When I think about "jazz," a piano trio is what I think of, and in exactly this style. Been a jazz fan for decades but always found it challenging to find exactly this style, it's just great. It's background music, but yet a background you pay attention to.
Alas, my being a musician and performing for years steadily and clearly no time for listening to others. I am unfamiliar with Eddie but what a fine jazz pianist. Recently discovered him through his working with Scott Hamilton, the greatest sax man of the 20th century and certainly now into the 21st. God bless RUclips for being a site that has all these great talents.

I certainly dressed the part nightly in a different tailor-made tux. Gone are the days. I no longer play because of many years ago I got serious scarring in my right hand and over the years the scarring has drawn up my hand. About a year and a half ago I sat down to play and I couldn't stretch my hand far enough to play a particular chord. I was totally shocked and the fingers just don't work anymore. Life goes on.

Not sure how I missed listening to Eddie and his Trio. I mean I live in his home town of Chicago. Just stumbled across his album ‘bewitched’. Just real classy sound and pleasant arrangement. Just good vibes all around. This album seems similar. Nice song selection.
Lovely album of soft swinging piano-trio jazz. Eddie recorded heaps of these LP’s. “Blame It On My Youth” - Oscar Levant’s - timeless composition is among my favourite. Anyone interested should check out Chet Baker’s rendition, and Keith Jarrett’s, just fabulous, folks.G’day & Cheers! PS: must add that Eddie’s LP sleeve-covers always portray these lovely coolish-looking ladies.

I couldn’t of said it better myself! Especially since I’ve only gotten into jazz over the last few years. This is a perfect gateway album.
I prefer trio or quartet to big band orchestra swing/jazz things

what year was THIS RECORDED PLEASE ? In the 1980's I performed at 2 Jazz venues on Cape Cod where Eddie H. was also performing off and on.....
recorded in 2002 Higgins was 72 years old but you would never know it
