750 Shadows are comfortable, classic looking, and above all, reliable bikes. You can commute on them easily, and even do some light touring when the need arises. What they are not, is over-powered. Two-up riding on the highway isn't fun at all, and while the engine will rev out enough to allow solo 80+ mph jaunts, the bike isn't especially happy about it, and will transmit it's displeasure thru the pegs and grips quite clearly. That being said, for easy backroad cruising, the bike has good ground clearance and enough smooth power to bring a smile to your face every time. I love mine.
Good video! I’m riding a 2001 Honda shadow Ace I have had it up two 95 with full bags and my tool back pack on . Just amazing cheap fun bike that I wouldn’t hesitate to go across the country on! Best 1000$ I have spent
I still own a 2001 Shadow 750 ACE and it is my most reliable bike. Comfortable, easy to ride and maintain, my top speed on my ACE was 95 In a straight FLAT Road. It is not a super bike by any means but very reliable. It’s my “ Go to work” bike. I love it.
Bike sounds great. Way back in 1985 I bought a brand new Honda magna 700cc. Top speed I reached was 120 all stock. Great reliable bike, shaft drive & a liquid cooled v4.
Years ago, I had a Honda 750 4 and it would hit 100 with ease, two up was never a problem, and had loads of power. I would love to get my hands on the pos that stole it! I still have the key. Late 70's, BTW.
I have a 2007 750 and I've gotten it to 100mph fairly easily to my surprise. Turns out, the rear sprocket was replaced by the previous owner for one slightly smaller. Love my shadow!
My rev limiter kicks in around 93-95, so that's as fast as my 2009 Aero VT750 will go...but I never run it past 80, so that's not a problem...lots of people say you can't tour on this bike, but I've gone 700 miles in one day on mine, wouldn't be afraid to tour it anywhere...she's been through 10 different states with me so far...I'd call that touring...
This is the comment I needed! I’m buying that 07’ 750 bobber I seen at the dealership..12k miles. Throw some brown saddle bags and call it a day. I’m happy I seen this comment, my first cruiser.
Nice vid! I have a 2009 Shadow Spirit. It runs flawlessly all the time. Just needs a tad more UUMPH. Just picked up a 2002 Shadow Sabre 1100. The Spirit has a more comfy seating position. More in the bike, where the Sabre seat is 2 inches higher, so more on the bike. Different animals but both Honda reliable.
a 2001 Shadow Ace was my first Real bike (2 dirt bikes as a kid). the original owner put on wide beach bars and mid sized saddle bags. Since I had to replace the rear sproket I changed out the chain and both sprokets with a smaller one on the back. Rode her for 5 years and she was incredibly comfortable and never 1 second of trouble crushing hiway millage and my summer daily driver. I had to sell her when I got laid off and completely regret that but I don't have storage for her and the 2 other bikes I have now. BUT the guy who bought it turned it into a bobber exactly the way I would if I was more mechanical.
Since I own a Shadow 750, but I also own a sportbike, this is the part where I lie and say I've had the Shadow up to 186MPH, and none of you believe me. Then I lie and say I've at least had the other bike up to 186 and you still don't believe me. You guys are not easily fooled.
I have a 212 spirit 750 5200 I'm doesn't go any faster than I just saw but does cruise nice at 140 I weigh in at 210 and I'll tell you weight matters throw my girl on and it doesn't perform the same thnx Rico Soauve. I do like the bike for a 60 yr old young man
98 Shadow VT750 C3, changed the back sproket from 41 T to 38 T will easily do 140/km and will get 250 km on a tank. but hey, speed limit is only 110/km up North
Hey man, how are the vibes around 80mph? Thinking about getting one for commuting but it's all freeway for a solid hour. Don't want to feel like I'm killing the bike.
1995 750, 135 mph and face shield popped loose, pressing my face. only slowed because a car pulled out a mile or so ahead, dang near hit its bumper.....
You are all nuts, shadows are excellent for scooting around town. You want to go fast, buy a fast bike. VTX is a better all round bike, same everything except 1300cc engine, I have both and love them both. My go to is the shadow at 55mpg, lighter and easier to muscle around.
Honda speedometers are notorious for showing incorrect mph. You may want to calibrate that. When I had one, my actual mph was 62 when the speedo said 70.
The bag flap sound is all funny until it's your flannel collar against your god forsaken ear lob. Was holding about 90 going up to Wisconsin for a weekend on the lakes. It was still hurting when it was time to come home.
@@SmokedComatose how would you say the 1100 feels weight wise compared to the 750? I have ridden a Kawasaki Vulcan 1500 that felt too big, but a 1200 Indian Scout that felt great. I’m thinking I’ll see what’s available when I’m ready to buy for Shadows in the 750/1100, but I definitely want shaft drift for maintenance ease.
@@georgesteffens7489 the way shadows are built, they have a low center of gravity. Makes them feel super light. My bike is about 600 lbs total but it doesn’t feel NEARLY that heavy. Low center of gravity makes it easier to handle for short/lightweight people. Plus, the seat sits pretty low to the ground to begin with, which makes it super easy to put both feet flat on the ground when stopped. As far as riding and handling, I’m not even a little scared to lean this bike because of the balance and how the weight is distributed. I’ve scraped my pegs leaning too far into a turn more than a few times. Tons of fun on super curvy roads. But to answer your question directly, the 750 and 1100 feel really similar as far as weight when riding. At least the older ones. I haven’t ridden the newer shadows yet. I’m actually getting ready to buy a brand new Honda fury 1300 in a couple months when all this snow is gone. When I hit the dealership, I’ll test ride one of the newer shadows and let you know how it feels compared to my old faithful ‘94. Also, I feel I should add that I’m a solid 230-240 lbs and my shadow has zero issues hauling me around, and still feels great. Like I said, the 750 and 1100 feel really similar and handle very well. I just got the 1100 for that little extra “oomph” because I’m not a small guy.
Flapping bag sounded so much like a Huey I had a 'Nam flashback and I never went to 'Nam.
Could not stop laughing at your comment. You are the kind of brother I could have few beers with! Good on you bro.
So wanted to hear the bike at speed versus flapping
That was pretty weird. Reminds me of tour of duty. Only need the song "we gotta get outa this place." 😅😅
I was just about to say, "Dang, that thing sounds like a Huey" lol

Yeah lots of vibration over 140kms...still a beautiful bike

Yeah that’s pretty good there awesome bikes
3:04 I really love that sound
This is not a joke. I sincerely thank you for not throwing up one of those "Somewhere in Mexico" captions. That got old really fast. Pipes sound nice!

2004 Shadow here, and Love it.

People forget in the 60s and 70s 500s and 650s were big bikes. They were ridden all across the country. Now 750s are considered beginner bikes.
2006 owner here. Love it.
Most reliable motor in the world I love my 2004
Agreed 100%
1:33 Eargasm begins for me ❤️
Blake, Thank you for putting the correct fuel in your bike. I abhor when folks put crap gas in good bikes.
Ethanol-free is the ONLY way to go.
Many years ago After a night of heavy drinking on sixth street in Austin,I got my 83 honda shadow 750 up to 140 on the freeway IN Austin
She sounds so sweet 😎

Got a ticket for 104 yesterday on my 07 shadow 750 spirit, I'm 6 ft. 223 lbs......

That looks so relaxing 😎
Have a 2001 Shadow ACE750, and I drop two teeth on the rear gear from 41 to 39. Kinda smooth's the ride out when I get over 80mph.
Please tell me you were listening to Fortunate Son while riding to go with the Huey sound
It's about how fun it is while riding normal . Cruising
are you a new rider ??

It dose fine on the freeway you won’t feel like your killing the bike but if you pin it at 80 it will move slowly
1995 750, 135 mph and face shield popped loose, pressing my face. only slowed because a car pulled out a mile or so ahead, dang near hit its bumper.....
Que escape en específico traerá este modelo?
Sounds like it could run like that forever

You know that blue light tells you that the high beams are on? Which they shouldn't be when there's oncoming traffic...
🚁🚁🚁🚁🚁🚁 0:14
Flap flap flap
Lol exactly I took it off after that ride
the flapping thing on the front reminds me of my sister talking after she took her diet pills.
I could only get mine up to 90mph full throttle but I have a massive windshield and bagged up
My 2004 shadow aero stock with carb no windshield or bags in 2005 I got 108mph on flat highway to j@p cycles
My 99 shadow VT750 ACE does 110, seems like it wants more....or maybe thats just me.
My shadow 120 mph cause it’s boosted 😎🔥🔥 but gota say 100mph is enough to make me happy
what do yo mean by boosted? turbo, supercharger or nitrous?
Try losing the bag(too much drag)and using the passenger foot pegs so you can get down out of the wind. Bet you get to 110-115.
95 I wouldn't say much more than that seeing how I own this bike
I think the Honda Shadow VT 750 is as fast as the VT 600, because the 750 has more weight.
I never understand why bikers don't ride in the far lane to prevent head on collision..
The bag flap sound is all funny until it's your flannel collar against your god forsaken ear lob. Was holding about 90 going up to Wisconsin for a weekend on the lakes. It was still hurting when it was time to come home.
That’s my cousin
Thanks for the video; I’m trying to decide between the 1100 and the 750; looks like the 750 would suffice
Yeah the 750 is good but I kinda wish I had the 1100
I’ve got a ‘94 shadow 1100. LOVE it. Amazing bike. Sitting at just under 80k miles and still going strong.

Take that fork bag off please
Could do without your bag flapping like hell
Check out my newest video
Just checking out the rest of your stuff. I'm really enjoying them!
Mine hits 100 m/h easily
It's a cruiser not a race bike lol.
I know where he lives
Oh man
Hi
Dumbest thing I have ever seen, that bag comes loose and he could get knocked of the bike at 70 mph.
