  • In this podcast, Ed Frawley sits down with long-time friend and colleague, Kevin Sheldahl to discuss Leerburg's new online course Muzzle Fighting for Police Service Dogs. This is an updated version of the same course Leerburg produced in 2005 with Kevin.
In this episode, Ed and Kevin will be discussing what they have learned in the last 15 years about how their approach and use of the muzzle fighting skill has changed with the evolution to dog training practices.
This course is available as a self-study online course.

Thanks to both of you! I hope all K9 trainers use your video. There has long been need for good muzzlefighting training to develop reliable actual performance in the real world. I hope it "goes viral". Pat Patterson, Wildwood, Mo.

I trained my Labrador retriever to wear a muzzle because he just eats anything and we had a very close call with some rat poison. After that scare (and a hefty vet bill), I knew I had to do something quick. It took only a few days to get him comfortable wearing a (well-fitted) muzzle and it gives me and everyone who occasionally walks my dog, peace of mind.

Good choice doing stuff with Kevin, Ed. LE can really benefit from his more modern approach.

I always liked muscle agitation, it just seemed to bring more out of them.
