What size yarn did you use? I can’t figure it out from the video or the pattern. A 3mm hook usually means super-fine/fingering yarn, but this yarn doesn’t look like that
You could make it into a triangle shape at the end by folding both corners to the middle and stitching the sides together to form that triangular shape you want. It would also probably make the tie hang down because it is weighted different. Just a thought.

It's a 3mm crochet hook and the yarn is a mercerized cotton .
It's 4 ply yarn
Isn't the end of the tie triangle shaped from where u started?

This type is the square finish not the triangle shape one.
