    Its rare for modern developer to deliver the final game as what's shown in their demo. Game Science did that and they should be damn proud of themselves.
    Please create games based on Jin Yong novels. I've been waiting for that for decades.

    • @jade_lin
      @jade_lin 18 дней назад +5

      Yes! @shem44 The Jin Yong worldbuilding is what I'm hoping will come out of China next. There's been some demos released, and graphically it doesn't look as nice as Black Myth: Wukong. I hope it's an open world RPG and not just a fighter.

      @@jade_lin Yes. The last one I played is 金庸群侠传 which was released in 1996 and absolutely love it. Been waiting for a modern version with all the various kungfu from various sects and able to junmp from trees to trees and on top of houses. Jin Yong pugilistic world is the Chinese version of Marvel which will be a killer hit with Chinese fans.

      That’s not it. Remember that Chinese conservative culture stifled China’s scientific progress during the Ming Dynasty, resulting in European nations overtaking them in the 1500s, and directly led to the later century of humiliation . Since then, Chinese culture has changed as Asia in general has learned a lot from the West. This is a good game, no doubt, but if the only reason this game is good is because of Chinese culture, why was this only the first well known Chinese game in this genre?

    Now this is what we call quality journalism and news reporting. All facts, wide range of research, clear communication, in-depth information and excellent video editing. Black Myth: Wukong not only secured its place in the gaming industry, it sets a new bar on how a proper triple A game should be made, and the results speak for itself. The background and historical roots of the game, the gameplay mechanics, the art style, the colours, everything is well researched and well executed. I believe China will be the future where fun, high quality games will be made. And like you said, this is only the beginning. Well done, and congratulations! 👍👍👍

      That has nothing to do with it 😂 Women’s rights? Every single East Asian country believes that women should have equal rights to men. This is not some Western concept anymore. LGBTQ? How many Western games even push this? I know Last Of Us but what else? At the most they’ll have a customizable character who can have a relationship with some NPC only if you the player wants that to happen, like in Fallout or Mass Effect. But it’s definitely not forced, and most people don’t choose for that outcome for their characters. Why are so many overseas chanfei concerned about something that doesn’t affect them?

    China now understands the value of such pop culture products. It is no accident that Japan and S Korea has seen alot of interest among the youth and China has simply been pushed aside allowing the Americans and Japanese to take advantage of China's culture. The formula is quite simple and elegant, Create fantasy worlds and characters that have compelling storylines and insert Chinese culture into it and this becomes a gateway to China. They don't have to all be AAA games but it's important to understand the psychology of young people. The wokeism of the west is alienating alot of them so China has a golden opportunity to fill the void. You then exploit the popularity of these products and can create new forms of culture in China itself. Look at the popularity of Gundam for instance, Young people from America to China love Gundam and they opened up a Museum in Yokohama that has become a popular tourist attraction. Has China missed the bus on this? In same ways yes but it's all the more reason for the country to finally start paying more attention to the quality of its new culture. Just like EV's and Drones, The hard work will eventually pay off and become an industry for generations to come and inherit and inspire young creative minds in China and the world.

So many ignorant comments about made in China especially when most of America is made from China. For China to be represented in a positive light instead of peoples ill imagination is refreshing. And let’s not forget the full dive ignorance of some woke dysfunctional people who tried everything to get this game to fail. IGN owes Game Science a public apology before the lawsuit not after, but thankfully many of us see through the woke bs for what it is. There is no animation of the character picking up things that appear? It just magically vanished and into his inventory. What's so special? All the graphics power and everything but they couldn't animate him picking up objects, it's just a vanishing sequence ? The camera movements are very janky and jerky, while the view is a little too close to the character for my comfort, perhaps if the camera view was a little further away from the character so that more of the scene is viewable would make for less jerky and dizzy game experience for me. 7 out of 10 for 2024.

    Celebrations aside it's time to talk about the anti-gaming policies. For example, this game is not even available on the Chinese Playstation Store and it has long been a standard practice for Chinese PS5 users to get a Hong Kong account in order to play latest games. If not for these bans the first AAA Chinese game should not come so late as of 2024!

    This game has no DEI shoved into it. That's why western gamers love it. We crave a game without DEI agenda. Just a great game. Games like Concord and Dustborn FAILED with peak concurrent players of 697 and 75 respectively because they put DEI importance above good game aesthetics, gameplay, lore, etc. Wukong got 2.4+ million concurrent players. IGN's negative hit piece by Rebekah Valentine and purposeful mistranslation to slander the GameScience Devs fail or deter players. The people at ScrenRant who gave Wukong 3/ 5 stars are raging mad at Wukong's success!! So is the Korean trans person who gave wrong translation to Rebekah Valentine. Had to make her account on X protected mode so only approved followers can read her posts. But someone leaked it to the public her post about being incredibly Angry at Wukong's success. 10 millions copies in 3 days!! Wow! SweetBaby Inc must also be super mad.
    Female characters in Wukong look FEMININE and BEAUTIFUL.

      What do you even mean by DEI in a game? Minority characters? Women characters? That’s offensive to you? We have that representation because our societies are actually like that. This game takes place in ancient China so naturally there won’t be any Black or Latino characters and no one expects there to be. Good job complaining about something totally unrelated. Meanwhile you lr ancestors chose to run away from China and live in a multiracial country with Malays and Indians that was ruled by White people at the time but you talk about DEI 🙄.

Then why did they run away like COWARDS to places like Malaysia and Indonesia instead of staying in China and fighting? And then, even in those places, they tried being racist to the locals and this backfired leading to huge riots that put them in their place 😂. All of what I said actually happened almost everywhere Chinese fled to. Your racism doesn’t make any sense because no one else in the world thinks your people are superior.

    But Wukong isn't black and trans. 1/10 - Western Woke. Anyway, this game is tough. Even the grunts in the level(after level 2) can get you kill if you think you can just button smash your way in. There is no difficulty setting. Only one setting - "DIE YOU MAGGOTS!". Also spending a bit of time to fiddle the settings to find compromise on my RTX 3060. I think in the end, the RTX3060 is an equivalent to a PS5. managed to get steady 30fps with low Ray tracing and max out the texture and effect settings.It's really pushing me to buy an RTX4070. 😅
