Who are Kara and Nate?!

Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, we got married 2013 and were super “normal.” I was a teacher and Nate started a small printing business from the spare bedroom of our apartment.
We discovered the world of “travel hacking” while planning our honeymoon & became addicted ;)
So after 2 years of obsessively saving $35k and over 2 million miles and points, we sold our cars and apartment and left home January 10, 2016 for a “one year” trip around the world.
Our goal was to see as many places as possible before we ran out of money and went back home to “normal life.” We started this channel to share our experiences with friends and family, but quickly fell in love with living on the road and found a new passion for capturing our travels through video. So we did everything we could to keep going.
4 years later, we achieved our new goal of visiting 100 countries and all 7 continents. We had no plans to slow down, until 2020 forced us to ;) Which is when we bought a converted van to start exploring our own country for the first time!
After ~2 years of van life, we are back to full time international traveling! And now we are finding the best adventures the world has to offer :)
We are incredibly grateful to be able to continue doing something we love every day. 😊🎥🌎 Thank you to everyone who has been a part of our journey!

Just so you know, that was a modular data center that drove down the road. Switchgear and data center all in one! The company that I work for builds those things, and they are monstrous to transport. Cool to see you guys came across one!

wow what are those used for?
Tons of different applications. Overall use is for the distribution and optimization of electrical power in places such as dams, electrical grids, malls, office centers, and so on. Anywhere you see a place with a lot of commercial businesses, chances are there is electrical switchgear there. The modular data center is a little more of a rarity to see as it is mainly the tech companies that use those for their cloud and computing services. Pretty interesting stuff.

I was wondering about Sarah too! Then I noticed that her face is now blurred out on the thumbnail from the first video. It seems like something is going on where they aren't/can't show her face. Hope all is OK.

I mean this in the nicest way possible, but Kara reminds me of a golden retriever. She's always happy, always ready to go, but also just so happy to get to rest and eat. I love it!

Can we all just appreciate how much work Kara does editing these video? Every change of camera angle, the voiceovers, the map animations, recaps of the previous episodes etc. I wish the best for Kara and Nate's future adventure on the trandum bike.
I think they have a full time editor now, but I may be wrong
Yeah, they aren't editing their own videos anymore, they have a crew for that now. They've posted on their social media about hiring and send a resume to them.
Nate's all complaining about his allergies, meanwhile Rick has baboon butt and just laughs & laughs! I just love y'alls adventures! Ladies, you all freakin rock it!!!
I feel this might be one of the most physically enduring adventures yet. Absolutely love watching this amazing group of people persevere as a team! Also, Kara’s energy and vibes radiating through the entire group is the sweetest thing and best part of these videos! Please be safe and have fun! ❤️❤

I’ve driven from Tennessee to San Diego and back about half a dozen times, and the part Kara and Nate and the crew are biking on day 3 is my absolute favorite part of the drive! It’s such a unique part of America that I think gets overlooked a lot. So happy to see it done on a bike! 🫶🏻🚲
Oh my gosh!!! You guys biked the hill going up to Yarnell AZ!! My grandparents live in Yarnell!!! And you passed a really amazing memorial trail hike for the Fallen 13 firefighters when there was the big Yarnell fire in 2013. That hill is a doozie mad props to you guys biking it!!💪🏼💪🏼

Keep up the good work, as a Marylander I have to say that Annapolis is located in the Chesapeake Bay which is not the Atlantic Ocean it’s a bay. You must travel to Ocean City MD to officially dip your tires into the ocean. Not sure if you can convince someone to take you across the bay in Annapolis but you could cross the Chesapeake bay in a boat then continue on to ocean city. Assateague Island has wild ponies. horses
I’d suggest heading south into VA to end at Fort Monroe at the mouth of the bay. It’s a nice ride using US-17 across VA and a quick drop down from central MD. Otherwise to go by bike you’d have to head up above the bay and dip the tire off Delaware.
I am also originally from Maryland and I had the same thought. I am curious how they chose Annapolis as the finish line. Such a beautiful place, but not on the Atlantic Ocean.

Quick tip, me and my dad rode our bike for 30 km once and i preferred when we were going oposit side of traffic. We were facing the cars when they went past. I love your videos!

My husband had a stroke 2 months ago. We r both 59. U both r so adorable and really have helped me de- stress. I miss traveling and watching the both of u with your friends has been a joy to watch after a long day. I love that you all include your culinary habits. Be cause I’m watching what I eat now and I love what Kara makes.
