I’m so happy we’re getting slashers with chase scenes, and characters that actually fight back again! For so many years in the slasher genre, we’ve seen characters get ambushed and killed immediately. This is a refreshing return to form.
Absolutely. Or at least have a healthy balance of both? Like freezing is a legitimate fear response but doesn't make for an exciting horror movie (unless the viewer just enjoys watching people get killed, which, YIKES)
Prior to the original Halloween I was NOT a fan of slasher horror. I found the (usually) women victims just SOOOO dumb that I almost wanted the killer to get them just so they'd get off my screen. Almost. At least I wanted the movie to be over with. Then Lourie Strode was written as somebody who I could (mostly) route for. I remember thinking "Geeze she would have had him when she stabbed him through the throat with a knitting needle if he hadn't been the boogie man." Since then Laurie kept the flame and Sidney Prescott joined her in the pantheon of women you wanted to fight back and win and that opened up a genre of horror to me that I used to dread. Glad to here this movie also gives me that. Haven't seen it yet but am going to watch it before finishing watching this recap. I skipped to the end to see if she liked it. I would have just watched this recap and skipped the movie if she hadn't liked it.
Leave it to Kevin Williamson to show the new girlies how it's DONE! He put all the chase scenes that have been missing from horror into one movie and called it a day. I adore him
I really liked the moral ambiguity of Parker; she’s definitely not perfect, especially since she went to a party during the height of the pandemic. I feel like there’s often not a lot of representation for female characters-especially in horror-to be morally grey or layered but also the ones you’re supposed to root for. That’s an aspect of Kevin Williamson’s work I really admire. You can really see it in his other characters, too, like Gale Weathers.
Gale Weathers ISN'T morally grey. She is ambitious and driven. She crashed the van not to kill Sidney, she woke up and could have left with her footage and saved herself, but went back to Stu's house and helped to save 4 people's lives.
@@existenz001 No, she IS morally grey. I never said that’s a bad thing but you can’t tell me Gale was a good person at the start of the series. She exploits tragedies for her own gain and harasses Sidney to try and take advantage of Sidney’s attack and subsequent trauma. Yes, when push comes to shove, Gale does the right thing but she’s definitely morally grey. I don’t even know why you would try to argue that she isn’t, do you even know what it means? lmao
I gotta give props to DJ because he ended up being a real one. I thought he was gonna be a douche, but him trying to make sure Parker was safe first, then running headlong into danger to get Miri (even though he didn't seem to like her that much). THEN staying to fight the killer so Miri could try to get away, causing his own death! You earned a place in heaven my dude.
One thing I realized after watching is if Benji's insane family had not terrorized them and forced Parker to take a Covid test she would have passed it on to Miri unknowingly who would have then passed it onto her sick father who likely would have died from Covid complications. The killers were awful but Parker could have caused the death of her best friends father and that is horrifying.
I love how you can root for the girls or super hate the killers or even root for them depending on your politics. It’s such a smart way to show how the pandemic has divided us and made us all on edge and unable to make the right decisions/judgement calls even when we try our best like Mary who should have never went (now she has trauma, broken leg and Covid) or the killers who are understandably upset but taking it too far and represents so many ppl who will hate them even more bc the pandemic is over and they’re doing too much or feel catharsis for ppl being reckless and killing a loved one. Kevin is so good. I’ve hated all the other media trying to include Covid
TRULY! I would hope (since Miri has sense) that she would have taken a test before seeing her dad but even if she did contract the quarantine period should’ve allowed her virus to run its course before she saw him. Regardless Parker is MESSY!
The one thing that wasn’t taken into account it’s possible that Parker could’ve caught covid at the party herself and passed it along to others without knowing about it. While she shouldn’t have gone to the party it’s not entirely her fault as other people we’re responsible as well for this.
how does that even make sense? they were together for a whole day, she would have caught it regardless also the movie was poking fun at the mask thing to begin with, Miri scolds Parker to wear a mask outdoors and IN THE CAR during their drive to the house, but once they enter the house they just remove it.... that just perfectly represented how easily people can be manipulated without even thinking, like okay, if you want to believe a 2mm thick cloth will protect you from anything, whatever, but then you wear it sometimes and then you don't wear it around the exact same person you are afraid of having the illness like this dumbassery was present in my country too, where you could go outside during daytime and not even needed a mask, but once it was 8pm, lockdown but why? does Covid sleep or does it have a coffee break during daytime? when more people are outdoors in general? it's so stupid, and it's sad how they managed to fool so many people into obeying these dumbass rules that had 0 logic

"Who comes home and doesn't lock their door?" That was exactly my response 😂 It always seems to be an afterthought in these movies, which is why they're getting killed!
Your commentary heals my soul!!! Seriously, you are so funny and fierce. I always feel so happy after watching your reactions. This was fantastic. I gotta watch this movie now. Although it won't be anywhere near as fun without you, it's still Kevin.
This is what I needed! Hey YALLLL. I’m definitely going to watch this on my own, very scream all the way. This is like the scream we can’t have because the producers shut it down. Main girls give Sidney energy!
I was confused on why so many people in this movie saw a WIDE OPEN DOOR in their homes and instead of running outside with the nearest weapon and immediately phoning the police, they just sort of went "hmmmm" and SHUT THE DOOR when someone is OBVIOUSLY in the house. Then again, Scream logic lmao. Still loved the flick! Great commentary on the early stages of the panorama and the mass hysteria that occurred. I may be reading too much into it, but I knew a few people who lost loved ones to covid in the early days (and later days) and they obsessively tried to find out who the single person was that infected their loved one instead of recognizing that the deceased put themselves in an unsafe environment of some sort (parties, taking cheap international trips, and just general ignoring of the guidelines) or just understanding that it's a virus that could come from anywhere, even if you're being cautious. In trying to pinpoint who exactly infected their son, the entire family in this movie was destroyed by the obsession.
Oh I'm so happy to finally have you back, and I'm glad you've recovered and I hope you had a wonderful makeup holiday! Sick was a very fun movie, top tier final girls, short and super sweet. Here's to another year of your reactions, will be waiting with BATED breath for you to get to M3gan now that it hit On Demand today! (Also selfishly hoping you haven't gotten to Nope yet so we can watch it with you.)
Alanda, I'm going through a very stressful period right now and watching your videos and listening along while I write always feels me with such comfort and peace. You are such a lovely person, thank you so much for your videos providing peace and comfort and joy to me and so many others.
You should check out The Faculty (1998) it’s another good Kevin Williamson gig. Also Red Eye (2005) is a great thriller from our boo Wes Craven starring that badhi herself Regina George
The mom's name is Pamela like Pamela Voorhees, Jason's mom from Friday the 13th. Love Kevin for that....oh and I love how Alanda ALWAYS gives the characters in a movie a nick name. :) :)
This movie gave me so much life, it was like a refreshing breath of air. And I can see the dad having military training and that’s why he’s so good at killing. I dont even see many criticisms with it, its so generic, maybe, but it shows the dangers of being irresponsible, it is extremely intense, acting is good, its just well done despite the generic plot.

We love final girls with a fight in them! Some easter eggs you may have missed: 1. They make a joke how it can’t be Jason Vorhees because it’s not Friday the 13th. The film was released on Peacock on Friday the 13th. 2. The mother is named Pamela and is avenging her sons death. Jason’s mother is named Pamela and is avenging her sons death. Thanks for the hilarious and great reaction as always ❤
Scream, I Know What You Did Last Summer, The Faculty, Teaching Mrs. Tingle, Cursed, and now this... There's so much we have to thankful to Kevin for in film^.^ [BTW I *need* you to react to Cursed(2005) someday; there's so much about that movie I need to know your opinion on~ It was a staple at sleepovers for me & my friends and constantly quoted to each other^.^]
Also during quarantine I started watching the vampire diaries and was surprised it was way better than I thought. But by season 4, it was pretty bad, I wondered what happened. Then I looked it up, Kevin Williamson helped write the first 3 seasons and left during season 3. That’s why the show went downhill by season 4. He’s very good writer
Great video as always! I just knew you would love this movie and watching your reaction was so fun, like watching the movie with a good and hilarious friend. Kevin really is the greatest isn’t he? ❤
First time seeing it watching your video (was on my list). ❤Kevin. Just imagine what Scream 3 and Scre4m could have been without the studio interference! I still love the all the Scream movies though (thank you Sidney!) This was another great watch on your channel, as always. 😊
“Y’all just killing people all over the state?!” 😂 I recently watched for the first time it was sooo good I didn’t know Kevin was involved! The lady with the mask was hilarious scene.

So happy to see your reaction to this movie! Once I saw this movie I was hoping to get a reaction video from you. Kevin Williamson is the best with slashers.
THE QUEEN IS BAAAAAACK!!!! 👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿 I had JUST finished screaming my head off at Zzavid's reaction to this movie when I see you've uploaded this! so here I am to scream some more🤣🤣
I love, love your reactions! I was just wondering if you've ever reacted to older films around the 50's-60s? The films that I'm talking about are Wait Until Dark (1967), The Nanny (1965), and Whatever Happened to Baby Jane (1962). They are more like suspense thrillers and will have you on the edge of your seat. If you watch Wait Until Dark, that's a movie that should be watched with the lights off.
OK, first of all, I LOVE the Mojo Jojo sweatshirt you have on. And secondly, this is one of my top 5 favorite reactions from you. On Twitter, this movie was trending, and when I saw Kevin THE Williamson's name on it, I knew it was gonna be entertaining. You, Zzavid, and Nick reacting to this provided me with so much serotonin. 🥰🥰
I liked the moment when what we thought was the passerby in the car asked Parker to put on the mask first before helping her. It would be understandable for someone to ask that, I think. I mean, if she was COVID positive, she might have infected the driver, and that might mean death for the driver… so it’s either your life or mine. If I was the driver and there was no mask available, I’d have told the girl to get on the hood and hang on while I drive away.
It's not understandable at all. If someone is getting chased by a knife wielding psycho and is all bloodied up, the last thing is worry about is getting covid. That was the point of the gag..
I like how the girls bring up Jason Voorhees being outside earlier in the film and the two parents are literally named Jason and Pamela. Classic Kevin Williamson right there 🤣
YES, like a shooting star at the end of a very cloudy day, an upload from my favorite RUclipsr! And I just watched this movie last night. As always, can't wait to hear your thoughts, and have some laughs. THANK YOU for watching movies with us, friend. 🙏💙 You have garnered a truly lovely, positive community.
A very good horror movie. So far it’s been hitting with the horror movies with M3GAN and Sick love your content 💙. Both your reaction to this movie and ZZZAVID’s made my day sm better.
I was so pleasantly surprised with this. The Covid stuff always annoyed me in tv shows but it worked in this. The final girls were great. Pacing was amazing. Never dull
Interesting movie. Thanks for bringing it to my attention. The characters made obligatory dumb mistakes (both killers and victims were pretty incompetent… I couldn’t believe those girls just sat in the truck honking the horn, of all things, when the killer was attacking the guy… get away or go help… but horn honking!?… with no one else around… and to be shocked when the killer reached out through the window when the window was the only place the killer could have reached you through! Frustrating!) But it was tense overall and effective. I liked how the pandemic came into play throughout the movie.
I’m so happy we’re getting slashers with chase scenes, and characters that actually fight back again! For so many years in the slasher genre, we’ve seen characters get ambushed and killed immediately. This is a refreshing return to form.

1. They make a joke how it can’t be Jason Vorhees because it’s not Friday the 13th. The film was released on Peacock on Friday the 13th.
2. The mother is named Pamela and is avenging her sons death. Jason’s mother is named Pamela and is avenging her sons death.
Thanks for the hilarious and great reaction as always
❤
Yeah, I loved watching this!! Parker is so badass. That girl was running for forever & kicking their asses hahaha. Thank goodness for Miri too!
You're the best to watch movies with! Your videos genuinely bring me so much joy, thank you !
I love your reaction and every movie Kevin Willamson puts his hands on are just perfect
Just finished ZZavid's now im here to watch the Queens reaction to this
Great video as always!
Not you killing that Kelly Clarkson note 😍 I can’t wait to watch this movie w you!!!
Girl and I just seen the powerpuff girls sweater too omg i love you 😭
You can always tell Alanda is intrigued in a movie when her hand is resting on her chin and her eyes ain’t movin😂❤️
girl, I KNEW you were gonna love it. the amount of action in a 1h 23 minutes movie is insane. kevin williamson, you did it again sir!
Alanda I always watch your reactions regardless if I've seen the movie before! The BEST channel on RUclips! I suggest 13 Ghosts (2001), Death Becomes Her and as always Evil Dead (2013).
You NEED to see The Faculty before the next Scream. Late 90’s Kevin Williamson doing Sci-fi horror. It’s fabulous.
I am so happy you really enjoyed this movie! I was honestly surprised how much I loved it! As soon as I finished it I knew you just had to see it! I love your videos! Thank you so much for being amazing! :)
So happy to see your reaction to this movie! Once I saw this movie I was hoping to get a reaction video from you. Kevin Williamson is the best with slashers.
THE QUEEN IS BAAAAAACK!!!! 👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿 I had JUST finished screaming my head off at Zzavid's reaction to this movie when I see you've uploaded this! so here I am to scream some more🤣🤣
Same!! I love them both, they're both my fav reactors.
Just watched the movie yesterday in preparation for THIS video 😂❤
0:32 it’s the mojo jojo sweatshirt for meeeee!!!
the "Im disgusted" when she fell from the house haha love this reaction!
Lovin' your Mojo Jojo sweater! Also Miri is queen.
Your sweatshirt is sending me back. Love it!
It’s always a good day when Alanda drops a new reaction video. Immediately stopped what I was watching just to see it!!
@@daytonsouthall1137 maybe understandable is not the right word. Feasible. Possible. Realistic to that period in time when we were all uncertain.
The QUEEN is back! Hopefully healthier with her Mojo Jojo! 🙌
Alanda quote of the day: "Not my namesake! Not the name I give at Starbucks!"
As Quanner mentioned... Roger L. Jackson voiced both Ghostface (the Scream franchise) / Mojo Jojo (The Powerpuff Girls, hence AP's sweater).
“We’re still living like this stop” no fr 😭 we will never know peace 😩😭
I like how the girls bring up Jason Voorhees being outside earlier in the film and the two parents are literally named Jason and Pamela. Classic Kevin Williamson right there 🤣
YES, like a shooting star at the end of a very cloudy day, an upload from my favorite RUclipsr! And I just watched this movie last night. As always, can't wait to hear your thoughts, and have some laughs. THANK YOU for watching movies with us, friend. 🙏💙 You have garnered a truly lovely, positive community.
'Girl, you're getting tossed around like a basketball' freaking hilarious.
You and zzavid should do a duet one day. My gay heart might not be able to take it lol
Yasss! I’ve been waiting for this! I just knew you’d love to watch yet another Kevin Williamson’s script! Happy New Year! 🎊
I watched SICK before work this morning just to see your (& ZZAVID's) reaction! A great way to start the day 💖
"This very violent! This is very f*cked up! I'm into it though!" 😂😂 Alanda you've come such a long way!
Never dull
This is one of my favorite of her vids to go back and watch. The rain adds to it
Parker is a beast
always love watching your reviews, and I LOVE your sweater 💕
"This is is very violent, this is fu6kdup...I'm into it though". Classic, perfect example of why I became a subscriber😂.
Giddy (gideon adlon) is one of my childhood friends its still so funny to me seeing people react to her acting
I liked how the pandemic came into play throughout the movie.
such a good movie! loved your reaction as always queen
if you haven’t seen it i recommend the menu. it was so good. 10/10.
Yesss the menu is awesome
26:14 - 27:20 had me rolling! Your commentary on the Car Lady reveal was ✨delightful✨
