My sister and I made mud pies all the time in the summer. Then, when it was almost dinner, my grandfather would offer to “cool us down” with the water hose. Seeing this child, I just made the connection. He was saving us from Grandmothers wrath by hosing us off first!
My sister and I did mud designs on each other and ourselves, then our two daughters made mud pies and our youngest son actually did eat part of one!! When I was a teen, a good friend asked me why I didn’t like chocolate cake. I asked my mom and she told me that as a toddler, I took a chocolate cake out of the fridge and climbed into my 1 year old baby sister’s crib - - we ate a large portion, then we spread it all over ourselves, the crib, the wall and even managed to get some on the ceiling‼️🤯 Let’s just say that my mom wasn’t happy AT ALL‼️.

It goes by extremely fast! I dropped my son off at college last weekend and I couldn’t believe that we had went from pre-school to college so fast! I tell parents to enjoy these moments because the time is going to fly by and you won’t even know how you got there .

Im 64 now, my beloved wife passed away 10 years ago and our only daughter is 42 now with three girls of her own! That does bring back some good memories. God bless all dirty little girls may they make messes forever

I love her devilish laugh 🥰. So cute. When I was in the 6th grade, there was a catholic high school next door. It had rained a couple of days earlier and the track field was completely muddy. A friend and I decided to go "swimming in the mud". So much fun. We got some weird looks from the nuns, but in the end, they just laughed Then I had to go home and wash my clothes before my mom got home. Not sure what she would have done to me, but I sure didn't want to find out.

My best friend's little brother was my Mom's favorite neighborhood kid and she nicknamed him, "Pigpen." He had a hunting spaniel named Blue, and the two would regularly roll in the dirt or mud for fun. He was required to wear his clothing for 3 days, so things could get quite dirty. Shortly after he started coming over, my mother taught him to stand for inspection when entering our house, whereupon she would designate where he was allowed to be in our home. Many days, "the kitchen floor" was the only access he had. But on Christmas Eve, when my Mom would leave us and all the kids in the neighborhood whatever goodies she had prepared while the adults gathered elsewhere, little Joey would proudly enter the front door announcing his cleanliness - his bath, his clean clothes - to Mom and eagerly await the complete access to our home that she would grant him.
By the time he entered adulthood, he was fanatically clean!
I guess so having to wear his clothes for 3 days after rolling around with his dog. 😮
