Been watching your videos for a few years (multiple times) and just ordered a Wilson Combat SFT9 based on your high praise of the quality. Guys like you make the gun community great!
Wow, that's awesome! Congrats on the new Wilson! As always, I'm looking fwd. to your future vids w/this new shooter! Oh, and the little voice inside my head said to say: Black Stingray Hide...
thanks my friend, actually a very nice gentleman here sent me a Milt Sparks Nexus for a 4" - and I like that model as its like a TT Gunleather Slim Xc. Now black stingray hide - you mean trim for a holster???? Speaking of which....i didn't want to do a video about this but i was at a gun club last month and this really attractive woman .... she actually gave me crap for using a "leather" holster. I'm causing "pain" in the world. Blah blah blah blah. Ok she is using kydex for her G19. But she told me she is a vegan. that is the first time I have ever had someone tell me I should not be using leather!?
TheOl1911 Stingray anything, but it sounds like you are already set up nicely. Vegans at the gun club (?). I've never heard of them being anti leather holsters but I guess in their world it makes sense. Which is funny because cowboys don't blink when I say I'm wearing horsehide...
Because of these videos I am now formulating a plan on how I am going to go about the payment process for the Wilson Combat Vickers Tactical Elite Commander. The next buy would more than likely be the full sized version, both in 45 ACP of course.
range talk coming next - i wish i could get some footage but the ranges I go to do not want me recording... the last time I tried a girl at the range and her BF flipped out at me. No idea why but they alleged I was recording them. Whatever.
What do I think about the Wilson? That's a NICE 1911! I'm interested in the guide rod... I noticed that it rides inside a bushing--unlike the barrel. I'd be curious to see how the bushing stays in place. Is it press fit into the slide? I would think not. Maybe another video about breaking down this Officer-sized 1911? (hint, hint) 😉
Very nice carry piece! I actually just got into shooting 1911's. I was always into striker fired pistols and sig DA/SA, but I recently spent the day at the range with my buddy's range officer 1911 and I was more accurate with that than any of my glocks! It had a 5" barrel so the extra sight radius helped, I'm sure. But man, I was hitting everything I pointed that thing at!
I love the bushing-less bull barrels... but I can't do AL alloy frames. One of the reasons to buy a 1911 is the durability of the frames... carry it but don't shoot it too much
i hear ya - but I need to get at least 1k through this....if it works without a hitch I'll taper off and shoot it to remain proficient. Stay tuned for the initial range talk.
Dude. That's sexy. I have a hard time paying those prices (I end up doing my own custom work). I'd want to change only a couple things. Pretty sweet! I shot Larry Vickers pistol exactly like that a couple months ago (except in 9mm). Looking forward to the range report.
With the kind of price you paid for that very nice pistol, it should be able to feed any kind of rounds through it. I have a gold match kimber that I have owned sinced 1999, it's not as flawless and as expensive as your pistols, but I can feed all kinds of hallow point ammos through it without any problems. Very nice pistol I have to admit, enjoy it when you get the chance to take to the range.., shoot straight bro.
I'm partial to the old school single actions. An awesome carry piece in every way - best of luck PS Just thinking 4" vs 4 1/4" barrel length difference? I know 1/4" lol Al
Mr. Browning got it right the first time . . . 5" barrel and wear it on the belt (outside the trousers) . . . buy a plastic gun if you want a short barreled IWB sidearm. At least you got the caliber right! ha ha
TheOl1911 okay I hadn't heard that 160gr was recommended for a 4 inch gun, I was just thinking that going to 230gr would be best for testing reliability.
they are nice - i wanted to try their more aggressive style grip to see what its like but the stock ones are good to go. The ones on this gun however has some sharp edges near the bottom where the mainspring housing pin is.
Hey TheOl1911... I am following your lead kind of? A little older but I believe that same premise, I all most traded my Les Baer Stinger but just couldn't bring my self to give up a "Good One" so I've done the layaway thing with a substantial DP. Imitation is the best form of flattery although I do not expect to trade my GMC Sierra for a Ford Raptor lol ';-0 GB Link: www.gunbroker.com/item/868298474
Run the shit out of that thing see what it can do. When I get a new gun they come back beat up and broken in. Don't know if I could do it to Wilson though.

I don't think that I can give this enough thumbs up... What a perfect pair of 1911s!
Thanks my friend
Beautiful pistol my friend, congratulations on adding that one to the collection

It's the Hack's Baby Brother 😎😀👍🏼 Sweet Sweet Piece
Awesome looking 1911 the commander size 1911 are my favorite.
Sweet pistol and it should for a nearly $4000 price tag.
Well to be fair wasn't near that price tag but I understand what you mean...range talk vid up next!
Happy for you.......seems like real quality build. Never had a 4" style 1911. Best of luck and enjoy it. Looking forward to seeing how it does for you
thanks! range vid is next
VERY, VERY nice...congratulations.

Congrats on the pistol! Just like mine but i have the magwell installed and chambered in 9mm.
Hmmmm, maybe I should get the mag well but... we'll see, thanks man

Nice. Congrats brother
Nice pistol. Looks great.

The gold bead is also my favorite. I like the looks of that gun. Hopefully it performs as good as it looks.
Bro that gun is bad ass !
range talk coming next - i wish i could get some footage but the ranges I go to do not want me recording... the last time I tried a girl at the range and her BF flipped out at me. No idea why but they alleged I was recording them. Whatever.
GREAT WILSON!
very nice
Great Video! I'm curious why you would not have the same front & rear sights as your Hackathorn to give
the same sight picture .
Very nice pistol, but I will say that you have definitely drunk the Wilson kool-aid.
What do I think about the Wilson? That's a NICE 1911!

Drooool. Sweet pistol
Very nice carry piece!

Sweet pistol!
You ordered direct they have lots in stock on website and variety. I usually order direct.

Very nice, range vid next

WOW... Congrats, Nice Carry Piece ';-)
thanks my friend!
Ever have your grip screws come loose on your 1911s? And if you do, got any good ideas for fixing that?
The Baby Hack! 👌🏻
I know right
Should have broken it down would love to see the disassembly ??
nice guns buddy.
Try Federal HST 230+p or standard pressure you might like it. My shorty 1911's love it.
I do have a few boxes of HST in +p and standard. I will try it....but I am being told to stick to 160gr by the man himself!
Not to be whiner, but I actually do like seeing the test targets :)
shoot next time? or maybe a special vid, LOL...
I’m about to order an Ed Brown Kobra Carry. How do you think this compares?
It's Beautiful !!!!
I Want a Springfield EMP 4 9mm 4" than runs the 10 Rd magazines rather than the Bobtail Carry.
yes a bunch of people are asking me about the EMP 4 - I don't know anyone that has one though
I'm partial to the old school single actions. An awesome carry piece in every way - best of luck
PS Just thinking 4" vs 4 1/4" barrel length difference? I know 1/4" lol
Al
Sweet pistol
Both look great! I have a feeling you'll be carrying the compact a lot. ;)
i really hope so - range talk coming up next with a funny story about a Glock which I'm sure I'll get flack for but I had to put it into the vid.
4in. 1911's eat recoil springs... flat wire too... nice blaster though! Encourage shock buffs in aluminum frames, but then reliability suffers...
Mr. Browning got it right the first time . . . 5" barrel and wear it on the belt (outside the trousers) . . . buy a plastic gun if you want a short barreled IWB sidearm. At least you got the caliber right! ha ha
does it have a ramped barrel?or have steel, titanium insert of the frame ramp?
Nice pistol man... What is the price of that beautiful pistol?
Have you tried the 230 grain dpx? I know that's what Clint smith runs.
I have not no... Yes I have heard that as well. I have the 185gr+p DPX that ran well in my govt 1911s... but the 160gr was recommended for the 4"...
TheOl1911 okay I hadn't heard that 160gr was recommended for a 4 inch gun, I was just thinking that going to 230gr would be best for testing reliability.
That looks like a firearm you can carry all year long. I hope she is a shooter for you.
me too - stay tuned for the range talk with a funny story about a Glock...that i know i'll get flack for
Merry Christmas. Lol
nice carry piece, but honestly bummed you sold the elite!
making me feel bad, hahaha... but I really hope this gun becomes my CCW.
Very nice gun but I just cant get over the ridiculous price tag.
How do you like the feel of the WC Starburst grips?
they are nice - i wanted to try their more aggressive style grip to see what its like but the stock ones are good to go. The ones on this gun however has some sharp edges near the bottom where the mainspring housing pin is.
i've noticed on my sig 238 fiber front sight that it still glows on very dark urban environment. anyone noticed this too?
Glock 23 13 rounds but i will keep willson in safe
Wow.
no skeletonized trigger?
I like the solid....
Has anyone ever told you that you sound like cutlerylover?
no, hahaha - Garfield and some guy fourtunatecookie45lc?
Man, You're making me very Jealous.
terrible choice on ammo. if u need lighter go 185 gold dot

Hey there! Good deal. Don’t get rid of any “Good ones” take it from me!! I always regret. But very nice!!!!
Run the shit out of that thing see what it can do. When I get a new gun they come back beat up and broken in. Don't know if I could do it to Wilson though.
EXTREMELY OVER PRICED! ALOT BETTER OPTIONS OUT THERE FOR A FIFTH OF THE PRICE.
$4000 :|
