@@glast8986 Luffy couldn't just count on Kuzan when the atmosphere was that hectic and everyone was after him , plus Kuzan was fighting many of Whitebeard's commanders and allies.Kuzan is more of a wise polar opposite to what Luffy believes , whenever he starts speaking about justice , pirates , the One Piece etc. Luffy just listens to him completely voiceless not interrupting him at all , whilst when somebody else does this he always fires back.Same situation with Fujitora and his grandfather or Coby as well.
To be fair swords are his weakness along with how zoro got steamrolled at baratie by mihawk, he hadn’t really seen the admirals power (except kizaru in sabaody) and probably thought his allies would deal with them, whitebeard was legit his ally so why would he be scared of him, and he probably just thought sengoku was another admiral

Mihawk at Marineford wasn't trying AT ALL. He simply didn't *need* to defeat Vista or Crocoboy. Once he saw that Luffy had the most dangerous power on his side, Mihawks curiousity was satisfied and he stopped chasing Luffy. At this point he basically had nothing better to do than fighting some strong opponents, because he wasn't interested in the War in the first place.

Mihawk was not going after Luffy in the Marineford War. He was using unnamed attacks. When fighting Vista he could've tried defeating Vista to get past him but he was looking past Vista and thinking about how cool Luffy is to have people help him. The fact also might remain that Mihawk has conquering king's haki. This would mean he would've been one of the only on that side to have it but none of the people on that side used it. (I think Sengoku was confirmed to have it and Garp likely has it too).

I'm just wondering how someone of his title agreed to be an agent of the Marines. Every other warlord had motives to use the world government for whatever purpose so what did Mihawk have to gain besides partial immunity?

Not Roger or Rayleigh or Shanks achieved a feat of turning your blade black. Only Sword God Ryuma the strongest man and swordsman in his era achieved it as well. 12:00 - I never felt that Mihawk didn't wow me during the war (rather I felt the people he was going up against were just strong, he was holding back a bit, and most everything we saw were scraps of skirmishes). However the one moment he DID wow me was when he *casually* completely cut one of the gigantic frozen tsunami waves Aokiji had stopped because he missed luffy. I looked at that and instantly realized how big the gap between Zoro and his dream still was.
also when zoro used one of his strongest attacks to stop fujitoros meteor just to only be able to cut it in half and still be in danger, then mihawk comes along with a weak nonchalant no named regular slash and completely turns the meteor to dust lol... Lately it seems like everyone is using bounties to power scale. While I’m not discrediting that high bounty are a test of strength, it’s not test of strength alone. There is so much that’s taken into account when printing out a bounty and the bounty system is flawed examples are Buggy and Chopper

I have always been confused how Mihawk and Garp can go up against Shanks and Roger without Con. Haki. Either they have it or there are other hacks related to Armament and Obs. Haki that are yet to be mentioned. Maybe Swordsmanship itself is a power system separated from DF and Haki, that significantly enhanced Mihawk’s AP. This could allow us to make sense of the bizarre phenomena surrounding Zoro’s Ashura forms, Vista’s rose petals and Shanks flaming sword.
It’s incredibly likely that they both have advanced conqueror’s haki. When Luffy first used conqueror’s haki in front of Ivankov, Ivankov noted that of course Luffy has it since he is Dragon’s son after all… this implies Dragon has it too and it’s hereditary. It follows that Garp should have conqueror’s haki. With regards to Mihawk, since Zoro has king’s haki (advanced) it should automatically give Mihawk that ability as Zoro is still trying to catch up to Mihawk. If that isn’t enough, it requires an unwavering spirit to become the greatest in the world at something, i.e. the spirit of a conqueror. Rayleigh also uses a sword and has advanced king’s haki, Oden was a swordsman with king’s haki. If all these other swordsmen have King’s Haki and Mihawk is the greatest of them all, he should have it too.

Mihawk bounty does make sense to be over 3 billion. Even crocodile has around 2 billion, the pirate who failed to overtake a kingdom. Whereas Mihawk is the world's best swordsman as well as the Marine Hunter, and if the bounty represents the pirate's threat to the world government then I wouldn't mind placing Mihawk's bounty right below Dragon.
Depends which subreddit you did it in. One Piece’s main subreddit consists of mostly Shanks > Mihawk supporters. I saw someone make a Shanks > Mihawk thread in the OP subreddit and it was highly praised; whenever you try making a Mihawk > Shanks thread in the OP subreddit, you’re bound to be downvoted to hell.

I'm interested in the possibility that Rayleigh was the previous greatest swordman and mihawk defeated him Because I don't believe that mihawk got his title by hunting Marines and dueling with shanks, I'm not sure but it was shanks that got more fame by fighting mihawk and not the other way around (Maybe I'm wrong with this one tho) If that is truly the case then that means he has reached a level of haki that no other character or few characters have achieved..just by the fact that his swords are all the time twenty four seven black is showcase of his super advanced haki I'm almost certain that he is a master of all haki and obviously swordmanship..
This is really what I think, it would've been cool if we heard Zoro ask Rayleigh if he'd ever fought Mihawk. And Mihawk was already well known before the Great Pirate Era, and Shanks was just a rookie, so Shanks probably challenged Mihawk. Hopefully we'll get a definitive answer when Luffy and Shanks meet.

Captains and Emperors get basically a multiplier to their bounty, since they're the leaders of powerful forces. So it's insane that Mihawk has this big of a bounty as just a member. It's still probably bigger than if he would be solo, but we can compare it to anyone else who's not a leader and just a part of a pirate crew. So yeah, Mihawk may not have been hyped up as much as Shanks, but I think we'll finally see what Mihawk is capable of while going at 100% power soon, and it will be hyyyyype.

I think mihawk definitely is the strongest swordsman but I’m assuming the haki reserve or will power I should say that shanks displays and haves is probably eventually overwhelming, now fights (especially fights in one piece) aren’t as cut an dry as 1+1 so it’s definitely possible in a fight mihawk could come out on top seeing as they might lack where the other shines

Big Mom and Kaido’s bounties still haven’t been surpassed. Shanks has the highest one currently but Mihawk has the most impressive bounty as a stand-alone pirate.

I believe that if Hawkeye and shanks thought it would still be pretty damn even. Shanks would have much more powerful haki, and could take out Hawkeyes future site, but Hawkeye would have the better sword skill since shanks lost his dominant hand saving Luffy. Although I do have a contested viewpoint that Hawkeye could actually beat Blackbeard if you were to go all out. It seems to me that Hawkeye has far more experience and skill when it comes to haki and could probably easily kill Blackbeard without Blackbeard even realizing what happened.

His eyes have some special ability, Vega punk made those clones with special eyes as he gave the little boa special eyes too. I’m wondering if that’s what zoro closed eye is, a special eye you get through a ritual
The thing that I am going to say is not about mihawk, it’s about luffy’s df. I think the true power of hito hito no mi model: nika is to use powers that he sees from his enemies and ally’s for example when luffy manipulate environment in the fight with kaido he sees that from katakuri and doflamingo. The other thing is his red hawk and roc attacks I thing he copy that attack from his older brother ace and the last thing is his lightning attack he sees that from enel.
Here’s the thing it can be argued that since it was said he has better swords skill than shanks rather than he’s stronger than shanks that this fight could go either way. It is also shown that Mihawk has fought many strong swordsman. Which suggests that he seeks out swordsman to duel. Compared to shanks who is more laid back and likes to travel. Also Mihawk has a black blade which means he certainly knows his way around a sword. Honestly I think it can be argued back and forth who’d win but we won’t know for sure until Oda confirms it.
Man I haven't seen a Warframe ad online for the longest time. It's really such a great game I used the run with the Rhino prime but stopped playing years ago.
Somehow I dont want zoro and Mihawk to fight each other, but fight together, It would be so cool, Mihawk is his teacher does make any sense to fight without any reason.

Mihawk is the strongest swordsman, he's more technically skilled and would win if solely fought with a blade, but what about with Haki involved, Shanks has a massive amount of Haki and he's also never been shown as actually trying his hardest.

Going based off of the Databooks, Mihawk would be superior to Shanks, at least in terms of skill. If it is blade-to-blade, Mihawk wins. Shanks may have the overall advantage if his Haki is simply the best we've seen. People note how Mihawk having a high bounty and no crew must mean he is Yonko-tier+ based off that alone, but they forget he is dubbed the "Marine Hunter" and his bounty was further increased after the Shichibukai were abolished. He could've simply gotten a high bounty by constantly challenging and murdering high level marines, perhaps even an Admiral or two. Mihawk's feats have him being one of very few individuals who did not lose a drop of blood during the war while the majority of these individuals were locked in combat against the pirate alliance and particularly the Commanders (Doflamingo engaged Atmos, Jozu and possibly others while Mihawk fought Vista and we see him fight another on-panel). I always knew Mihawk was a top-tier fighter, especially since he is Zoro's end-goal, and suspect he's at least stronger than the Admirals... perhaps strong enough to defeat a Yonko in single combat.
Funny enough when one piece began and the mountain bandits were messing with Shanks at some point you would have thought they were stronger than Shanks’s crew but turned out they were not in the same league, Shanks doesn’t seem to be into titles and all he’s just a free soul, who would allow even buggy to insult him and make people feel he’s stronger but only the top dogs know he’s strength even though he’s a one handed sword man

It was always clear to me that Mihawk was and is the strongest SWORDSMAN. However, we have to take into account that they specifically mention "greater sword skills". Implying that when it comes to sword skills, Mihawk is superior. But let's not forget that shanks is most likely the one individual in One Piece who stands at the top when it comes to mastery over all 3 types of Haki. All in all, I definitely think that they are either equals or Shanks is slightly stronger. I don't see a world where the one Luffy aspires to be is weaker than the character Zero (his right hand man) aspire to beat. Oda wouldn't just do that. It would make 0 sense.

Again bounties are given individually based on the individual's threats not because of their crew. Mihawk has been and always will be the strongest swordsman but imagine Shanks losing his better arm still second behind Hawkeye in terms of sword skill. And duels between two swordsman are strickly limited on only using swords that's why Mahawk surely wins against Shanks in a duel but in a fight where everything is allowed you can definitely bet your money on Shanks.

Mihawk at Marineford wasn't trying AT ALL. He simply didn't *need* to defeat Vista or Crocoboy. Once he saw that Luffy had the most dangerous power on his side, Mihawks curiousity was satisfied and he stopped chasing Luffy. At this point he basically had nothing better to do than fighting some strong opponents, because he wasn't interested in the War in the first place.

Mihawk was not going after Luffy in the Marineford War. He was using unnamed attacks. When fighting Vista he could've tried defeating Vista to get past him but he was looking past Vista and thinking about how cool Luffy is to have people help him.
The fact also might remain that Mihawk has conquering king's haki. This would mean he would've been one of the only on that side to have it but none of the people on that side used it. (I think Sengoku was confirmed to have it and Garp likely has it too).

12:00 - I never felt that Mihawk didn't wow me during the war (rather I felt the people he was going up against were just strong, he was holding back a bit, and most everything we saw were scraps of skirmishes). However the one moment he DID wow me was when he *casually* completely cut one of the gigantic frozen tsunami waves Aokiji had stopped because he missed luffy. I looked at that and instantly realized how big the gap between Zoro and his dream still was.

Lately it seems like everyone is using bounties to power scale. While I’m not discrediting that high bounty are a test of strength, it’s not test of strength alone. There is so much that’s taken into account when printing out a bounty and the bounty system is flawed examples are Buggy and Chopper

I have always been confused how Mihawk and Garp can go up against Shanks and Roger without Con. Haki. Either they have it or there are other hacks related to Armament and Obs. Haki that are yet to be mentioned. Maybe Swordsmanship itself is a power system separated from DF and Haki, that significantly enhanced Mihawk’s AP. This could allow us to make sense of the bizarre phenomena surrounding Zoro’s Ashura forms, Vista’s rose petals and Shanks flaming sword.
It’s incredibly likely that they both have advanced conqueror’s haki. When Luffy first used conqueror’s haki in front of Ivankov, Ivankov noted that of course Luffy has it since he is Dragon’s son after all… this implies Dragon has it too and it’s hereditary. It follows that Garp should have conqueror’s haki.
With regards to Mihawk, since Zoro has king’s haki (advanced) it should automatically give Mihawk that ability as Zoro is still trying to catch up to Mihawk. If that isn’t enough, it requires an unwavering spirit to become the greatest in the world at something, i.e. the spirit of a conqueror. Rayleigh also uses a sword and has advanced king’s haki, Oden was a swordsman with king’s haki. If all these other swordsmen have King’s Haki and Mihawk is the greatest of them all, he should have it too.

Mihawk bounty does make sense to be over 3 billion. Even crocodile has around 2 billion, the pirate who failed to overtake a kingdom.
Whereas Mihawk is the world's best swordsman as well as the Marine Hunter, and if the bounty represents the pirate's threat to the world government then I wouldn't mind placing Mihawk's bounty right below Dragon.

This is really what I think, it would've been cool if we heard Zoro ask Rayleigh if he'd ever fought Mihawk. And Mihawk was already well known before the Great Pirate Era, and Shanks was just a rookie, so Shanks probably challenged Mihawk. Hopefully we'll get a definitive answer when Luffy and Shanks meet.

Captains and Emperors get basically a multiplier to their bounty, since they're the leaders of powerful forces.
So it's insane that Mihawk has this big of a bounty as just a member. It's still probably bigger than if he would be solo, but we can compare it to anyone else who's not a leader and just a part of a pirate crew. So yeah, Mihawk may not have been hyped up as much as Shanks, but I think we'll finally see what Mihawk is capable of while going at 100% power soon, and it will be hyyyyype.

I believe that if Hawkeye and shanks thought it would still be pretty damn even. Shanks would have much more powerful haki, and could take out Hawkeyes future site, but Hawkeye would have the better sword skill since shanks lost his dominant hand saving Luffy. Although I do have a contested viewpoint that Hawkeye could actually beat Blackbeard if you were to go all out. It seems to me that Hawkeye has far more experience and skill when it comes to haki and could probably easily kill Blackbeard without Blackbeard even realizing what happened.

The thing that I am going to say is not about mihawk, it’s about luffy’s df. I think the true power of hito hito no mi model: nika is to use powers that he sees from his enemies and ally’s for example when luffy manipulate environment in the fight with kaido he sees that from katakuri and doflamingo. The other thing is his red hawk and roc attacks I thing he copy that attack from his older brother ace and the last thing is his lightning attack he sees that from enel.

It is also shown that Mihawk has fought many strong swordsman. Which suggests that he seeks out swordsman to duel. Compared to shanks who is more laid back and likes to travel. Also Mihawk has a black blade which means he certainly knows his way around a sword. Honestly I think it can be argued back and forth who’d win but we won’t know for sure until Oda confirms it.

Going based off of the Databooks, Mihawk would be superior to Shanks, at least in terms of skill. If it is blade-to-blade, Mihawk wins. Shanks may have the overall advantage if his Haki is simply the best we've seen. People note how Mihawk having a high bounty and no crew must mean he is Yonko-tier+ based off that alone, but they forget he is dubbed the "Marine Hunter" and his bounty was further increased after the Shichibukai were abolished. He could've simply gotten a high bounty by constantly challenging and murdering high level marines, perhaps even an Admiral or two.
Mihawk's feats have him being one of very few individuals who did not lose a drop of blood during the war while the majority of these individuals were locked in combat against the pirate alliance and particularly the Commanders (Doflamingo engaged Atmos, Jozu and possibly others while Mihawk fought Vista and we see him fight another on-panel).
I always knew Mihawk was a top-tier fighter, especially since he is Zoro's end-goal, and suspect he's at least stronger than the Admirals... perhaps strong enough to defeat a Yonko in single combat.

It was always clear to me that Mihawk was and is the strongest SWORDSMAN. However, we have to take into account that they specifically mention "greater sword skills". Implying that when it comes to sword skills, Mihawk is superior. But let's not forget that shanks is most likely the one individual in One Piece who stands at the top when it comes to mastery over all 3 types of Haki.
All in all, I definitely think that they are either equals or Shanks is slightly stronger. I don't see a world where the one Luffy aspires to be is weaker than the character Zero (his right hand man) aspire to beat. Oda wouldn't just do that. It would make 0 sense.

Again bounties are given individually based on the individual's threats not because of their crew. Mihawk has been and always will be the strongest swordsman but imagine Shanks losing his better arm still second behind Hawkeye in terms of sword skill. And duels between two swordsman are strickly limited on only using swords that's why Mahawk surely wins against Shanks in a duel but in a fight where everything is allowed you can definitely bet your money on Shanks.

Mihawk is friends with Shanks. He agreed to fight White beard probably because he wanted some entertainment but he didn't want to fight his friend in service to the marines.
