Edward Gorey illustrations have been haunting me since I was ten years old.
Used to migrate up to the attic on the weekends so i could stay up all night reading without waking up my little brothers.
In the 90s there were lots of horror books for kids, every trip to the library was exciting.

    Nice effects there Thomas! 🤣🤣🤣
I've read and appreciated most of those authors in my younger days although I haven't explored them as completely as many people have.
I'm currently listening to The Improbable Adventures of Sherlock Holmes on my way to and from work. So far, the stories have been quite entertaining although one or two of them didn't do too much for me.
After his death Louis La'mour's son had published four books of Louis' short stories that were, in general, not westerns. They were mysteries, adventure, boxing and war stories that had been written for the pulps. Although I've owned these books for years, I never finished reading them. I started reading them this week and am finding them to be highly entertaining.

Thank you my friend! Yes, l'Amour strikes a chord with me as well. That Sherlock Holmes book sounds fun! I may have to look for that!

Our tastes seem so remarkably similar that I always take note of your recommendations for books or authors that I haven't yet read. In this case it is John Collier that I need to check out. I agree that Algernon Blackwood is fantastic. One of my favorite stories of his is called "The Empty House". Yep. Same! I also really like Derleth's "The Lonesome Place". I've enjoyed both of those stories multiple times through the years. But somehow, I haven't read John Collier...

Thanks, Bert! I always appreciate your comments. I think you'll enjoy Collier. Another of those writers like Irwin Shaw who writes from a culture that is long gone.

Interesting that when I started my channel I kind of swore off short stories. But between you and Pete from BooklessPete I'm starting to change my tune. You guys always do such a good job of selling these short stories. I'm pretty convinced that the short stories I was reading were just trash. Maybe I should start giving these another go. Enjoyed your video I enjoyed the video. Thank you

Thank you so much! I am glad to hear that because my purpose here is to have fun and maybe if I'm lucky recommend a book that someone will find interesting! Stay well my friend and keep your great channel going!!

Have you read/do you have an opinion on Charles Beaumont? He was also a writer who contributed to The Twilight Zone but I have yet to find one of his books in the wild to read.
