@@claytongirls3624 oh no remember florida and the bahamas are near the equator so the weather was a bit on the hotter side but i’ve had that result every time with my december cruises
How did you compare the two? I just went on my first cruise in January with Odyssey and going on Freedom in October. Nervous it won't live up
@@jessigirlrae1688 freedom should still have a lot to do on board after it’s renovations which i saw when i got onboard. sure there’s no seaplex but you’ll find all the royal caribbean staples along with many bells and whistles along with a royal promenade which odyssey doesn’t have (it has an esplanade which is similar) i’ve sailed on freedom twice now and it’s been a great experience each time

I have hearing loss and thought you said "pasta massages" (vs hot stone massages) I thought about sitting in a giant tub of spaghetti, then I got hungry lol

Independence of the seas is the only freedom class I have sailed on. I would love to sail on the original freedom class ship. I love the little differences between the two ships.

My first cruise was on the freedom, and I HAD SO MUCH FUNNNN although it doesn’t seem the same as I remeber. And I went in 2021… strange
What I think is they removed some stuff on my cruise but my memory gets a little foggy over time

Going on this in January! Looking forward to it. Looks a lot like Navigator of the Seas. Agreed with the pizza comment. It’s good but not amazing. Personally preferred Carnival’s 24/7 pizza station. Was absolutely the best pizza ever

Freedom was my 1st cruise ship in 2018 . Then I did Symphony in 2019 & 2022. I think even though Symphony was bigger, I had more fun on Freedom . I mean they’re all good , but Freedom out of Galveston had a more upbeat vibe to me, compared to Symphony out of Miamis more busy & crowded vibe. 🤔

You do not need to bring your own basketball. They have them for you

Matt, the pool "ice cream" isn't Ice Cream or Yogurt, it is a "Frozen Desert Product" there is no dairy in it at all, water, corn syrup, oil, and emulsifiers.
That ship for being smaller still has all the amenities that bigger ship have. Thanks for the tour

Are any of the pools walk in/walk out? Or do you have to use a ladder to get out? If not, why not. For some who would like to swim, getting in and out by using a ladder is very difficult
I am recovering from a foot injury and just got back from sailing Freedom. Unfortunately it seemed the only way to enter the pools were via ladder or sitting on the edge and sliding in/pulling yourself back up and out that way. I mostly took my "dips" under the kiddie pool waterfalls and such and than just sat in the 3 inches of water provided around the pools to cool off. I did not use the Solarium pool but it seemed like the same deal - just ladders.

Absolutely not be cold. I live in Palm Beach county which is about 50 miles north of Miami. It’s not even cold in December in South Florida 😩

Tomorrow will be my first Cruise and nobody mentions me that i can upgrade my package with the beverage package, I feel disappointment about that because if I want to take a drink it's too expensive. its a shame that the person that sells the package doesnt mention this option, we start very bad the experience on a cruise.
