    This is the best demonstration I have seen on youtube.
    Here in Australia I spent a summer with a Aboriginal Tribe up in North Queensland. Before I left I was allowed to see one of their sacred dances connecting them to the Dreamtime.
    What I saw started as very symbolic of animals and then it became intense like the OA movements. Since then I have always had a deep sense of respect for the power of dance.

    Thank you so much for taking the time to teach us the movements. I meditate often and I find these movements to be very meditative. I do these movements daily because I find joy and peace in doing these movements.

    I felt there was something special in these movements when I first watched the show! I recently re-watched part 1 to refresh my memory before watching part 2, and the "cafeteria" episode where they do it all together in unison literally made me cry, it was so beautiful! I'm so excited I found your tutorials and grateful to you for taking the time out to piece them together to teach us. Do you think you'll be doing another flash mob any time soon?

    So I think all of these are pretty much spot on but what I noticed with the fifth movement is that your two fingers have to be together at first and then they spread apart as you slide it down your face and take some paces forward

    Great tutorial! And I like the part about intention (I send it out, too). I have learned the movements also and plan on making a dramatic video of myself in Ireland this summer. :)
    I appreciate that you acknowledged the right/left mistake in the annotations on your first video. I hope those learning pick up on the correct way to do it. Also I think stepping forward on the fifth movement is correct.
    I have been posting tutorials on a Facebook group called Beyond the OA, and I have a playlist on my channel of all the best ones on RUclips. Definitely adding yours.
    OH! And thanks for including the swivel part of Renata's (fourth) movement. So many tutorials DO NOT add that because you can't see it in the iconic series finale, so the instructors don't bother to look for it (you can see it at the beginning of episode 6).
    Cheers... looking forward to seeing the flash mob. I knew this was coming.

      Gabriel Félix I know my tutorial isn't perfect... if there are specific things I missed, let me know!

    • @gabrielfelix3679
      @gabrielfelix3679 7 лет назад +1

      Oh, sure! My intention was helping you to improve it, absolutely! I got some differences in the 4th movement:
      - the left hand (in the waist) = the wrist points up, and fingers down (like a pregnant woman holding her back). It's just the same direction of the right hand >>> in 2:45 of episode 6
      - in the next movement (still in the sequence of the 6th episode, same scene), the hands like claws point to the feet (which are together, side by side, not separated)
      - and the last step: when they are being like "stabbed", the two jumps are backwards (not forward)
      Sorry if I sounded gross the first time :( , I'm just saying what I realized...
      Your tutorial is great, I loved it. We're trying to open a gate to another dimension, let's try to make it perfectly! (:P hahahah)

    • @JessGrippo
      @JessGrippo  7 лет назад +4

      Ah yes thanks! I'm actually going to be meeting with one of the original choreographers this week, so will be able to perfect it even more! Definitely important to nail it when opening new dimensions :)

    I think this is great but in your first video you really took the time to explain the first half of the first movement and after that you are rushing. That's a bit sad. Am trying to learn the movements but I just had to go back every time. Only during the first half of the first movement I didn't have to do it because you explained calmly and repeated.
