I live in Very very humid environment, after silk pressing my hair, I add coconut oil. It seals in moisture as well as keep it out. It is a game changer for me. I didn't know if could become a straight haired natural until I knew my hair would hold it in the humid environment I live in. I AM A STRAIGHT HAIRED NATURAL NOW!!! PRAISE THE LORD!!! God knew this was one of my desires! He gave me the product, the technique and the ability to do it myself. God is so Good and I am so thankful!! Not to mention I have been retaining my hair. Hair growth!!!
Hey I live in Florida would this work for me? I havent silked press in about 10 years and I'm afraid to spend money to get it done because the humidity ruined my last silk press 😭
I converted to a straight hair natural last summer but then I chickened out and went back to wash n gos for like 8 months. When I went to straighten my hair I had splits up my hair shaft several inches and knots everywhere basically had to start over 😂. Im now a straight natural again this time im not leaving! Love all your tips ❤
You are so helpful i thank you😊...this a update on my hair i was one of them girls who wanted to relax my hair until i found out about straighten it best decision i ever made.
Your hair is so beautiful. I’m a straight hair natural and this Midwest heat 🔥I like wearing it down, but my edges usually go first. I spend a lot of time with a scarf around them too.
Lovely hair. My summers are humid and hot where I live in the Midwest. So my roots revert back very easily during the summer months. As a result, when combing my hair, I see more hair fall. Should I re-flat iron my roots only(I silk press once a week summertime)? I feel like the two different texture is issue.
Humidity really does have a big effect on the straight natural hair life for sure.🥵I just don’t like putting heat on my hair in between my wash days because too much can end up damaging it or breaking it off. I know that constantly being in wet air would probably have me in twist outs, or braid outs. Also laying down my edges with a scarf when indoors helps tremendously! I feel like I live with a scarf tied around my hair! lol!
I feel you I’m also natural st8 with bangs, I’m down South so Ive been wigged up too bc the humidity is just outright disrespectful to my hair rn lol 😭

I have bangs and I'm straight hair natural and it's hard in this nyc summer. I wear a wig that look exactly like mines, although I don't want to 😔
And there is nothing wrong with that! We do what we have to do and you’re beautiful regardless 💁🏽♀️❤️🤗

Do you put any product in your hair or do you just brush it?
I just brush it when needed:)
How do you keep your hair moisturized without it reverting?
Because I do my hair so frequent, the natural oil in my hair keeps it moisturized between my wash days✨💓
What state are you in?
I live in Kentucky:)
